1838. aastal ehitati vana kõrtsihoone ümber esimeseks supelasutuseks. 1838. aastal asutati Pärnu mudaravila (tollase linnakarjamaa servale mereranda, praeguse Mudaravila kohas). 1882. aastal hakati rajama Pärnu rannaparki, 1890. aastal ehitati supelasutus ümber ja 1899. rajati lähedusse Rannasalong. Lühikese ajaga rajasid ettevõtlikud pärnakad hulga uhkeid villasid, kõige paremad krundid haarasid jõukamad kaupmehed - Ammended, Schmidted, Spechtid. 4 Pärnu raudteejaam 1897. aastal 1896. aastal ehitati Pärnu linnasüdamesse (praegune Pangamaja kohale Rüütli tänav 40a) puust varikatusega Pärnu raudteejaam. Kitsarööpmelise raudtee Valga – Ruhja –Pärnu raudteeliin ühendas Pärnut Mõisaküla ja Valgaga ning edasi Liivimaa kubermangu kubermangulinna Riiaga ning Laatre -Viljandi raudtee Viljandi kaudu
