A book worth reading A year ago I managed to find time to read an extremely profound book entitled The Fault in Our Stars. This tragic, yet realistic drama was written by John Green, a famous author of young-adult fiction, and it provides a valuable insight into the life of children fighting with cancer. The Fault in Our Stars is about a teenage girl Hazel, who has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Hazel’s daily routine contains taking meds, reading books and taking part of the support group meetings for cancer- fighters. In the support group she meets an extraordinarily handsome boy Augustus, who, full of metaphores and mystery, catches Hazel’s attention immediately. As the plot evolves, these two spectacularily appalling figures get close and share unique experiences. Together they help out a friend dealing with the loss of a girlfriend, travel to the Netherlands to meet Hazel’s favourite author and much more. Unlike any other teenage-cliche ...
English is the only foreign language worth learning Many people think that English is the only language what is worth learning. I strongly disagree. First of all, there is so many countries , which have their own language. I do not see a problem talking in multiple languages. It only helps us develop and communicate with so many other language speaking people. Intercourse is what connects us, but to communicate with others we need to understand one another. What is more, we do not need to be so similar. Speaking some other language makes us more intriguing
An opinion essay A true friend is worth more than gold Some people say that a true friend is worth more than gold. I totally agree with this and would like to explain my point of view. Firstly, I'd like to say that a true friend is someone who shares your life the good times and the bad in contrast to acquaintances with whom you have a superficial relationship and their life is a closed book to you. Moreover, true friends may trust each other so they never have secrets. Also, he can bare his inner feelings to you, and will support you through thick and thin because a
English is the only foreign language worth learning English is quite far-spread language all over the world. Lots of people believe that English is only foreign language what is need to be learned. I strongly agree with this view for a number of reasons. First of all, nowadays English is the most widely spoken and undrestood language in the business world. International companys and other organsations uses English as their communication language.
English is the only foreign language worth learning Every people should speak some foreign language. Knowing different languages is important, we can communicate with other people around the world. But is English the only foreign language worth learning? English is one of the most important languages in the world. It helps us to communicate with other people. If you know English then you have a better chance to get the work you want. You have a better chance to work and make a career. When you go to traveling, then English is the best language to speak. You can speak English almost everywhere you go. People should learn some other languages too. In some countries people don’t speak
1. slaid Good morning. My name is XXX and today I am going to tell you about Casey Brown´s Ted talk. Her speech is named ,,Know your worth, and then ask for it." My presentation will take about five minutes. You can ask questions at the end of my presentation. 2. slaid (video) 3. slaid - introduction My presentation is about pricing consultant's Casey Brown's speech about knowing the value of yourself as an employee or as a company and making others see what you are worth. This speech seemed interesting to me, because the gender wage gap what she is aiming to is also actual in Estonia. The gender wage gap is a subject that affects somehow all of us. Gender wage gap figure has publicly launched a couple discussions on fair treatment of women and men, and gender balance issues. Casey Brown has some really good tips that we could use to help us. 4. slaid fear and doubts The main point of Casey's speech is that: No one will ever pay you what you're worth
How much does life weigh? The question can be understood differently. Some might take it word by word, others in some metaphorical way. Many are convinced that a human body has an immortal part - a soul. With knowing how few it actually weights, we can only assume what we have in these grams and whether it is anything worth at all. First of all, what do we claim to be a soul? It is our conscience with no form or location. It is the energy that is a part of the whole universe. In consideration of this, every human being has their own soul. This is what makes us all different and unique. Because of this, how can we even question the weight of our lives, when it seems to be completely different for everyone? Well, let's think about the moment of death. It is the exact moment, where our energy leaves our bodies. It
For centuries people have cured themselves with our sea mud. This discovery is thought to be the beginning of Haapsalu as a resort town. In Laine Spa Hotel, they are offering many different services for instance therapeutic mud procedures. I have heard that therapeutic mud procedures is very beneficial for one’s health, because it cures chronic inflammatory diseases and relives pain. In addition, the mud therapy treatment gives a nice relaxed and mellow feeling. It is worth trying because the service is offered at a very few places. Unfortunately, this service has very long queues and it may cost too much for some. Conclusion/Recommendations Considering all of these aspects, I would recommend visiting museums and the Old Town. These may not seem very interesting, but I promise that it is a lot of fun, and there are many other things to visit besides the museum.

