Kontserdiarvustus: Curly Strings ja Mari Jürjens “Kohe näha, et vanad sõbrad” 8. veebruaril 2015 toimus Rahvusooper Estonia kontserdisaalis eesti folkkoosseisu Curly Strings ja akustilise muusiku Mari Jürjensi (Pokinen) ühiskontsert “Kohe näha, et vanad sõbrad”. Kontsert koosnes Mari Jürjensi ja Curly Stringsi eelnevast loomingust, kuid esitati ka paar uuemat lugu. Kontserdi esimene pool pühendus Mari Jürjensi loomingule: koos Curly Stringsiga tulid esitusele lood “Paradiis” ja “No Näed”, ülejäänud lood esitas Mari Jürjens üksi ning lood pärinesid enamasti tema albumilt “Maa saab taevani”

This can often lead to the neglect of rhythm which is the basis for all music. Remember in the last lesson we talked about warming up and using the correct fingering. nüansirikkamaks ja heliliselt põnevamaks. Lauldakse nii lindudest kui putukatest ja samas käsitletakse ka elulisi teemasid sellest, kuidas keegi suusabaasis alla lasi?! Kui jätta kõrvale fakt, et poisid mängisid end laval kuumaks, olid nad kolmandaks bändiks (Tenfold Rabbiti ja Zetode järel), kellele noored neiud andunult kaasa jaksasid keksida. Ilusa punkti kogu üritusele pani jällegi kohalik bänd – Curly Strings. Nende headusest kõneleb eeskätt asjaolu, et bändi neli liiget on juba aastaid koos erinevates projektides musitseerinud, seega nende klapp on kindlasti kadestamisväärne. Nende lust ja sära olid nakatavad, mistõttu kutsus publik neid korduvalt tagasi ja tantsis rõõmuga nende pillide järgi!

Retsensioon – emadepäeva kontsert Käisin pühapäeval 10.05.2015 kell 16.00 Vormsi saare rahvamajas emadepäeva kontserdil. Emadepäeva teemaks oli „ Puruvigased Vormsi flikkad“. Esinesid lasteaia lapsed ja põhikooli esimese osa õpilased ühislauluna „Kauges külas“ – Curly Strings. Lisaks esinesid rootsi-eesti keelse lauluga Vormsi Lasteaed- Põhikooli kaks eesti keele õpetajat Kadi Kivilo ja Annika Adams. Lauluga „Kauges külas“ oli ligikaudu 15 last, kes laulusid. Neid toetas kitarri saatel muusikaõpetaja Malle Hokkonen ja 8. klassi õpilane Annika Põder. Rootsi-eesti keelne laul on traditsioonidega vana Vormsi rannarootslaste laul, millel pealkiri puudub. Sandra ja Jalmar Vabarna. Kontsert toimus sealses suures saalis ning publikus oli umbes 100 inimest. Sandra ja Jalmar Vabarna on tänases Eestis ühed tuntuimad pärimusmuusika edendajad. Sandra Vabarna, neiupõlvenimega Sandra Sillamaa, on sündinud 1985. aastal ja on eesti torupillimuusik ning folkansamblite Ro:toro, Trad.Attack! ja Paabel liige. Jalmar Vabarna on sündinud 1987. aastal ja on eesti muusik ning ansamblite Zetod, Trad.Attack!, Gjangsta, Klapp, Viljandi Guitar Trio, Curly Strings, ja Vallatud Vestid liige. Lisaks on ta Eesti Pärimusmuusika Keskuse produtsent. Paar abiellus 2016. aastal.
