If I were an English teacher

Being a teacher is not an easy task. Teachers have many problems with students who does not know how to behave. Some of them even make fun of teachers and I find this kind of behaviour disturbing, because it is not fair that urchins have more fun in school than decent students have. Yes, teachers can throw the rebels out or punish them in other ways, but that usually agitates the students against the teacher. Firstly, I would like to say that if I were an English teacher I would variegate the classes with subjects, which students would actually find interesting. I would find it exciting to let them think and explore more about politics, social issues, world news and of course other subjects that they really find interesting to speak about. I believe these subjects need also considering because the majority of youth actually has no idea or interest who represents them or how politics work for that matter

If I Were A Millionaire

If I Were A Millionaire... Everyone of us has their own dreams and it is hard to believe that out there is someone who has not dreamed about money. I am talking about a huge amount of money. If I were a millionaire, I could own all those things I have not had in my life before. First, if I were the lucky one, who would have a chance to be a millionaire, there would be millions of ways how to spend it. As to the point that my family has been the most precious fortune for me, I would give at least one third of that to my loved ones. I think that this would be a clever action. Second, if I would have the chance then I would purchase all these things I have wanted in my entire life. I would definitely buy an enormous but cozy house where I

If I were a boy

Dear Teacher, Thank you for your last letter. It was very interesting to read it, because I have never thought to that before and it made me to think that what would it be like, if for one day I were a man. I think that almost every girl have thought sometimes that boys are stupid and they doesn't understand girls. So if I were a boy for one day, I would give my best to be the perfect boy and would try to avoid the mistakes that I think mostly the boys do when they hurt a girl. But definately that day would help me see the world as the way boys see it. And I think that day would help me a lot in my following life because probably I would understand the life better beacause I could see it from different corners. If I could experience one day as a boy I think without doubt it would change many things and

even for attending school. Even dorms are paid for students. That is true, we have a chance of getting a little scholarship in high schools, if we graduate with a medal, but it is times and times harder to achieve. In fact government has started to close high schools because they think that there are too many of them. It looks like our country wants only graduates with vocational education, which I find really sad. If I were a minister of education I would do everything to help students to graduate gymnasium, not to popularise vocational schools. Students should have a chance to choose what path they want to follow but our country tries to mislead them. Also I would do everything to change the time of school's first lessons. Although it has not changed lately and it is 8 o'clock like it has been for years, I think that it is a little too early. If one or two of my first lessons are cancelled I am much more

If I were the misiter on education

If I were the Minister of Education If I got the chance to be the Minister of Education, I would definitely make some changes in school life, changes for the better of course. Firstly, I would improve school catering. I would make school food free for all students because at the moment it is quite expensive. Because of that some students can not afford to eat at school but schooldays are long and it is unhealthy to go all day without eating. School buffet's offer unhealthy chips and pies but very little healthy vegetables and fruits so I would make buffets healthier. Secondly, I believe that it would make classes more effective to watch different educational movies. Doing the same thing from day to day is simply boring and some variety would surely increase students' interest in class. The third thing I would do to spice up life at school is organizing more fieldtrips. There are m...

If I were the minister of education

If I were the minister of education, I would do changes in education system. We have a lot of problems in education. Firstly, I would change the exam system. I will lose the national tests to make the schools themselves and instead of school examinations. It increases the benefit of the examinations passed. What is very positive. Also, it would make life easier for students. Secondly, we should pay more attention to rural schools. There are a lot of schools which would be needed to renovate. It should be a lot of money to invest. We should not focus only on the city schools. Finally, as far as I know from year to year decrease in the number of high school graduates. And this is a great loss for our education. Because we need more and more people to teach at the University of engineers and IT professionals. In conclusion, educational needs of our increasingly well-educated people. This is our future. High School education shoul...

