In May 1940, when Winston Churchill replaced Neville Chamberlain as Prime Minister got
Britain a more aggressive war-time leader. In 1942 Roosevelt and Churchill agreed to make
defeating Germany their first priority. After three more years, in 1945, Germany surrendered
unconditionally. As a result for Britain - Great Britain lost over 300,000 fighting men and
over 60,000 civilians in WWII.
