Much of the area is treeless tundra. In the summer months, the sun stays up for the whole day, never setting. The permanent frozen layer of earth there makes construction a real challenge. Perhaps Canada's most famous animal is the moose. They, along with grizzly bears, are the most well-known of its many mammals. Gray wolves are also very popular in Canadian large wild spaces. There are plenty others, though. The wolverine is a large member of the weasels' family. It has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion with its size, with the documented ability to kill pray many times larger than itself.