Even teachers and students say that some changes need to be made. Maybe our government should consultate more with poeple who know the real situtation when they create new laws. If I were minister of education I would deffenetly prefere American educational system to Russian. Because our new generation of children use English a lot more than Russian. In addition I would give more money to renovate our schools and raise also teatchers salary and students scholarship. This would boost up their motivation to give quality education to our children. Also i would invite more exchange students into our schools and send our children more often to learn in foreign countrys.

What I would change if I were omnipotent

What I would change if I were omnipotent The thing that bothers me the most in today's world is the lack of care. It is noticeable everywhere: in the streets, on television or even in relationships. If I had the power to change anything I would change the attitude of humankind considering the following issues. Firstly, I am not the kind of person whose glass is always half empty mine is half full but there are some negative aspects that disturb me . Walking down the street I notice litter such as wraps of different kind of junk food, old cigarettes and pieces of gum. Furthermore, I would make the people understand not to throw their trash on the ground but to recycle everything. Make it so that it is illegal to trash and it is the law to recycle. So that eventually everyone would take trash personally. Secondly, When ever I turn on the television there are commercials after commercials. Everything ...

If I were the Minister of Education in Estonia

If I were the Minister of Education in Estonia During my years being a student, I have noticed that there have been some changes in the Estonian educational system. Some of them are useful, some are not. Yet I think there are still many things that could use a change. I think, that one good change has been made related to the national exams, they have been improved a lot. This has assured an ongoing high level of education in Estonia. Our colleges' curriculums have also certified our college students' competitivity worldwide. I would like to bring out the education getting more and more creative as a positive change. I have noticed the use of active teaching methods and personal approach to the students. If I would be the Minister of Education, I would make the first change in turning the educational system to be more student-centered. I find, that not only those students need perso...

Homosexual people marching the streets of Järva-Jaani. Today, i was walking home from school, and i saw four gay couples marching the streets of Järva-Jaani. I was very annoyed because of the noise they were making and crappy music they were playing. I hope Arto Saar will do something about it, because i do not think i could stand another day having to walk past them. People of Järva-Jaani, I hope that you will help me freeze out these gay couples before there will be more of them walking the streets of my hometown. The thing is that in my opinion gay couples shouldn't be aloud to be openly ,,gay". It's disgusting and it is against God's will, I hope they will burn in hell.

My best friend I have one best friend. Her name is Elen and we have known each other since we were 12 years old. We met with her in school in dance class about 14 years ago. If I were to describe how she looks, I would say she is very pretty. She has short brown hair, brown almond-shaped eyes, a small nose and a small pointed chin. She is not very tall but not short either and she is quite slim. She doesn't like to dress up so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T-shirt or sweater. It seems like she and I are always talking or laughing about something. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humor but she can also get a little depressed from time to time

These emotional responses are linked to changes in autonomic and neuroendocrine systems, which are essential for metabolic support when preparing the body for action. Since emotion can influence such important processes like learning, decision-making, memory and consequently health and welfare of the individual then dysfunctional regulation of emotions can lead to psychopathology. A total of 26 healthy, non smoking male participants, age group 18-42 years were recruited into the study. Based on the theory of Cybernetic 3-Dimensional Model on Emotion Regulation (CMER), three dimensions of emotion regulation was measured. Participants were stressed using the TSST test, and the salivary cortisol and plasma IL-6 was measured as endocrinological markers of the stress response. Multiple regression and correlation analysis were conducted investigating the main hypothesis. The results show that

Book report/review "The Snow Child"

The Snow Child English The Snow Child is a book by Eowyn Ivey. The author was inspired by the Russian fairytale Snegurotska while writing her debut novel. story takes place in Alaska 1920's and it talks about a couple, Jack and Mabel, who decide to make a snow girl out of snow. The next day the snow girl has become a real human being. Before Jack and Mable were living in Alaska they were living in Pennsylvania. They moved to Alaska to get away from the family, because they had lost their first child. It was hard for Mabel to recover there, because there were children around all the time. In Alaska they were living a very isolated life - no neighbours, no friends. In addition, at that time there did not exist such things as food shops, so they had to hunt all their food. Life was quite hard in Alaska and I am not so sure that it had a good influence

