several students and their parents. Why mobile phones are necessary 1 Some students chat in English and find this helpful. 2 It might be necessary to phone home if a student has transport problems. 3 Students' parents might need to contact them urgently if some other emergency have had occurred Recommendations Everyone agrees that mobile phones can be irritating but they can be extremely useful at times. Students should check that phones are switched off before classes start. We do not believe they should be banned. Kristjan Heinrand 12b
DO 1. Always check that dials are set correctly. 2. Ensure that the needle is in the highest position before removing. 3. Keep hair tied up. 4. When the machine is working, there must be only one worker behind it. 5. Test stitch on a scrap of fabric. 6. Turn off the power when threading the needle and changing the bobbin. 7. Make sure foot pedal wiring is tidy and kept away from moving parts. 8. Turn off the sewing machine before removing the plug from socket. 9. Make sure the machine is switched off and the foot pedal is packed away when finished. DO NOT 1. Do not put your fingers near the needle when the machine is working. 2. Do not sew over pins placed in the fabric. 3. Do not leave needles loose on the table or on the floor when not using them. 4. Do not put pins or needles in your mouth. 5. Do not use bent or broken needles. 6. Do not get distracted while working with the machine. 7. Do not attempt to operate a machine until you know how to use it correctly.
Why learn English? Nowadays English plays a major international role. Personally I believe, that in order to survive in present society we have to, at least, know the basic English, because almost everything is based on English. Firstly English is the international language and knowing English shows the eruditeness of people, because every person who considers him or herself to be educated has learnt it. English has switched places with Latin, which once was the language of educated people. Not to mention the fact that people can use it for communication with eachother. In my opinion it is not necessary to learn that country's mother tongue while most of the people are able to talk in English. I find that English connects different people and helps us to feel like a big multicultural family. In addition to that it is a whole lot easier to find a job abroad, if you are fluent in English,

Watt hit upon the idea of condensing the steam in a separate place. This removed the need for heating and cooling, making the engine faster, safer, and it used a lot less fuel. A stone in Glasgow Green marks this spot, where the industrial revolution really began. Watt's engines were initially used for pumping water from copper mines. Later, the new cotton mills, which had been built near fastflowing rivers to take advantage of water power, almost all switched to steam. Gradually, mills began to move toward the centres of population. At first, steam power was used mainly for spinning, but eventually weaving was also powered by steam engine. By 1819, the year of Watt's death, there were 18 steam weaving factories in Glasgow, with 2800 looms. (This was excellent news for factory owners, but hundreds of unemployed handloom weavers were not so happy.) Despite his success, Watt was a rather insecure and jealous man, who
Young hacker Jonathan Joseph James Lets move on to Jonathan Joseph James was born on the 12 December, 1983. He was an American hacker who was the first juvenile incarcerated for cybercrime in the United States. He was a passionate computer geek, who started playing with family computer at the age of 6 and he switched his own computer from Windows to linux in middel school. He really liked computers and he said that the hard part isnt getting into the systems but its learning to know what it is that your doing. So he studid all these books therefore he knew Unix system and C programming like the back of his hand. James committed a series of intrusions into various systems, like BellSouth and the Miami- Dade school system. What brought him to the attention of federal authorities, however, was
350 floats and 15,000 costumed paraders take over the scene. Symbols The millions of colorful beaded necklaces thrown from floats are the most visible symbols and souvenirs of Mardi Gras. The tradition of throwing beads and small trinkets from Mardi Gras parade floats dates back almost as long as the parades themselves. Originally, the beaded necklaces were made from glass, but the Krewes switched to plastic in the mid 1900s. Throws started in the 1920s when Rex and a few other Krewes started throwing small trinkets. In addition, millions of cups, stuffed animals, plastic cups, small toys and even bags and toy coins known as "doubloons"are decorated with krewe logos and thrown to parade-watchers. Mardi Gras around the world In Ireland, Australia, and Canada, Mardi Gras is known as "Pancake Tuesday", while in Britain it is popularly known as "Pancake Day".
I think maybe nobody ever told him "Jazz playing on horn is very difficult, and probably not natural" or perhaps the phrase does not translate into Russian. I'd walk on a camel for a mile to hear this guy. ''Jazz Times Magazine wrote:“His control of the instrument, and his blowing creativity have set a new standard, even Julius Watkins, his idol never produced such results.” Arkady Shilkloper was born in 1956, in Moscow, Russia. He began to study alto horn at the age of six and switched to French horn in 1967. At the age of eleven he entered the Moscow Military Music School. One of most unusual Russian musicians, Arkady plays French horn, flugelhorn, alphorn and many more wind instruments. From 1978 to 1985 he was a member of the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre. With this world-famous orchestra and as a member of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra from 1985 to 1989, he undertook numerous worldwide concert tours.
began teaching us French. But it was awkward and I'm not sure they themselves knew what they were doing or why. I can recall we cut out some pictures and glued them to a book and wrote some words up. I also recall the pronounciation was simplified for us, for example, they taught us "gööl" as the correct way to say "girl" etc. They never mentioned that it's not exactly correct... But well, then I switched schools and met the most important man of my life – my English teacher. He had three masters – in English, in German and in Physical Education. He had also written the school hymn. He was very stern with us and made us study like crazy. You made one tiny mistake, and it was "4", two mistakes made a "3" and so on. He was an awesome teacher. He said we can talk in his class as much as we want provided we do it in English. He also had us count the passing

