Homework 2 Solution

Question 1 (in wiki and in terminologies) 1. SNR is a calculated value that represents the ratio of root- mean-square (rms ) signal to rms noise. 2. SINAD stands for Signal-to-noise and distortion ratio. It is a measure of the quality of a signal from a communications device, often defined as: where is the average power of the signal, noise and distortion components. SINAD is usually expressed in dB. For examples to calculate the ratio of 1 kW (one kilowatt, or 1000 watts) to 1 W in decibels, use the formula 3. ENOB is the effective number-of-bits related to SINAD and the quality of a digitized signal. The 6.02 term in the divisor converts decibels (a log10) to bits (a log2) The 1.76 term comes from quantization error in an ideal ADC 4. THD - Total harmonic distortion is the ratio of the root-mean-square (rms) ...

Equipment Beaker, glass rod, funnel, conical flask, measuring cylinder (250 cm 3), hydrometer, filter paper. 1) In a conical flask, dissolve the NaCl from a previously weighed sand-salt mixture. To do that, add about 50 cm3 of distilled water to the mixture. Stir the solution with a glass rod and then filter it. For filtration, fold the filter paper in half twice. Cut one corner for the filter paper to distribute evenly to the wall of the funnel (see Figure Figure 1.1 2.1 figure 1.1). Place the filter paper into the funnel, wet it with distilled water and press it firmly against the wall of the funnel. While filtering, try to leave as much insoluble material in the conical flask as possible.

What is wrong with current school education?

What is wrong with current school education? School education right now, like democracy, is not perfect. It has to be perfected all the time, according to the ways of life, which are always changing. There definately is not a certain perfect solution. Firts problem in current education system coul be that students are put into a „box“. Everyone gets graded by a certain standard, if you can not reach that line, then yo have failed. This is the fairest way, at least in concept. But not all the people have same abilities and strengths. Education should be more personal, focusin on a certain students talents and strengths and trying to develope those, so that the children could reach their full-

Smoking is on the increase among young people

One of the largest issues today is underage smoking. The number of teens who smoke has dramatically risen over the past years. Smoking is one of the biggest causes of death and health diseases. Most of the youths start smoking to improve their self image with no attention of becoming addicted. The awareness of the harmful effects of smoking among young people has been rising but many of the young people ignore the dangers of smoking. One possible solution to reduce smoking is to educate the teens. Schools could have classes and seminars that increase the knowledge about the consequences of smoking. That way teens would be aware of the health problems such as many different cancers, heart diseases, asthma and strokes caused by cigarettes. Youths should also see the visuals how smoking ages skin and yellows teeth. Also a similar meetings for parents and students should be organised. After this parents might be

Harsher punishments will reduce the amount of crime.

Harsher punishments will reduce the amount of crime. Is it safe to live your life nowadays? Unfortunately it does not seem like that. Almost everyone can say that they have had some contact with crimes, it can vary from a minor offence to even a murder. But how can we reduce the amount of crime? Are harsher punishments the solution? Firstly I think that if the punishments are as weak as they are now, it won't make the criminals think. They get punished and still commit crimes. Probably the biggest punishment for a petty theft is community service which isn't much of a punishment. It gives the feeling that a person can do what he wants, live like he wants and nothing happens. Furthermore I think that the life in prison is actually quite good. A place to sleep, food and people

Marie Pau 11.A Kloordioksiid ehk pleegitav ravim MMS ehk Miracle Mineral Supplement või Miracle Mineral Solution on lahus, mis koosneb 28% naatriumkloritist ja destilleeritud ehk lahustunud lisandeist puhastatud veest. 2006 aastal tutvustas lahust maailmale Jim Humble, kes tutvustas MMS-i kui “The Miracle Mineral Solution of the 21st Century“.

Appendices to the report contain supporting information with the details needed by a reader who wishes to fully understand the design. While this document describes the general content and organization of a design report, some of the specifics (section headings, length, and format) may be determined by your project client. Before You Begin Some basics that you need to understand before starting to write the report. Definition: A design report documents the solution to a unique problem. Purpose: To communicate the solution to a problem. Audience: Anyone who has to implement your design, understand your design, or reference your design to solve their own problem. Typically, this is the project client. While the client may be familiar with the project, the report is still written as though the client is new to the project because that is the best way to tell the whole story.

Desing Design and construction were closely intertwined. Utzon's radical approach to the construction of the building fostered an exceptional collaborative and innovative environment. The design solution and construction of the shell structure took eight years to complete and the development of the special ceramic tiles for the shells took over three years. The project was not helped by the changes to the brief. Construction of the shells was one of the most difficult engineering tasks ever to be attempted. The revolutionary concept demanded equally revolutionary engineering and building techniques. From 1957 to 1963, the design team went through at least twelve iterations of the form of the

Despite the fact they may be prepared to contribute $100, they will claim that they are not prepared to pay, and instead hope that others in the street will pay for the system anyway, and they receive the benefit for no personal expense. The result is that it is possible no system will be installed, an example of market failure. This is despite the fact that allocative efficiency would be improved. Solution One common solution to the problem is to gather the 25 participants and make them behave like one customer, so the decision is reduced from 25 independent decisions to one. A vote can be taken, but if the answer is yes, everyone will be forced to pay for their individual support. This is why public services such as military defense and police service are provided by governments. 4 The Main Economical Problem

Aniliini riskianalüüs (eng)

Tends to accumulate in the body, especially in bladder. Often leads to bladder cancer. Aniline was tested on animals, but in mice was observed no increase in tumour incidence, in rats, it produced fibrosarcomas, sarcomas and haemangiosarcomas of the spleen and peritoneal cavity. 4. Behavior in the wild Not found in nature. If appears, starts oxidation. In reactions localized at nitrogen or more commonly results in the formation of new C-N bonds. In alkaline solution, azobenzene results, whereas arsenic acid produces the violet-coloring matter violaniline. Chromic acid converts it into quinone, whereas chlorates, in the presence of certain metallic salts (especially of vanadium), give aniline black. Hydrochloric acid and potassium chlorate give chloranil. Potassium permanganate in neutral solution oxidizes it to nitrobenzene, in alkaline solution to azobenzene, ammonia and oxalic acid, in acid solution to aniline black.

