What are the benefits and dangers of building new factories?

What are the benefits and dangers of building new factories? Many successful companies increase their production by building factories. People tend to say it has completly negative effect on them. Do factories affect us unfavourbly or can they also be positive? On the one hand, there are some advantages of building new factories. Firstly, unemployed people get new job. Secondly, country gets huge income from successful company. Next, if factories uses recyclable material, it would save earths resources and also slow down global warming. On the other hand, there are some throwbacks as well. Firstly, companies which do not have experience with factories might produce an enormous amount of air pollution. Social problems in England - tekst

Neo-Nazi David Copeland placed homemade nailbombs at public places directed to african and bangladeshian communities and killing 13 and injuring 139 people.,. Petty crimes are commited everywhere nowadays and include various traffic violations, drunkenness in public, disturbing the peace and public nuisances. England has one of the worst crime rates among developed nations for burglaries and robberies 4) When people are unemployed they don't have a permanent income so their life may be quite problematic. As every human has needs so have the unemployed and when they don't have the required resources they might have to satisfy their needs by criminal ways, but it is also possible to live on the unemployed benfits given by the country. History of the USA.

At the beginning of the 19th century many settlers came to America, in search for a better life. By the middle of the 19th century there were already 34 states in the USA. The United States grew to be one of the great powers of the world. The nation fought in the First World War. After the war women got the right to vote for the first time. In 1929 the Great Depression began with the stock market crash. Banks, factories and farms shut down and many Americans were unemployed. Franklin D. Roosevelt, who won the presidential election in 1932, promised a New Deal. Over the next two years, millions of unemployed were given jobs and numerous measures were also taken to help the farmers. In 1941 the United States entered the Second World War when Japan attacked the Hawaiian Islands. The war ended in 1945 when the USA dropped the atomic bombs on two Japanese cities and made Japan to surrender. Today about 30 million of 260 million Americans are black

Technology - for or against

Moreover, as we live in the information society, collecting data is essential for us. It is also more comfortable to search for information without having to leaf through an encyclopedia and using a contemporary computer instead.. On the other hand, up-to-date technology may replace human's labour. We entrust technology a lot of duties, so that it can have harmful consequences. If technology progresses, there will be no need for human's work. As a result, the part of population will become unemployed. Furthermore, technology has an effect on psyche, especially children are at risk of it. They lose themselves in the individualistic activities and a bedroom becomes a place to socialise. All in all, technology has as positive and as negative effect. It will be beneficial if we appreciate humanity more than technology and do not forget about its cons.

Political parties in the US

The other is the Republican party, which was formed by people in the states of the North and West, such as Abraham Lincoln, who wanted the government to prevent the expansion of slavery into new states then being admitted to the union. Most Americans today consider the Democratic party the more liberal party. Democrats believe the federal government and the state governments should be active in providing social and economic programs for those who need them, such as the poor, the unemployed or students who need money to go to college. Republicans are not necessarily opposed to such programs. They believe, however, that many social programs are too costly to the taxpayers and that when taxes are raised to pay for such programs, everyone is hurt. They often accuse the Democrats of making the government too expensive and of creating too many laws that harm individual initiative. For that reason, Americans tend to think of the Republican party as more conservative.

A business student´s insight into life in Estonia

Also the Skype is partly invented by estonians. A lot of talented people come from Estonia. Interesting about Estonia is that, although it is very small coutry it is still really popular among foreign stuents. It means that we have good education system. Consequently we can say that estonians are tolerant and foreign students feel comfortabe while living Estonia. Negative side is unemployment. It has decreased compared with the last year, but it is still too high. Also a lot of young people are unemployed. It might be caused by the economical crisis, which stopped in fall 2010. Now our economy has risen and situatsion is going to be better. In conclusion i would like to say that life in Estonia is good. The economy is not in a bad situation any more and we can get through the difficulties. Estonia is a little country but Estonians are hardworking and they can achive a lot, when they really want something.

