If you have created something, then try to be open minded

If you have created something, then try to be open minded Teacher: O'Mahony V.PG 11A 09.03.2009 This written essay here is talking about my thoughts and facts of life, what is around us. First I thought that why is always easier to create something but to destroy is much harder. Exactly there have been so many wars in history. Everybody wanted to own a lot of countries and others had to fight for their created country. Also they started to teach young people to kill and protect their country with killing enemies. Also government tried to keep a low profile, if there were some wars in state. These are my thoughts of creating and keeping something. In the old times were many wars. Some states predominated over other weaker countries or states

The Middle Ages

The final outcome was that the King's promises were ignored, and the oppression of the peasants continued. In 1382 the Bible was translated into English by John Wycliffe. In 1399 Richard II was succeeded by his grandson Henry IV. He lead England until 1413 and was then succeeded by his son Henry V. Henry V reign lasted until 1422. In 1422 his son Henry VI got on the throne. In 1453 the Hundred Years War ends. The only English possession on Continental Europe was Calais. Already in 1455 the Wars of the Roses began. The Wars of the Roses were a series of civil wars fought in medieval England from 1455 to 1487 between the House of Lancaster and the House of York. In 1461 the youngest son of Edward III, Edward IV, was crowned as the new king of England. He lead England until 1483 and was succeeded by Edward V. Edward V's reign lasted only for a few months. In 1483 Richard III got the power. He brought the Middle Ages to an end. In 1485 Henry VII succeeded Richard III. He

Human has always been greedy, always want to be a wealthy and command everyone, but others do not let him do that. People do not let command and force themselves and this is the reason why wars begin. Peoples misunderstanding goes so far, when they tap more powerful and deadful methods. Human nature is evolved move and stand their own point of view. Human never let do something bad with them and their kindrad. Peace and keeping

Peace and keeping What is peace? It is a state of harmony and the absence of hostility and wars. It sounds simple and easy, but for some reason, throughout the history, it has been very difficult to actually keep peace. Why then is it so important? Firstly, when there is peace, people are happy. Friendly relations with neighbours and different countries give people an oppurtunity to live normal lives. However, for example, when there are some tensions between two countries, the people of those countries would live in constant fear and threat.

The truth pushes our world forward

The truth pushes our world forward 1. Truth has helped us to study and learn more about our world, not like religion and bible have done. Religion did not let science to evolve, but thanks to the sciences like Galileo Galilei science evolved because he was brave enough to say that earth is not the centre of the world. 2. Truth always comes out, Crusade wars began because of Turks conquered the holy lands and mistreated the Christians not because Christians wanted to increase their religion that happened later after the Crusade wars. 3. The Bible put humans to believe that we all are Childs of Adam and Eve but in fact humans evolved from apes and the truth helped the science to find the real origin of people. 4. Many people say that they have seen UFO-s but most of us do not believe them and the truth of alien

for all its material richness, but they also brought with them diseases that hit the Indians hard. Conflicts developed between the Native Americans and the Invaders, the latter arriving in overwhelming numbers, as many "as the stars in heaven". The Europeans were accustomed to own land and laid claim to it while they considered the Indians to be nomads with no interest to claim land ownership. The conflicts led to the Indian Wars, the Indian Removal Act empowered by President Andrew Jackson in 1830 and other acts instituted by the Europeans in order to accomplish their objectives, as they viewed them at the time. In these wars the Indian tribes were at a great disadvantage because of their modest numbers, nomadic life, lack of advanced weapons, and unwillingness to cooperate, even in their own defense. The end of the wars more or less coincided with the end of the 19th century. The last

TEXT The Irish Problem

There was now no part of Ireland where Catholics owned more than ½ of the land. The main reason for this was Cromwell's belief in fundamental Protestantism and hatred of Catholicism. He claimed to be acting on God's behalf and expelled about 1000 Catholic priests from Ireland. ~New Modal Army~ The New Model Army of England was formed in 1645 by the Parliamentarians in the English Civil War, and was disbanded in 1660 after the Restoration. It differed from other armies in the series of civil wars referred to as the Wars of the Three Kingdoms in that it was intended as an army liable for service anywhere in the country (including in Scotland and Ireland), rather than being tied to a single area or garrison. Its soldiers became full-time professionals, rather than part-time militia. To establish a professional officer corps, the army's leaders were prohibited from having seats in either the House of Lords or House of Commons. This was to

It has created the reputation by being one of the world's largest industrial powers. The industrial revolution with WWI was that brought the British Empire to the peak of its expansion. Imperial contributions had strengthened the British war effort, and victory brought to country mandates over new territories, such as Palestine, Iraq, and some territories in Africa. World War I, known also as the First World War, Great War and War to End All Wars was a global military conflict. Over 15 million people were killed. It was one of the deadliest conflicts in human history. The proximate cause was the 28 June 1914 assassination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria by some Bosnian-Serb nationalist. The war soon spread worldwide. As the result, it was the end of four major imperial powers. The Treaty of Versailles which was signed at the end of WWI and it is often said that it eventually lead to the beginning of World War II in 1939.

Woman and management

I think that it was pretty fair that women were only at home in action with children at this time, because business were not so developed as the whole society. Good sence of authority, ability to take risks and decisiveness which are akin to men´s characteristics were good to lay the foundation for business. But also I think that going to business should not be forbidden to women. The advent of the indrustial revolution and during the World Wars, while men were at the front, women took charge of the factory work and many other practical jobs. Thanks to suffragettes, women became enfranchised. Nowadays women are successfully pursuaded in a senior management. I think that bringing justice into business is justified, because many skills of a good modern manager - good communication skills, thoroughness, cooperativeness and a willingness to consult - are more likely to be found in women than in men.

