Risk for the environment As descried in environmental fate section formaldehyde is removed from the atmosphere quite fast. The fate of formaldehyde in soil has not been determined. The main target in the environment for formaldehyde is water. Taking into account that PNECaqua has low limit the risk is moderate for aquatic ecosystem.
