It is said that because of that wheel, was that street named as Ratsakaevu street. Townspeople, however, called the pit instead Kassikaev. It is said that one nixie lived in that well and it was believed that the nixie will float Tallinn. Because of that the habitants sacrificed every year many cattles, especially many dead cats. Because of that the well got its name Kassikaevu. After many years the well was closed. The other story about the Ratsakaevu street is about the wedding of the devil. There is a story about one precise house on that street. The house owner, to whom the house belonged to the past, dropped his fortune so recklessly, that he no longer knew what to do. One evening, he was so desperation that he decided to end his life.