vähem masin ja rohkem muusikainstrument, peeti Moogi süntesaatorit alguses kurioosumiks, kuid aastal 1968 tekitas see täieliku sensatsiooni. 1967 kasutas Moogi süntesaatorit ansambli "The Monkees" liige Micky Dolenz, kes oli ostnud ühe kolmest esimesest Moogi süntesaatorist. Ta salvestas Moogi heli "The Monkees"'i neljandale albumile (Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.), mis kujunes esimeseks kassahitiks, millel on keskne roll süntesaatoril. 1968 publitseeris Wendy Carlos plaadi "Switched-On Bach", mida müüdi üle miljoni eksemplari. "Switched-On Bach" on kuni tänapäevani üks enammüüdud klassikalise muusika salvestisi. 1960-ndate lõpus kasutati Moogi süntesaatorit sadade heliplaatide valmistamisel. Moogi süntesaator tekitas isegi omaette plaaditootjate Moog recordings subkultuuri, milles edukama reklaami ja müügi huvides kasutati heliplaatidel süntesaatoreid (mis mitte alati polnud isegi tingimata Moogi süntesaatorid). It stays away from towns. Where it passes near Cooper Pedy in South Australia, it’s actually a tourist attraction, visited on bus tour. People go and touch it. Children like to climb it. The fence marks the dividing line between cattle (outside) and sheep (inside). Inside is where dingoes, legally classified as vermin, are shot, poisoned and trapped. Sheep and dingoes do not mix. Stations that once sheared 100.000 sheep suffered so many kills that their owners switched to cattle. Others fought back with massive poisoning campaigns and shooting drives. Stations reported annual kills of hundreds of dogs. Day after day people, singly or in pairs travel at the fence filling their days by patrolling at the fence. They fill in the holes, set the traps, replace post, close the gates, and shoot dingoes. Natural forces conspire against the fence. Floods wash it away, rust eats it up, blowing sand buries it, and falling trees crush it. Then there are the animals
important. Put simply, these students just aren't very interested in the hard work that goes with rock-solid reporting, and they usually disappear after a semester. Ambition helps. Newsrooms are known for being full of type-A personalities, people who are driven to get ahead and rise to the top. Again, I've had my share of ambitious students over the years, but a fair number of them decided there wasn't enough money in news to make it worth their while. More often than not they switched their majors to business, or headed for law school. So who does do well, at least in my journalism program? What kinds of students end up finding careers in news? Here are a few traits common to the successful journalism students I've seen over the years. They find their passion. I've had any number of students who, upon seeing their first byline in the student newspaper, have that moment when a light bulb switches on above their heads.
skateboarder Tony Hawk. At this point Hawk befriended the nine-year-old White at a local skatepark and mentored him, helping him turn pro in skateboarding at the age of 17. White has gone on to win many titles on his skateboard, most notably winning the overall title of Action Sports Tour Champion, as well as being the first person to compete in and win both the Summer and Winter X Games in two different sports. Following in his older brother's footsteps, White switched from skiing to snowboarding at age six, and by age seven he received his first sponsorship. White has participated in two Winter Olympics in his career. At both the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, White won gold in the snowboard halfpipe event. White has also participated in the Winter X Games, where he has won a medal every year since 2002. Including all winter X Games competitions through 2009, his medal count stands at 15 (10

The evidence Amy finds leads her to suspect Elizabeth cheated on the state exam. Amy informs the principal and gets Carl to testify against her. However, Elizabeth took embarrassing photos of Carl while he was drugged and uses them to blackmail him to say she is innocent. Having noticed her desk was switched, Elizabeth informs the principal that some teachers in the school are doing drugs. When the police bring a sniffer dog to search the school, they find drugs in Amy's classroom, in Elizabeth's desk. Amy is moved to another school by the superintendent. Scott asks Elizabeth to start over, but Elizabeth rejects him in favor of a relationship with Russell. When the new school year starts, Elizabeth is kinder to her co-workers, has started a
In fact, today it is quite common for internet providers to provide their customers VoIP calls at very low cost, if any, in addition to standard xDSL connectivity. The VoIP uses Internet protocol (IP) to send digitized voice traffic over the Internet or private networks. An IP packet consists of a train of digits containing a control header and a data payload. The header provides network navigation information for the packet, and the payload contains the compressed voice data. While circuit-switched telephony deals with the entire message, VoIP-based data transmission is packet-based, so that chunks of data are packetized (separated into units for transmission), compressed, and sent across the network--and eventually re-assembled at the designated receiving end. The key point is that there is no need for a dedicated link between transmitter and receiver. Packetizing voice data involves adding header and trailer information to the data blocks.
Sellistel süsteemidel on tähtis osa PSTN-s ehk Public switched telephone network ehk üldkasutatavad telefonivõrgud, kus kasutatakse siiani kiiret arvutivõrgu viita äärealadel, kus pole majanduslikult otstarbekas kasutada kiude. Koaksiaalkaablitel on väga suur ülekandekiirus, et digitaalsignaale kasutades muutub suureks

