know what name a customer will use for their virtual machine.
A folder, named after the GUID of the virtual machine, will be
created to store the virtual machine’s configuration files. The virtual hard
disk(s) of the virtual machine will be stored in the root of the folder that is
specified in the host settings, and not in a subfolder for the virtual
machine. The virtual hard disk is named after the virtual machine (for
example, New Virtual Machine.VHDX). You cannot have two identically
named files in the same folder, and this will cause a failure in the creation
process. It is strongly recommended that you select the option to Store
The Virtual Machine In A Different Location. By choosing this option, the
wizard will create a subfolder named after the virtual machine in the path
of your choosing.
