Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town

good shape right now the question of financing the old parts of Tallinn has been raised. Many people claim that spending money on preserving the old parts of Tallinn is not the best idea when people are having hard times. They are having trouble with making money in the first place. Also there are other fields, which are more important than the Old Town, such as education that need to be financed. Nevertheless, the Old Town is very important to tourism. For this reason money spent on old parts of Tallinn is not money wasted. Tourism is extremely important in todays economy and the Old Town of Tallinn is the main Estonian tourist attraction. It even became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and it is often referred to as the medieval pearl of Europe. I believe that conserving old parts of Tallinn is absolutely justified. The Old Town is truly beautiful and we should not take it for granted. In orded to preserve it's beauty we need to spend money on it.

Sandra Bullock

favourite actress and people had said that I look same as her and I hope you will lear a few things about her. As for her background she was born in July 26, 1964, in Arlington, a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. Did you know that her mother, Helga Bullock was a German opera singer and her father, John W. Bullock was an American voice teacher, who was born in Alabama. You might not know that Sandra grew up on the road with her parents and younger sister and spent much of her childhood in Nuremberg, Germany. She often performed in the children´s choirs since she was 5. That singing talent later came in handy for her role as an aspiring country singer in North Carolina, where she studied acting. Shortly afterward she moved to New York to pursue a career on the stage. Her breakthrough role was in Demolition Man, after which she starred in several successful films including Speed, While You Were Sleeping and The Net

Mistake

do any revision before going to the entrance examinations to get into Hugo Treffner’s high school. It all started in February after I had submitted my request to Hugo Treffner’s high school’s entrance examinations. I promised to myself that I will spend at least half an hour a day to revise all the things I had learned in primary school. I had always dreamed of studying there. During the first week I could almost keep my promise and spent the time I wanted to spend on revising, but after that I got very lazy and did not keep up with my revising at all. So time went by and I did not worry at all about the entrance exams until the day they were already there. The examination took place in room 204. It lasted for 3 hours and I spent every last second of it, because it proved to be very difficult. A month later I received a letter from the school. The letter stated that I hadn’t

Film industry at the prosperity time

with stock market crash and the great depression in 1929. The jobs were lost because of overall industrialization and the usage of conveyering method. People who committed suicide was the highest rate ever. The rich wives of businessmen were trying to sell back their golden accesories, but the gold was no longer taken back, because it had lost its value. Still, all this had no impact on the filming industry. The Last dollars was spent on movies, no matter how poor they were. Even Big movietheatres were built. Ppl escaped the harsh reality by waching movies. The klishee like films helped ppl to stay optimistic. ,,Mickey mouse"- the cartoonfigure who pherhaps represented the rolemodel of the kind of attitude jankees wished to have. Shakespeare " A midsummer night's dream"

This is exciting and they only think they will love forever because this love is so true. But puck puts a spell on Lysander to fall in love with Hermias best friend Helena. This love that was true and forever was somehow changed? How can that be they were so deeply in love. Love is constantly changing usually with family increasing for it is unconditional but for lovers it can decrease quicker than the speed of light. "Content with Hermia! NO; I do repent the tedious minutes I with her spent."(Act ll, scene 2 lines 111,112)Lysander wishes that he could turn back time and hadn't spent it with Hermia. But they were in love and they were eloping and they had a future together. Love is altered anywhere anytime and that's where people are so dumb they think that they will be together and that they will love each other and then they make dumb choices that ruin their lives. Puck put a spell so that Lysander would despise Hermia but what if that never happened

Black Beauty

Anna Sewell (1820-1878) wrote only one novel during her lifetime, a book describing the life of a beautiful, black horse, Black Beauty. Sewell was very concerned about animals and used the book to write about the terrible treatment of horses in England at the time. The book is written from the point of view of the horse, which helps us to understand the influence that good and bad treatment had on the horses in the story. Black Beauty spent his early years in a picturesque, green field with his mother and some other young colts. When it was time for him to be trained to serve men, he was gently and patiently broken in by his master. He learned to wear a saddle and bridle, and carry a human quietly on his back. Black Beauty learnt about the way horses can suffer because of men very early in life. He witnessed a hunting expedition in which a horse was pushed too hard and fast by an inexperienced and overconfident rider

British kings and queens

He became friendly with the current English King, Edward the Confessor. He invaded and attacked England on Edward's death, as he was promised the English crown, but then denied it by the Saxon Harold. King George VI King George VI did not expect to become king, he was the shy brother of Edward VIII who only took the thrown when Edward abdicated. King George VI ruled during World War two and bravely refused to leave London during the blitz. The two princesses; Elizabeth and Margaret, spent the war years in Windsor Castle away from harm. King Henry VI King Henry VI still holds the record for being the youngest king of England, it is unlikely that the record will be broken any time soon. He came to the thrown at just 9 months old. For the first 20 years of his life England and France were ruled by his uncles and advisors. King Stephen King Stephen was king of England (and not Normandy), although he was born in France. He

Inglise keele C1 tase essee - holiday time

Holiday time My holiday began from a class trip to Tartu. There we visited the Estonian National Defence College. Afterwards, I took a bus ride to Tallinn, where I spent the rest of my holiday. Due to my brother moving house, I had to help him out with that. The majority of the work involved stacking firewood from one shed to another, whilst sorting it out to dried and raw. During free time, we went shopping into different shopping centres. I left Tallinn on Saturday, so I would have a day to prepare for school.

