Capillary electrophoresis i.k.
conductivity buffer are “stacked” at the interface between this zone and the high conductivity
buffer which precedes it. Judicious selection of filed amplification conditions can permit
simultaneous injection and concentration of both positive and negative ions. Injection of a
short plug of water before sample introduction permits a several hundredfold enhancement in
the amount of material injected (Camilleri, 1997).
Capillary
Ideal material of the capillary must be mechanically and electrically inert, transparent
in the ultraviolet and visible regions, flexible, durable and inexpensive. Fused silica best
match these requirements. Like the GC column, the capillaries are provided with a protective
coating of polyimide, which makes them flexible and therefore comfortable in use.