In the same way that early birds developed feathers before they could fly, we had the mental tools for complex language before we developed it. We started with language-like symbols as a way to represent the world around us, he says. For example, before you say a word, your brain first has to have a symbolic representation of what it means. These mental symbols eventually led to language in all its complexity and the ability to process
The Pew Research Center projections attempt to incorporate patterns in religious switching in 70 countries where surveys provide information on the number of people who say they no longer belong to the religious group in which they were raised. In the projection model, all directions of switching are possible, and they may be partially offsetting. In the United States, for example, surveys find that some people who were raised with no religious affiliation have switched to become Christians, while some who grew up as Christians have switched to become unaffiliated. These types of patterns are projected to continue as future generations come of age. (For more details on how and where switching was modeled, see the Methodology. For alternative growth scenarios involving either switching in additional countries or no switching at all, see Chapter 1.) Over the coming decades, Christians are expected to experience the largest net losses from switching

In 1994 Disney switched from McDonald's to Burger King, signing a ten film promotional contract which would include such top ten films as Aladdin (1992), Beauty and the Beast (1991), The Lion King (1994) and Toy Story (1995). under study (Tabel ). Individual boilers and stoves for wood and gas cover more than one-half of the heat use in households. Gas is the most widely used heating source for residences and it is expanding at the expense of district heating . Tabel shows that district heating has large problems with competitiveness and customer relations. Today, the DH consumption is just one-half of the previous use. Many district heating users switched to gas due to low gas prices and heavy, government-regulated DH price increases , whereas households and district heating plants had the same gas price. 98828 volts This is not exactly 3v, but it is as close as we can get with an 8-bit converter and a 5v reference. An 8-bit successive approximation ADC can do a conversion in 8 clocks, regardless of the input voltage. More logic is required than for the tracking ADC, but the conversion speed is consistent and usually faster. Dual-Slope (Integrating) ADC A dual-slope converter (Figure 2.4) uses an integrator followed by a com- parator, followed by counting logic. The integrator input is first switched to the input signal, and the integrator output charges toward the input voltage. After a specified number of clock cycles, the integrator input is switched to a reference voltage (VREF1 in Figure 2.4) and the integrator charges down toward this value. When the switch occurs to VREF1, a counter is started, and it counts using the same clock that determined the original integration time. When the inte- grator output falls past a second reference voltage (VREF2 in Figure 2.4), the
Traffic was going to be bursty, meaning that there will be intervals of activity followed by a period of inactivity ie sending a message and then waiting for a response or contemplating the received response. Thus three groups of researchers, unaware of each others’ research, began inventing packet switching as an alternative to circuit switching. This pretty much laid down groundwork for nowadays Internet. In 67(I think?) the overall plan for ARPAnet was published, the first packet-switched computer network and the ancestor of today’s Internet. By 72 ARPAnet had grown from four to fifteen nodes and the first host-to-host protocol was completed. Since the latter was created, it was possible to begin developing applications. 1972-80 The initial ARPAnet was a solitary, closed network. To communicate with a host one had to be physically connected to another ARPAnet IMP. In the mid-seventies, other packet switching networks were created - ALOHAnet, DARPA, Telenet etc.

When the outside of the bath was thermally isolated and the same experiment was carried out, the temperature of the bath reached a temperature of approximately 44oC 2.2.2 Unsteady state experiments The water in the isolated bath was heated up to approximately 80 oC, which was measured with a calibrated thermometer. The electrical heater was then switched off and a given flow rate of water was set inside the coil. The experiment began with starting a timer from zero and reading the three temperatures (temperature of bath and the inlet and outlet temperatures of the water flowing inside the coil). Every other reading was taken with a five minute interval, until the bath had been cooled down to approximately 25 oC. It was repeated with four different agitation rates of 618 rpm, 980 rpm, 1342 rpm and 1703 rpm, respectively and each