The transition from sugar beet During the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815) Napoleon blocked sea "roads" to prevent the importation of sugar ships. As a result, the sugar cane began to look for replacements. Found that sugar beet can be separated. Beet-sugar was very low at that time, however, and sugar prices rose. After the Napoleonic wars the French abandoned the stock trades under the control of sugar cane, and became available again. Beet-sugar production died. The situation changed again,

The Middle Ages

He was forced to sign Magna Carta, the Great Charter (symbol of freedom, hundreds of years later it was used by Parliament to protect itself from a powerful king),in 1215, but was unwilling to keep to the agreement. The nobles rebelled and civil war was avoided only because John died suddenly. John's son Henry became King as Henry III. He was then 9 years old and until the age of 20 he was under the control of powergul nobles. When he became independent, he became involved in wars & got foreign advisers. This upset the nobles. Their leader Simon de Montfort took over the government and called a Great Council in 1258. It included knights, barons & bishops. It forced Henry III to get rif of his foreign advisers and he signed a document in Oxford. In 1265 de Montfort called Parliament. For the first time nobles & spokesmen from both towns & shires met. It was made up of barons, bishops and abbots as usual, but also included 2 knights from every hire and 2

Should the monarchy be abolished

Many nations formerly with absolute monarchies, such as Morocco, have moved towards constitutional monarchies, although the monarch retains tremendous power. Among the few states that give the monarch claimed full power (both head of state and government) are Brunei, and Saudi Arabia. Should we support other countries to abolishing the monarchy? This is not a yes or no question. Throughout history monarchies have been abolished either through legislative reforms, a coup (a coup d'etat), or wars. In my idea people should not live under somebody wills. If state has a well working system and everybody accept it, then I am happy for them and I guess other people are thinking the same. We can accept and take monarchs as some kind of a symbol of state. They should not have the total power over everything. Like children need fairy dales, grown-up need to believe in a safety and better world- everything to make tomorrow even better.

Powerpoint William Blake'st (inglise keeles)

Later life and career Blake's marriage to Catherine remained a close and devoted one until his death. Blake taught Catherine to write, and she helped him to colour his printed poems. William and Catherine's first daughter and last child might be Thel described in The Book of Thel who was conceived as dead. Politics Blake was not active in any well-established political party Blake was both concerned about senseless wars of kingdoms, and the blighting effects of the industrial revolution. Much of his poetry recounts in symbolic allegory the effects of the French and American revolutions. Death On the day of his death, Blake worked on his Dante series. Eventually, it is reported, he ceased working and turned to his wife, who was in tears by his bedside. Beholding her, Blake is said to have cried, "Stay Kate! Keep just as you are I will draw your portrait for you have ever been an angel to me." Having

Nali: The World According to Student Bloopers

Actually, Homer was not written by Homer but by another man of that name. Socrates was a famous Greek teacher who went around giving people advice. They killed him. Socrates died from an overdose of wedlock. In the Olympic Games, Greeks ran races, jumped, hurled the biscuits, and threw the java. The reward to the victor was a coral wreath. The government of Athen was democratic because the people took the law into their own hands. There were no wars in Greece, as the mountains were so high that they couldn't climb over to see what their neighbors were doing. When they fought the Parisians, the Greeks were outnumbered because the Persians had more men. Eventually, the Ramons conquered the Geeks. History call people Romans because they never stayed in one place for very long. At Roman banquets, the guests wore garlic in their hair. Julius Caesar extinguished himself on the battlefields of Gaul

The themes dealt with in a book are simply not relevant.

The themes dealt with in a book are simply not relevant to young people today When we create a chart of things that young people like to do in their free time, reading would probably not be in the first three. Is it related to the themes discussed in books and are those themes irrelevant to young people today? Obligatory books in basic school and gymnasium, are mostly from the previous century or from even earlier. Those books are mainly discussing love, wars and relations having one but those books don't talk about everything. They have their confines and mainly concentrate on descriptions and less on the story. But young people want their own picture from the book, they don't need every detail described. When we think more about the themes disussed in obligatory books, then they are also hold in check. Here is the second problem, youngsters can't relate to those topics. For example,

THE HISTORY OF JOURNALISM

Here are some examples of ancient journalism: Nicolas of Damascus - chief advisor to King Herod the Great, Nicolas also wrote the history of those days during Herod's life. (The work is mostly lost, but Josephus relied on it as a source.) Nicolas wrote from 14 to 4 BC, relying on his own current, ongoing experience and Herod's memoirs. Julius Caesar - not a king (yet) and he wrote it himself, but he chronicled his Gallic Wars and Civil Wars in true journalistic fashion. Also, Caesar did it deliberately to provide source material for future historians. About "nowadays" journalism: Johann Carolus's "Relation aller Fürnemmen und gedenckwürdigen Historien", published in 1605 in Strassburg, is often recognized as the first newspaper. The first successful English daily, the Daily Courant, was published from 1702 to 1735.The first dedicated school for journalism,

The best things in life are free

manners but also there are plenty of poor people who demonstrate perfect manners and respect for others. The amount of money you have doesn't show if you behave well or poorly. Manners and classy behavior are not bought, they are taught and practiced by parents who want their children to be decent and well-mannered. Money can buy you entry into a better class position, but it cannot make you behave as you should. If money could buy peace there would be no wars or conflicts between different countries. Even if the governments spend money to make the world more peaceful place it still won't work as they really want. Peace isn't something you can buy or make with money. It's about treating others fair and humanely, just as we want others to treat us. And as I said money can't buy good behaviour which is the base of the peace. Unfortunately people find there more desires connected with money but we should me aware of valuable things that we can't buy