My favourite trip: trip through bog

Me, my dad and my cousins traditionally go hiking every summer. Last summer we decided to go through bogs of Lavassaare. As it was going to be a week-long tramp, we considered our equipment carefully. We made list of everything we needed and then crossed out all that wasn't absolutely nesseccery. We couldn't have better timing: it was clear and warm all week long and it was exact time for wild strawberries and blueberries. We enjoyed the nature and especially the bog lakes. We spent six days in bog and travelled 55 kilometers with this time. This may seem as a short distance, but in bog, where your every step sinks and bog lakes lie exacly on your way, it is pretty long.

Atomic energy

of energy from small amounts of fuel, without the pollution that you would get from burning fossil fuels. Nuclear power costs about the same as coal, so it's not expensive to make. Although not much waste is produced, it is very, very dangerous. It must be sealed up and buried for many thousands of years. For all that time it must be kept safe from earthquakes, flooding, terrorists and everything else. This is difficult. Nuclear power is reliable, but a lot of money has to be spent on safety - if it does go wrong, a nuclear accident can be a major disaster. One of the most feared disadvantages of nuclear energy is the potential for weapons. Each year, every nuclear reactor is capable of making enough plutonium to build over thirty nuclear bombs. Nuclear plants must be secured well enough to prevent this material from falling into the wrong hands.

When I was a child.

But not all memories aren't good. Kristo Karu tells a little bit about his childhood. When I was a child I liked to make troubles. Once I was cutting hammer handle into two pieces. Granddad punished me. Also I have been driving with sledge on very big puddle. Sledge didn't make it. I got very wet. Once I had been hitting chicken with bow arrow, granny saw me. This was very big trouble. I liked to eat matches when I found some. These tasted good. I spent very much time at granny's place when I was a child. Granny liked when I was there even I was very bad child. But I didn't like my granny, because she was very evil to me. I was afraid of her. Sometimes I hid myself into the shed. Granny was looking for me all day. But she didn't find me. This was Kristo's childhood. It didn't look good. All little children who are reading this article, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

The Best Grandfather

boring for him. I remember him sitting on the couch, listening to the radio and thoughtfully, quiatly solving the crossword. He was very good at these, because he was incredibly smart. At that time he was the smartest person that I knew. When I was little, once he won from the crossword 100 kroons and I remember that he bought me an ice-cream. That day it seemed to me that ice- cream had never been so sweet and delicious. I will forever miss our together spent time. Always when I was with him, I felt as the happiest child in the world. He was the best grandfather that a person could wish. I think that everyone could learn something from that great man.

Report

According to the latest Census, the aim of this report is to figure out how much time people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. As expected, women occupy most of their time on child care. However it is surprising that they spend nearly one fifth on building. The reason for this may be due to men having more jobs outside of the home, earning money for the family. On the basis of the points mentioned above, men and women share in doing all tasks in caring for the household

James Hiller

As a boy, James Hillier thought he would like to be a commercial artist. Instead, he turned out to have a talent for mathematics and physics, and won a science scholarship to the University of Toronto. There, he and fellow student Albert Prebus invented the world's first practical electron microscope. Their first device magnified objects to 7,000 times their original size. Electron microscopes work by focussing a beam of electrons, rather than a beam of light. Hillier spent many years refining the electron microscope and marketing it to research laboratories and universities, receiving a total of 41 patents for devices and processes. After retiring from work in 1977, Dr. Hillier went to the Third World and promoted science and education. They had two sons: James Robert Hillier and William Wynship Hillier. James Hillier was also the the founder of James Hillier Foundation, which awards scholarships to promising science students in his hometown of Brantford

Speed cameras are not a good way to make our roads safer. Do you agree with this statement?

Speed cameras are not a good way to make our roads safer. Do you agree with this statement? The offical reason for installing cameras that monitor along the roads is that they will bring speed down and due to this many lives can be saved. Speed cameras probably decrease the average speed a bit at the spot where the camera is, but in my opinion they really make driving much more stressful and unsafe. First of all, in our country there are a lot of speed cameras on the roads. Mostly of them are on a straight roads, which even do not need a speed camera. As our country is pretty small, almost everybody driving daily knows exactly where are these speeding cameras. That makes no sense because they slow down before the camera and after it they speed up. Secondly, people are afraid of tickets. They must check their speedometer before the speed camera to hold the speed around allowed level. That takes drivers attention from the road. It...

Motivation

emotions. I have attended primary school in a school what is near to Rakvere, in an english KALLAK class. I furthered my studies at Rakvere Vocational school for the next 2 years. That is also the start of my cookery studies what i continued in Tartu Vocational Education Centre. For now, i have finished my high school studies, but my cookery qualification studies are still going on. These amazing years, what i have spent in a world of excellence in cookery are memorable. Probably the highlight for my studies was the opportunity what i found myself trough the Internet, during my 2 year studies. I had a rare chance to do my trainee period in well-known Jamie Oliver restaurant in London. That is Jamie´s first restaurant and also a place, where very many young students are trained to give them a better future. The period spent there is something what i would never change