To: Ms Johanson From: Mari Mets Subject: The factors Estonian students consider important when choosing a job Introduction The aim of this report is to analyse the results of two surveys into the information about which factors Estonian students consider important when choosing a job. The two surveys were carried out in 2005 and 2013. At the end of the report there are some possible reasons for the changes. Grow of importance To start with, the importance had grown 14% for the pay, 15% for the work atmosphere and 20% for work/life balance. The pay has stayed the same in the ranking of importance but the ranking of work/life balance has dropped from fourth to second place. Raamatu ajalugu - kokkuvõte

The body of all written works including books is literature. In novels and sometimes other types of books (e.g. biographies), a book may be divided into several large sections, also called books (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, etc.). A lover of books is usually referred to as a bibliophile, or, more informally, a bookworm. A store where books are bought and sold is a bookstore or bookshop. Books can also be borrowed from libraries. In 2010, Google estimated that there were approximately 130 million unique books in the world. Etymology The word book comes from Old English "bc" which itself comes from the Germanic root "*bk-", cognate to beech. Similarly, in Slavic languages (e.g. Russian, Bulgarian and Macedonian) "" (bukva--"letter") is cognate to "beech". It is thus conjectured that the earliest Indo-European writings may have been carved on beech wood. Similarly, the Latin word codex, meaning a book in

It is a little old house in the woods, but not far from our house there are ohter summer cottages. Mom asked us to be careful, because people were talking about a creature that was hairy, fast and with bloody eyes and sharp teeth. We thought it is unbelivable and funny, just for people could have something to talk about. After all it seemed impossible. We took different way than usually. We walked until we came to an old, ugly, deserted house. Curiosity was so great that we forgot mom's advice. Approaching the house we saw window frames covered with cobwebs . When I first found out we were going to watch a film in our English class, at the beginning I was very sceptic, but after the first 15 minutes I already liked it. In fact, I ended up loving this film. This movie inspires lot's of young people to follow their dreams no matter how far they might have to reach and how difficult it might look in the beginning. The main character is this 11-year-old boy named Billy, played by Jamie Bell. His life is quite miserable as he lives in a small town with his father and an older brother

Almond Blossoms by Vincent Van Gogh

Almond Blossoms by Vincent Van Gogh Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in southern Netherlands. At the age of 37 he commited suicide after years of fighting with mental illness. He died on 27 July 1890. The Almond Blossom is a oil painting done on a canvas. Large white blossom branches like this against a blue sky were one of Van Gogh’s favourite subjects. Almond trees flower early in the spring making them a symbol of new life. They represented awakening and hope. He enjoyed them aesthetically and found joy in painting flowering trees. The blossoms of the apricot, peach and plum trees motivated him, and within a month he had created fourteen paintings of blossoming fruit trees. Towns in Roman Britain

Towns in Roman Britain Ingrit Roosileht 7.Klass 2013 Roman roads The Romans built Britain's first towns. They built towns all over Britain as centers to administer the people they had conquered. Within 17 years of the invasion, they had several major towns connected by the famous Roman roads. Towns soon became important places for meetings and trade. What were Roman towns like? v The Roman towns were full of fine buildings and temples. v Streets were laid out in neat, straight lines, like on a chess- board. In the middle there was a large square, called the forum v Many towns had running water and sewers. Aqueducts were bridges for bringing water to the towns. Only the rich had water piped to their houses; everyone else used water from public fountains. The only toilets were public lavatories, which were built around the town and connected to underground sewers.