For and against globalization

If all markets are connected with each other then they will start to compete and that removes inefficient producers. Furthermore it will rise the quality of products higher and reduces their cost. Secondly different products and technological progresses are going to spread faster all over the globe. It gives unlimited access for the poorer people all over the Word to get the cheapest source of desired goods and services. Thirdly removing trading barriers help unemployed people to get jobs and deincrease the effect of the nowaday monopolies and explotation of the citizenz by the local businessmen. One point in favour of globalization is that it causes faster economic growth in all countries including the poor countries, lower prices of foods, drugs, clothes and shelter. Greater opportunities for skilled persons both locally and abroad and of course better understanding among the peoples of different countries.

Wealth does not bring happiness. True or false?

True or false? Everybody dreams of being wealthier than they currently are. Obviously it's not only our fault that we do, we get that in media every day. Every single day we see people richer than we'll ever be on television. Some of them surely spend a lot, have fun and tell us how good life is. Others invest their money wisely and never seem to spend a dime. That sort of people are usually older than the wasters. Living in a country with almost 10% of the people unemployed, we're jealous of both. Probably almost every day we catch ourselves on a thought, "I wish I was that rich, I wish I was the man on TV." No matter how hard we try though, we won't. It's nearly impossible to win a lottery and there frankly isn't any other ways of getting rich very quickly. But how many other people would know to tell us about if wealth brings happiness or not? All the other rich people have been rich for their whole lives, they don't have anything to compare

Which is better-a well paid job or an interesting and fulfilling job?

Which is better-a well paid job or an interesting and fulfilling job? Choosing a profession is an important decision in life. It is often speculated if the job should be chose based on a salary or persons interests. The aim of this essay is to find out which job is better-an well paid one or fulfilling one. It is clear that people work to get money, but it is also said that money does not make you happy. You can not purchase friends, family or health and these are the most important things in life. In addition job greatly affects the life in general. So, when the job is unchallenging, the life becomes boring too. Money is not the most important thing in life. When people choose profession based on a salary, they could later realize that the work is unsatisfying. We hear a lot of stories about people, who first studied law, but understood later, that they are not into that. In most cases parents force their children to study a profess...

mines. Later, the new cotton mills, which had been built near fastflowing rivers to take advantage of water power, almost all switched to steam. Gradually, mills began to move toward the centres of population. At first, steam power was used mainly for spinning, but eventually weaving was also powered by steam engine. By 1819, the year of Watt's death, there were 18 steam weaving factories in Glasgow, with 2800 looms. (This was excellent news for factory owners, but hundreds of unemployed handloom weavers were not so happy.) Despite his success, Watt was a rather insecure and jealous man, who did not like others having their own ideas. When one employee of the company, a man named William Murdoch, experimented with high pressure steam engines, Watt discouraged him from patenting and continuing his work, even though his engines were potentially much better and smaller than the ones Watt himself had invented. Murdoch never patented his design, and

Second Im going to talk about studying business in Estonia and third Im going to talk about business in industrial sector. FIRST: Estonia is a relatively small country in the northern part of Europe. Estonia is strategically placed in the business corridor, between the Scandinavian countries (EU) and other eastern European countries, including Russia. Estonia has suffered from economic Chrisis as many ohter European countries and compared to ohter bigger countries like Spain and Greece, Estonia has managed to recover from the Chrisis quite well. The number of unemployed people has reduced, still many private companies have struggles due to the fact that the income of consumers has been low and the ability to consume products provided by the companies has...

countries? There `s no easy answer to this problem. Some have consciously rejected ( ) society, others feel that society has rejected them. Still others prefer the life of a tramp. It may be difficult but they are free no boss telling them what to do, no family to restrict ( ) them . Homelessness can be caused by war, fire, flood, or similar emergency, violence in the home, divorce, unemployment, or a shortage ( ) of low-cost housing . Homeless people tend to be single, middle- aged, unemployed, and lacking in qualifications. Many have a history of violence in the home, and many suffer from psychological disorders, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Homelessness creates a sense of failure ( ) and results in isolation, loss of self- esteem ( ) , and loss of control over the most basic decisions and acts of everyday life such as when and what to eat, and where and when to wash. The number of homeless has been growing in recent years, especially among the young.

