The Life of Indigenous Australian Children

The Life of Indigenous Australian Children.

In New South Wales, the government estimated that, in New South Wales alone, there were at least 8,000 Aboriginal children who had been taken away from their families between 1885 and 1996. Aboriginal children were often taken for being "neglected." The missions and reserves were often the places where the Aborigines would eventually die off. The children in the institutions were the most neglected children in Australia. Many had to sleep in dormitories with about nineteen to twenty-five other girls in each of dormitory. If any of the girls wet the bed, she would get her nose rubbed in the wet sheet and then receive a beating. The food they ate was so bad that sometimes the meat was infested with maggots. They were not supplied with shoes; in order to keep their feet warm; children would jump into the cow dung. In Kinchela Boys' Home, which was based in New South Wales, the boys often suffered sexual and physical abuse.

Hiina mänguasja tehased

 About 75% of the world's toys come from China, where migrant workers are paid an average salary of $240 a month.  Extreme poverty in China's rural areas drives many people from the countryside into the cities to look for these types of jobs.  facts  Every day, the workers have to arrive 15 minutes before the regular work shift begins for a work assembly.  Their living conditions are prison-like. Up to six people share small, cramped dormitories and up to 50 people share one bathroom.  Schools send student workers to these factories to do “internships."  Some factories promise workers a 10- minute break after every two hours of work.  Most workers never have benefited from these promises.  After the work shift, there's another work assembly that lasts 15 minutes.  Even during the 30-minute lunch period, workers must return to the shop floor early to resume production or to attend another meeting

open to the general public. The University possesses some 150 buildings, 30 of which are outside of Tartu. 31 of its buildings decorate the city as architectural monuments. However, the current reforms include attempts to sell, or have the state co-sponsor, several of these buildings and monuments, as well as sports facilities, as they are not seen as part of the university's mission proper. At the same time, there are numerous recently constructed/renovated university buildings and student dormitories, such as the Technology Institute and the Biomedical Center. Number of students is over 17,000. Language of instruction in most curricula is Estonian, but there are also several English language groups. Among the international programs, the most popular one is semiotics. Kaspar Kaljurand 11b

Energy - põhjalik referaat energiast

Picture 2.6. Types of energy used in commercial buildings Retail and service buildings use the most total energy of all the commercial building types. This isn't too surprising when you think of all the stores and service businesses in most towns. Offices use a large share of energy, too. Education buildings, like your school, use 13 percent of all total energy, which is even more than all hospitals and other medical buildings combined! Lodging buildings (like hotels or dormitories) use 8 percent of all energy. Warehouses and food service (like restaurants) each use 7 percent. Public assembly buildings, which can be anything from libraries to sports arenas, use 6 percent; food sales buildings (like grocery stores and conveniencestores) use 4 percent. All other types of buildings, like places of worship, fire stations, police stations, and laboratories, account for the remaining 10 percent of commercial building energy. 10
