be narrow-minded. Main Characters The main characters are Scout, Atticus and Jem. Scout is a little girl, she is intelligent, thoughtful and brave. She definitely seems boy-like because she isn't afraid to fight with boys. Scout also has a warm heart, she always has best intentions and worries about the poor. Jem, Scouts brother, is entering puberty and is not so stable as Scout. There is seen clear progress in Jem's way of thinking during the novel. Atticus is the widowed father of Jem and Scout and also a prominent lawyer. He is respected by everyone. He is also the idol of Scout and Jem because he fights and stands out for justice. Plot Scout Finch lives with her brother, Jem, and their widowed father, Atticus, in Alabama town of Maycomb. One summer, Jem and Scout become friends with a boy named Dill, who has come to live in their neighbourhood for the summer. Dill becomes fascinated by the spooky house on their street, the Radley Place. The house

Gran Torino Gran Torino is an American drama film, which was completed in 2008 and was released on December 9th in California. It was directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, who also starred in it. The film tells a story about an old widowed former Ford factory worker Kowalski, who has a troubled relationship with his family members and who is angry at the world. It is quite interesting that Clint Eastwood wanted to star in a movie where he plays a racist character. He also said that it was his last film as an actor. The main issue in this film is gang violence on the streets involving different cultures and races. Grand Torino is not a typical American film at all; it even reminds me of a 1992 Australian film Romper

April 1948 said, "Hercule Poirot, whose eggshaped cranium is crammed with lively gray cells, proves himself a bit of a mug before he sorts out all the details of [Enoch Arden's] death and other even more baffling mysteries. But he does it with all the acumen that has endeared him to Agatha Christie fans. Fantastic and topping."[4] Robert Barnard: "Elderly man married to a glamorous nitwit of dubious social background is a common plotelement in Christie. Here she is widowed (in an airraid this is one of the few Christies anchored to an actual time), and burdened by financially insatiable relatives, both of blood and in-law. But who exactly is dead, and who isn't? And who is what they seem, and who isn't? Compulsive reworking of Tennysonian and Christiean themes, and pretty high up in the range of classic titles. " During the 18th century, hundreds of thousands left for the Portuguese Colony of Brazil, despite efforts by the crown to place severe restrictions on emigration. RESTORATION AND POMBALINE ERA In 1738, Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, 1st Marquis of Pombal, began a diplomatic career as the Portuguese Ambassador in London and later in Vienna. The Queen consort of Portugal, Archduchess Maria Anne Josefa of Austria, was fond of Melo; and after his first wife died, she arranged the widowed de Melo's second marriage to the daughter of the Austrian Field Marshal Leopold Josef, Count von Daun. King John V of Portugal, however, was not pleased and recalled Melo to Portugal in 1749. John V died the following year and his son, Joseph I of Portugal, was crowned. In contrast to his father, Joseph I was fond of de Melo, and with the Queen Mother's approval, he appointed Melo as Minister of Foreign Affairs. As the King's confidence in de Melo increased, the King entrusted him with more