“You can never go home again“ Lord of the flies

Kristel Sepp TIK IB 09.10.09 "You can never go home again" "Lord of the flies" The quote "You can never go home again" is related to "Lord of the flies" in both literal and metaphorical sense. Luckily most of the boys could go home in a literal sense but unfortunately some of them were dead by the time rescuers came to save them. When boys were left on the island alone the savages inside them started to appear and there were few quite good reasons for that. The experience on the island changed all of them and when they were finally rescued everyone went home as sort of different persons. In the beginning when boys had just discovered that they are alone in this paradise island they were all innocent and longed for rescue but towards the end they gradually turned into savages who painted their faces, hunted and were willing to kill each other. Essay about NewZealand and Australia

After the Maori arrived to New Zealand, they started to develop into tribes and sub tribes, this tribal system is still in use. Their culture had almost no influence from the rest of the world. They evolved a culture endorsed by agriculture and hunting. Of course the Maori were warriors as well. They had inter-tribal battles, mostly over territory and the losers became slaves or food. Regardless of that they are historically not to be considered as cannibals. There was only one tribe that were, other tribes just kept the heads of their defeated to secure their mana or enemy's power. The Maori had a complex social structure of tribes, sub-tribes and clans and a concrete society made up of nobility, priestly and slave classes. The Maori believed in deities and personifications, such as Tane-mahuta, the lord of the forest, Tawhirimatea and Tangaroa, the Polynesian ocean god. Victorian life - Briti ajalugu

15. Victorian times Life and conditions of Victorian people Children were expected to help towards the family budget. They often worked long hours in dangerous jobs and in difficult situations for a very little wage. For example, there were the climbing boys employed by the chimney sweeps; boys and girls working down the coal mines, crawling through tunnels too narrow and low to take an adult. Some children worked as errand boys, crossing sweepers, shoe blacks, and they sold matches, flowers and other cheap goods. During the Victorian era, the population grew immensely. At the end of 19th century the population had grown three times bigger in Great Britain! That made wages much lower, because more people were looking for jobs

Letter of complaint

Dear Sir/Madam, I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service you offered to my friends and myself during our recent flight on the Eagle Airlines Flight 6048 from Gatwick to Rio de Janeiro on the 26th March at 10.35 pm. Firstly, when we got on the plane, the seats were so cramped that it was impossible to sit on them (although we were promised to travel in style and comfort) and the air stewards didn't even greet us. They sat in the corner and yawned. In addition to previous none of us didn't dare to use the toilets toilets were filthy. We were told that during the flight it's possible to read free newspaper and enjoy feature film. At first there were no newspaper and secondly we could see only children's cartoon. Even though there were no children on the flight.

The Saxons & Vikings

Gildas, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, saints' lives, poetry, archaelogical findings and place- name studies. British landlords ruled small, unstable kingdoms and continued some Roman traditions of governance. In the mid-5th cent, Vertigern, a British leader, hired Germanic mercenaries to help defend against peoples of the north (Picts & Scots). In the end they revolted & the process of invasion and settlement began. The first Saxon ,,kings" were Hengist & Horsa in Kent, Aelle in Sussex, Cerdic / Cynric in Wessex. So the first ,,English" became mainly from Northern Germany & Denmark. The resistance of the Celts was long. They were free at the time, not like other Roman provinces on the Continent. Around 500, the Britons seem to have won several victories. One of their leaders was Ambrosius Aurelianus and one of their victories was at the place called Mount Badon. The

Estonia traditional costumes

Estonia traditional costumes In Estonia traditional costume denotes mainly the festive peasant dress of the 19th century, which in its time referred besides social status also to national background, as the ruling class were mainly German at the time. The former peasant costume of regional variation has become today a national symbol and has turned due to its altered function into a national dress. Estonian country folk produced their clothing mainly from home-spun woollen or linen fabric: shirts and married women's head-wear was mostly made from linen, while various outer garments, gloves, stockings and socks, were made from wool. The majority of the clothes remained undyed for a long time: linen garments were

Aborigeenid (Inglise keeles)