Also, historical novels are quite popular
Slumdog Milionaire Robi Kivi LGA18 Describe at least ONE idea that was worth learning about in the text. Explain why the idea was worth learning about in the text as a whole, using examples of visual and / or oral language features to support your ideas. In Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle "Love conquers all" is an idea worth learning about. Boyle uses cinematography, dialogue & gesture and flashbacks to show this. Love conquers all is an idea worth learning about because you may come across it in many texts, it's a universal idea and it's appealing to us as an audience. Love conquers all is the common theme in the texts, especially those which feature young love. Other texts such as the well-known play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, to the novel feed by M
The Price of Everlasting Beauty I read Oscar Wilde's book called "The Picture of Dorian Gray". It talks about a man who never ages, instead a portrait of him ages. Dorian can be forever beautiful but is it worth it? Dorian realizes that he cannot be young forever and wishes that the portrait would age not him but he does not think about the consequence. Lord Henry points out that Dorian cannot be beautiful and young forever and Dorian wishes that the painting would age not him. I think this it not worth it because everyone around Dorian will grow old and eventually die. He would see the people he cares about dying. Also, when Dorian understand that he can be beautiful forever, he does not care so
She is a good example of sexuality and gender not being as univocal and simplistic topics as they may seem since she was a bisexual (sexual relationship with Celie). Throughout the novel Celie’s mother was compared to Shug. Celie saw her mother in Shug while she took Shug as a role model herself. Shug had a great influence on Celie who was in a violent marriage. Thanks to Shug, Celie learned to stand up for herself and also got to know herself and her worth. All thanks to the help she received form Shug. I believe that Shug brought Celie back to life as she taught her about self-esteem and self-worth. I think that deep inside Shug was actually a good and caring person, not like it seemed in the beginning of the novel. I also notice some empathy for Celie. Shug was always there for her and supporting her. However, she had some problems with staying with one person. She later fell in love with a yough 19-year-old man. Her heart never
The most important technological invention In my mind, the most important technological invention is the jet airliner, the Boeing 707- 120, which was invented in 1958. I concidered different inventions but thought, that the ability to move from one point to another in an innoventional and extremely quick way is worth the title. The four engine plane can carry up to 181 passengers and cruise at 600 mph for 5280 miles on a full tank. This has made continetial travelling extremely comfortable, as voyages that formerly took a couple of weeks can now be passed with only 1 day or even less. The first jet flight took off from New York and landed in Paris, soon after that there was a connection between Los Angeles and New York. I can only assume that the tickets had to cost a fortune in

He took me round some important places of the city. Kolkata is a very big place. The streets of Kolkata are full, of the crowds of people. There is such great rush-of traffic that at first I felt quite confused. Kolkata is a city of fine streets. I liked the Chawranghee most of all. On one side it is lined by tall buildings and on the other by the maidan. The maidan is a great open park where large numbers of people assemble to spend their sweet evenings. In Kolkata there are many places worth-seeing. I saw the Government House, Fort William, the Museum, the Botanical Garden, the Zoo at Alipore, and the Birla Planetarium I had a very pleasant time in Kolkata. It is really a fine city in India. I am sure, my description of the city will tempt you to visit Calcutta very soon. My earnest regards for uncle and aunt with love. Yours ever, Name My dear Rashmi, I received your letter a week ago. I am sorry, I could not write to you earlier as I was but of station.

Two very clever burglars were arrested in the early hours of the morning. The incident occured in the alley behind Pearson's Electronics Shop, in the South Street. Joe Lee, 30, and Peeter Brown, 23, had just finished loading a van with thousands of pounds worth of electronics equipment when they were surrounded by policeman. The two men had been breaking into electronics shop in the Forest city area for several months. They had continuosly eluded police by cleverly disarming alarms and changing getaway vehicles. Captain Green of the police department said that they had been on burglars trail for some time now and that they had only been waiting for the right moment to catch them in the act.