Introduction to macroeconomics

months or years. These fluctuations occur around a long-term growth trend, and typically involve shifts over time between periods of relatively rapid economic growth (expansion or boom), and periods of relative stagnation or decline (contraction or recession). · important phenomenon associated with cyclical fluctuations is unemployment, (people seeking work cannot find it, even when the economy is growing rapidly). The unemployment rate is the ratio of the number of unemployed workers to the size of the labour force. The labour force consists of · those who are either working or are actively looking for a job. In comparison with the total population, it leaves out - young people who are not yet working, - the old who are retired, - and those who do not wish to work--or have given up hope of working. Inflation refers to the rate of change of the average level of prices.

helping to address British fears about German expansion in the Near East. And so the "splendid isolation" ended. Impact of WWI Variously throughout the war, serious shortage of able-bodied men ("manpower") occurred in the country, and women were required to take on many of the traditional male roles, particularly in the area of arms manufacture; though this was only significant in the later years of the war, since unemployed men were often prioritised by employers. But when men went to war, then women took over their jobs. The war also caused a split in the British suffragette movement, calling a 'ceasefire' in their campaign for the duration of the war. In contrast, more radical suffragettes, like the Women's Suffrage Federation, continued their (at times violent) struggle. Women were also allowed to join the armed forces in a non-combatant role and by the end of the War 80,000 women had

Imagination is the power to see what is not there, to experience what has not yet come to be, to walk in the past or in the future. The English people have little time for visions, they have no leisure in which to dream. The man in the street must see a society that is strong and safe in the comfort of a wide association of states, a community in which no man is poor or unemployed, in which there is no servility to the pomp of wealth and no which children are the free and happy citizens. This society does not yet exist, but only because we do not see it. There is nothing in this humble vision of a better social order that exceeds our physical or our intellectual power to create. We fail to secure these infinitely desirable ends because we do not see them, the world we can have for the asking. No vested interest and no

When developing the character, the show's creators had observed that most groups of childhood friends in small middle-class towns always included "the one poor kid", and decided to portray Kenny in this light, as well as portraying him as being eager to do and say disgusting things in an attempt to impress others. Kenny comes from a poor household, resided over by his violent, alcoholic and unemployed parents, Stuart and Carol McCormick. Kenny is fond of toilet humor and pornography, and when it comes to sexually-related subjects, he is the most knowledgeable of the group. Others will typically ask for his explanation of sexual matters unknown to them. Kenny's lechery is also one of his prominent characteristics; his bedroom walls are frequently shown to adorn posters of bikini-clad models, and he has lusted over several girls and women over the course of the series

to be called the Roaring Twenties, ended suddenly in October 1929 with the Wall Street 8 crash. The crash was the result of a long period of over production by the nation's factories and farms. This crash marked the beginning of the worst depression in American history known as the Great Depression. F. D. Roosevelt was the one who helped America out of it. He won the 1932 presidential elections. Over the next two years, millions of unemployed were given jobs and emergency relief was provided. Relations with Japan worsened and on the morning of 7 December 1941 the Japanese attacked the American naval base in at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii. World War II had started. The war ended in 1945 after the Americans had dropped 2 atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Britain history.

depressed economies struggled to recover from the war effort. It was a period of great social unrest and mistrust between various classes. Unemployment was high, wages low and there were numerous strikes by all the unions in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the owners of the coal mines cutting miners' wages. The great Depression of the 1930s actually began with the collapse of American financial markets in 1929. Over three million people out of workforce of 14 million were unemployed. The formation of a National Coalition Government, including Conservative leaders and former Labour Party leaders, proved to be no solution. The next monarch was Edward VIII. He was deeply in love with Mrs Wallis Simpson, an American divorcee, whom he could not marry because Britain's sovereign was the titular Head of the Church of England, which did not sanction remarriage of divorced persons. Finally Edward chose love over duty and his brother Albert was declared King George VI.