Many of them suffered when white people from Britain arrived in Australia, because of disease, the loss of their hunting lands, and unfair laws. Australian Aborigines are those people regarded as indigenous to the Australian continent. In the High Court of Australia, Australian Aborigines have been specifically identified as a group of people who share, in common, biological ancestry back to the original occupants of the continent. History The first people of Australia were nomadic people who came to Australia from south-east Asia. Scientists don't know exactly when they arrived but it is somewhere between 40000 and 60000 years ago. When British came to Australia in 1788, they called these native people “aboriginals”, meaning people who had lived there since the earliest times. Captain James Cook set the colonization of Australia into motion by exploring and mapping the fertile eastern coast of Australia, but he was not the first to visit Australia

People from that time were the ancestors of the modern British. 10 000 BC ige age ended and Britain became inhabited by small groups of hunters who probably followed herds of deer. 5000BC Britain became an island and deer died out. 3000BC the Neolithic people came (probably from Spanish peninsula or even North African coast). They may be the forefathers of the people from Cornwall and Wales. The building of Stonehenge started around that time. 2400BC the 'Beaker' people arrived in Britain

History of the USA.

who had come from Siberia many thousand years ago by a land bridge. They had spread over the country, varying enormously from nomadic food gatherers to fishing societies. Then the Vikings visited Canada around AD 1000, but they did not stay. In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered America while trying to reach India. He named the native people Indians, because he though he had reached India. He didn't stay either and in the sixteenth century the first Europeans to settle in America were the Spanish, the English and the French. The first village founded by the English settlers was in Virginia in 1607. It was called Jamestown. They didn't have good relations with the Indians and many of them died. But Pocahontas, the daughter of an Indian chief, became their friend and helped them. They started growing tobacco in Virginia, using African slaves in the fields. In 1620 a new group of British settlers reached Plymouth, Massachusetts, with a ship called

The Witch Trials in Salem

Witchcraft Witchcraft is the alleged use of supernatural or magical powers. A witch (from Old English wicca m. / wicce f.) is a practitioner of witchcraft. Historically, it was widely believed that witchcraft involved the use of these powers to inflict harm upon members of a community or their property, and that all witches were in league with the devil. Since the mid 20th century, the term witchcraft has sometimes been used to distinguish between bad witchcraft and good witchcraft, with the latter often involving healing. Human misfortune was often blamed on a supernatural entity or a known person in the community. Reasons for accusations of witchcraft fall into four general categories: · A person was caught in the act of positive or negative sorcery

KIek in de kök

Kiek in de Kök tower The cannon tower Kiek in de Kök was founded in 1475-1483. The name was first recorded in the description of the second siege of Tallinn in 1577 as Kyck in de Kaeken, later on several forms of the same name were used, such as Kik (Kyk) in de Kok, Kiek in die Küche, Pulffer-Thurm Giecken Köck. In 1696 the present name Kiek in de Kök was also mentioned, meaning "peek into the kitchen" in Low German. And true enough, it was possible to watch what the enemy was doing in their "kitchen" i.e. on position lower down from the about 38m-high tower. Already in the late 15th century the tower was somewhat reconstructed. The outer walls were made thicker and the tower got a diameter of 17.3 m

The Broken Rainbow, inglise keele omalooming, vigade parandus

The Broken Rainbow vigade parandus It rained so hard that I couldn’t see anything. Then suddenly, when the rain stopped, I looked out the window. I saw a rainbow, but this rainbow was different – the colours were all wrong! Then I looked around and noticed that all of the colors were different! The colors were like black, grey and white. I wasn’t able to understand what was going on. Then I saw a big wave coming. I thought that I was going to die. I started to run. I ran to the forest. There were also everything wrong. The trees were black and their leaves were brown and white, instead of green. I wasn’t able to understand anything. I saw things that could not be possible and thing that I had never seen before. I got out of the woods. I reached the town gates. They were locked