I think that the writing was effective and definately the author achieved his purpose. Many people told me before reading this book, that they have never read a better book in their life. After first couple of chapters I thought we just have different tastes in books, as I usually do have, but the book was quite interesting in the end. Most of all I liked the plot, I think it was very well written and the author had good imagination. Also, the philosophy in this book was worth reading. Usually when you are in the middle of the book, you can predict what happens in the end. With this book it was different. I did not think it would end like that, so the end was a bit surprising and interesting for me. On the other hand, I did not like the long weird descriptions that occured frequently. "Kui ta läks männipuust maalimislaua juurde, mis asetses kõrge kardinatega kaetud akna all, tõstis Dorian
impact and if it does, the impact is insignificant and can be easily defended. File sharers rationalize their actions based on the argument that they "would not have purchased the content anyway." In addition, it is argued that freely obtaining a digital copy of something does not have any impact because a tangible, physical item is not being stolen. Thus, it is a seemingly victimless crime. Last, file sharers argue that the content that they are freely stealing is not worth the price. Perhaps they consider a certain piece of software, for example, to be poorly written. Supporters profess that software companies should be penalized for distributing low quality software with what they consider high price tags. Another closely related line of reasoning is the idea that they are merely "testing" the product before they purchase it; in essence, they are exercising their own "try before you buy" policy.
What Might Attract Tourists to Estonia? Despite Estonia being a little country, it still manages to attract thousands of tourists to visit that beautiful place. One of many virtues in Estonia is its nature. We have amazing virgin forest, may little islands, different landscapes, a lot of lakes and small rivers where you can go hiking. We also have towns that are worth visiting. For example our capital Tallinn, which has an amazing old town. Also Tartu is very beautiful, known as the capital of University. Smaller towns, like Otepää, Võru, Põlva may charm you with their scilence and calmness. During the summer, there are very many cultural events to visit. For example, the Folk Festival in Viljandi, Rabarock in Järvakandi, Opera Days in Pärnu, different open-air plays etc.
In 1969 Nathaniel Branden said that high self-esteem is the main foundation for parenting and has dominated since. It is incredibly important for us all to have a feeling of self-worth and acceptance, but as- children are been praised too much. Are we given the skills to work at a goal instead of expecting to complete it easily because we are told we are "smart"? Are we set up for failure by being told how smart we are, when in all actuality maybe we are right where we should be: in the middle? I have a feeling that the way we praise and are been praised is going to change; not that teachers and parents

might join it just to reduce the boredome in their lives. The other reason why people protest is peer pressure. During revolutions and protests people start judging and criticizing those who don’t participate in the events. Under the effect of peer pressure the ones with low self esteem find themselves forced to take a direction just to please others and not because in what was going on. Those are some of the main reasons why people protest. Some events are worth the protest but some are not. It depens on the protest, the people who are protesting, and over what people protest.
A film review of The Last Song The Last Song is a 2010 American romantic drama film. It is produced by Adam Shankman, directed by Julie Anne Robinson and screenplay by Nicholas Sparks. That film is all about one teenager girl- Ronnie. She is going to spend a summer with her dad and a little brother. At Tybee Island, Georgia, Ronnie falls in love to a handsome volleyball player- Will. That summer is a memorable for a Ronnie, because she is going to reconnect a relationship with her dad (since parents divorse they have not commune). Miley Cyrus (as Ronnie) is a all time favourite movie actor. She has made many good movies, including The Last Song. Miley did a great job. I really like how she acted and played her role very well. The whole film places were perfect. There was not anything difficult to understand, everything were clearly understood. The Last Song is a very good romantic drama. I recommend that film to everybody who like...
Introduction The purpose of this letter is to focuse on the good and bad sides of McDonalds restaurant. Food and Prices McDonalds offers well-packed fast food. The prices may seem a bit high, but the food is well worth the cost and tastes good. Service The waiters are friendly, but it's commonly hard to understand them because they don't speak neither understand much Estonian. The service could also be sometimes a bit slow and the queues long. Atmosphere The interior of the restaurant is nice and cosy, though what can be complained about is how the tables and seats are set, beacuse they are usually too close to each other. Restaurant plays music which gives you a good mood. As another
Furthermore, it is a rewarding job because they help sick or injured people to recover. On the other hand, there are also a number of disadvantages to being a doctor. Firstly, it is a tiring job because they work shifts and often work at night. For example, they must always prepared to deal with any number of situations tat may arise. In addition, they often see people suffering. To conclude, I belive that, altough being a doctor can be difficult at times, it is worth it. It is rewarding job to help people who are sick or injured.

