Strategies of creating a dominant party – the case of UR
Through the adoption of a populist, catch-all program, the
efforts to recruit supporters from all segments of society, the control over the media, the
ability to freely use state resources and the effective use of patronage, United Russia has
successfully secured its position in Russia's political landscape.