We need to do something fast before our city doesn`t become deserted. Firstly, we have to create industrial park. It will help to reduce factories in the cities, where a lot of people live. Another solution is to start stricting the laws. If the laws be very strict, then less and less persons will be able to get a license for the new factory. Finally, we should renovate our factories. Modern plant emit less unhealthy gases. This would allow us to start a policy, which will help to clean our environment. In conclusion, there are many ways to make our cities a better place to live. Report

According to students we spoke to, the car park is used by a lot of visitors and year by year more students have more cars. Not surprisingly, the car park becomes full and there are not enough possibilities to leave car. The second problem is that the buses often run late and are always full. The majority of students cannot afford the taxi fare from home to college. Some of them are unwilling to go on foot, because they are living far from college. The most realistic solution is to improve the bus service, writing to bus company. As a result good public transport will reduce the number of private cars. The second decision is to raise the price of car parking and extend it into the sports field. Perhaps it will take some time and extra money, but it will solve the majority of our transport problems. Yours sincerely, xxx

How can we increase the quality of breathable air? Essee

How can we increase the quality of breathable air? “I’ll go out for a breath of fresh air” is an often-heard phrase. But how many of us realize that this has become irrelevant in today’s world? Air pollution is the addition of any harmful substances to the atmosphere, which causes the damaging of the environment, human health and the quality of life. Firstly, we should use green methods of powering like wind energy and landfill gas energy. This would reduce the amount of harmful gases. Another useful suggestion would be to plant trees. In this way we can increase the source of breathable oxygen. Unfortunately, many companies are contributing to deforestation. Finally, it would help if we put taxes on carbon emissions or higher taxes on gasoline. In this way people and companies will have greater incentives to conserve energy and pollute less. In conclusion, there are many ways to ...

Ways of using the money to benefit the environment and the..

money to benefit the environment and the local community. Local concerns It would be a good idea to put money on animal pounds. This would mean that people can walk on streets without frightening homeless animals. One another suggestion would be to use this money to arrange parks and children's playgrounds. In this way, there will be a good place where to walk and play. Moreover, children could play in a protected place. Another good solution would be to buy christmas decorations. By doing this, the city will be beautiful and people will always be in a good mood and they also will be happier. Conclusion On the whole, I believe that if we consider some of the suggestions above, we will able to create a safer environment and a friendly community. In this way, the public will have a clear understandig of the aim of our community and also will be interested in helping.

World in 2060

Will there be flying cars? These questions run through our mind every time we put our minds to future. To start with, flying car is an expectation for future that has been pictured for a long time. In the industrial revolution scientist developed the most common things that we currently use in a very short term of time, thus why they can't do it again. For now, world is an oil dependent society, and that has to change, what is more, no secondary solution for petrol hasn't been proved successful. We might run out of petrol soon and therefore we need another source of energy that makes our lives easier. To sum up, future will always be a mystery. It may well as happen that there will be an Armageddon and we all, human race will be swept of the world. What is more bound to happen is that there will be improvements in all fields.

Advantages and disadvantages of fast food

Why do people eat so much fast food? Nowadays a problem of fast food is widespread all over the world because the restaurants are almost in every country. What is so special about it? In this essay I am going to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of fast food. Firstly, the main advantage- it saves time and people don't have to spend their time cooking something for themselves. There are many people who live in a rush, so it is a good solution for them. Time is money! Secondly, fast food restaurants are cheaper than the others and fast food tastes really good too! The main disadvantage of fast food is the harmful effect it has on our health. It is a fact that it contains higher amounts of salt, fats, and additives than home-made food. People eat it too much and it can make them fat, so it is not a good idea to eat it every day. In my opinion fast food is more harmful than healthy. If we don't eat it too often, it doesn't

A letter of application

I am seventeen-year-old high school student and am very interested in this position. When I graduate school I would like to do a similar job to this so I think it would be a great opportunity to gain some work experience. Unfortunately I do not have any formal work experience, but I have been often told that I am good with money and every time my family have inancial problems or when we are willing to take a loan then my parents always ask my opinion so we could work out the best solution for us. As far as my personality is concerned I would describe myself honest, reliable and hard- working. I am a sociable person and I enjoy working with other as part of a team. I am also a quick learner and very good at maths, which I think is quite important for this job. If you wish me to attend an interview, I am available at any time. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, John Smith

Capital Punishment Should be Abolished

It has been abolished by many states and countries, and we must look forward to the day when all the governments will follow this. It's a murder. The first question that comes to mind is, is it ethically acceptable to kill someone? When you execute a person, what is the difference between you and the criminal who has committed the crime of killing another individual. Furthermore, capital punishment can be inappropriate and unjust. It's not necessary. There is always a solution to the problem, instead of putting people to death sentence we could simply put them behind bars as he or she may improve himself. For instance, persons who have served life sentences have most of the time change their attitudes and their behaviors and have also made worthwhile contribution to the society.