Nobody can win a war. People started to make a war thousands years ago. During this time they had different purposes, but the final was the same a war caused a great deal of sorrow. But is it worth fighting? Are there any winners or losers in war? Firstly, both sides get bored with a feud. It makes much money, physical and moral strength. Not only soldiers civilian population gets tired of being in a danger and worrying about relatives and friends. Secondly, the consequences of a war are horrible. Terrible memories would not leave people. Every time they recall those events, they suffer again because no one is able to make somebody happy fighting. Thirdly, a lot of people die

CD review A CD I recently listened was A rush of blood to the head by a band called Coldplay. They are an alternative rock band formed in London, England on 16 January 1998. The group comprises vocalist/pianist/guitarist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Will Champion. Being their second album, A rush of blood to the head was released in 2002. The album has several popular singles such as "In My Place", "Clocks", and the ballad "The Scientist." It also won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. This is my favourite CD, because you forget everything that surrounds you while you listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects ...
EUTHANASIA Many hotly debated social questions revolve around choice. Giving people access to assistance in dying is one of them. The issue is too sensitive to come to a smple conclusion. The basic question is : should a person who is terminally ill and who feels that their life is not worth living, who is repeatedly asking for euthanasia and who is of sound mind be given assistance in dying so that they could do it in a dignified manner rather than have their lives prolonged by medical technology? Ultimately, it's a question of choice: empowering people to have control over their own bodies. The main opposition comes from religious groups, medical associations whose members see practising euthanasia as an inproper exctension of their role as carers. Throughout centuries the
Olari Simson Nobody can win a war Historically people have always been at war. By hook or by crook they fight no matter what is the reason. This is in human natures people need to fight with ohter people. They cannot sit in one place and deal with their own business. Human just need to know everything and be part of it. Is war worth fighthing? Why people just cannot get along with everyone? Human is naturally warrior and human have to be part of everything and when people have not enough of something he need get more of it. Human has always been greedy, always want to be a wealthy and command everyone, but others do not let him do that. People do not let command and force themselves and this is the reason why wars begin. Peoples misunderstanding goes so far, when they tap more powerful and deadful methods.
Different jobs require different level of education. For example, if you have documents that are valuable, you have more chance to get your dream job. In conclusion, as it is said, that education is one of the most important processes in today's society. Today's youth are tomorrow's teachers. Schools are teaching us the basic knowledge of life and trying to expand our memorizing abilty. However, you can get your education papers, but if they dont have value, they are not worth. Nobody can win a war. Historically people have always been at war. Everyone had their own reason for a war. One thought, that getting of the worldwide power is the goal of his life, another wanted to get more money, territory or even some kind of revenge. Bur war brings with it human's deaths, innocent victims, hunger, illnesses, violence, distractions etc. Is this worth fighting? On the one hand, there are some people who are able to kill houndreds of innocent victims to make his goal realized, because he has a power and he is allowed to do everything he wants. In addition to that, sometimes people use a war just to justify their revenge, they just use the power, they have, to satisfy own ambitions to feel a win's spirit. So they become winners, but it is only formally.
reasons. Students read because they have obligatory literature. Some of them read beacause they want to get a good mark and some, however, truly like reading because they find it fascinating. Whereas reading is interesting, it is also beneficial. Students can use their book knowledges on their essays. Grownups usually read for fun or to educate themselves. Sometimes grownups read self - help books to overcome their problems in life. To sum up, I find books worth reading. They are very useful and they help people to express themselves more easily. I think people should read more.
The best place I have ever been to is Dubrovnik, located in the south of the Croatia. This town is very old and has a really interesting history. Nowadays this is one of the most famous resorts in Europe. Climate, of course is hot as the town is located at the Adriatic Sea. It consist of two parts : the old town and the new one. The old town is the primary objective for tourists who visit Dubrovnik. Narrow strelets full of different souvenir shops and restaurants are worth of visiting. The old town isn't the onlt place to visit there. Outside of the town walls you can find even more resturants, where you can sit next to the sea and enjoy fish and seafood dishes from the local Croatian kitchen. When you are full of local guisine, you can take diving lessons org o to the boat trip from the beach, which is located 100 metres away from the old town. Saaremaa is approximately as big as Tenerife in Spain. The island is full of exciting sights and beautiful places. Theres very rich nature with hundred of species of various organisms. The most important sight on Saaremaa is in the town called Kuressaare, which is the only town on the island. The bishopric castle dates from the 13th century and it is unique for the Baltic countries. Kuressaare is also known for its well preserved old town. I think it is worth going to those islands and they are very beautiful and unique places.