dialects). Some of these features such as akanye and yakanye, a debuccalized or lenited //, a semivowel /wu/ and palatalized final /t/ in 3rd person forms of verbs are also present in modern Belarusian and some dialects of Ukrainian (Eastern Polesian), indicating a linguistic continuum. The city of Veliky Novgorod has historically displayed a feature called chokanye or tsokanye ( or ), in which /t/ and /ts/ were switched or merged. So, ('heron') has been recorded as . Also, the second palatalization of velars did not occur there, so the so-called ² (from the Proto-Slavic diphthong *ai) did not cause /k, , x/ to shift to /ts, dz, s/; therefore, where Standard Russian has ('chain'), the form [kep] is attested in earlier texts. Among the first to study Russian dialects was Lomonosov in the 18th century. In the 19th, Vladimir Dal compiled the first dictionary that included dialectal vocabulary. Detailed

Prisoners also were denied the right to use the bathroom; after “lights out” at 10pm, they had to use the bathroom in a bucket and were sometimes denied the right to empty it out Vang Nr 8612
something about things like bullying and theft at school. I mean who knows better than the students who does what and which punishment would really work? And most of all it would make teachers listen and respect our opinions and feelings. I wish our school would allow us something like that. Speaker 4 We were all surprised at Korczak's instruction to gather in the X-ray lab. The doctor arrived, bringing along a four-year-old from his orphanage. The X-ray machine was switched on and we saw the boy's heart beating wildly. He was so frightened by the strange people, the dark room and the machine. Speaking softly, Korczak told us: `Don't ever forget this sight. How wildly a child's heart beats when he is frightened. It does even more so when the child reacts to an adult's anger, not to mention the fear of punishment.' Then, heading for the door with the boy's hand in his, he added, `That is all for today!' That lesson was imprinted on our minds forever.
have bred pure "Golden Siamese" for 5 generations. Having proven his point, he stopped breeding, though his cats were popular with pet buyers. In the 1960s and 1970s, the Tonkinese was revived in Canada and the USA by crossing Siamese with Burmese in spite of opposition from breeders of both Siamese and Burmese who viewed them as embodying everything they were trying to breed out of those two breeds. In the mid 1960s, Jane Barletta of New Jersey switched from the increasingly extreme Siamese to breeding the more moderate Tonkinese. At about the same time, Margaret Conroy in Canada bred a female Burmese to a Seal point Siamese as she was unable to find a suitable Burmese stud in her locality. Her tan-bodies cats bred true for 5 generations and were dubbed Tonkanese (with an "a"). The original cats were Sable (US: Natural Mink), but crosses between Blue Burmese and Blue Point Siamese introduced Blue Tonkinese. Later on, the

The regulatory authority does not monitor the entities of big business group owners deeply enough to determine this. 28 Source: www.ukrainianweek.com The intense increase of the European share in the Ukrainian banking system over 2005-2008 has essentially squeezed captive banks to the sidelines. Some oligarchs even gradually switched to using universal European banks with high standards to service their companies. It was definitely cheaper for them compared to maintaining and developing a bank of their own. Since 2010, Ukraine has seen a reversal of the European banking trend. The growing pressure on businesses and resurgent fear of property loss have once again fuelled the demand for captive banks, just as they did in the 1990s and early 2000s. In a prime example,
But that wasn't why I jerked my hand away so quickly. When he touched me, it stung my hand as if an electric current had passed through us. "I'm sorry," he muttered, pulling his hand back immediately. However, he continued to reach for the microscope. I watched him, still staggered, as he examined the slide for an even shorter time than I had. "Prophase," he agreed, writing it neatly in the first space on our worksheet. He swiftly switched out the first slide for the second, and then glanced at it cursorily. "Anaphase," he murmured, writing it down as he spoke. I kept my voice indifferent. "May I?" He smirked and pushed the microscope to me. I looked through the eyepiece eagerly, only to be disappointed. Dang it, he was right. "Slide three?" I held out my hand without looking at him. He handed it to me; it seemed like he was being careful not to touch my skin again. I took the most fleeting look I could manage. "Interphase
efghiklmnopqrstuxyzwabcd ........................ zwabcdefghiklmnopqrstuxy wabodefghiklmnopqrstuxyz Trithemius used this tableau for his polyalphabetic encipherment, and in the simplest manner possible. He enciphered the first letter with the first alphabet, the second with the second, and so on. (He gave no separate plaintext alphabet, but the normal alphabet at the top can serve.) Thus a plaintext beginning Hunc caveto virum . . . became HXPF GFBMCZ FUEiB. ... In this particular message, he switched to another alphabet after 24 letters, but in another example he followed the more normal procedure of repeating the alphabets over and over again in groups of 24. The great advantage of this procedure over Alberti's is that a new alphabet is brought into play with each letter. Alberti shifted alphabets only after three or four words. Thus the ciphertext would mirror the obvious pattern of repeated letters of a word like Papa ("Pope"), or in
