Greenland

Total area 2,175,600 square kilometres Greenland, a selfgoverning dependency of Denmark, is the largest island in the world. Greenland consists of an interior icecovered plateau surrounded by a mountainous, generally icefree rim. The interior ice cap is thickest near the centre of the island, where the maximum depth is estimated to be about 3,353 metres (11,000 feet). Underneath the ice cover are the ancient rocks of the Greenland Shield, which is geologically related to the Canadian Shield. Drainage is afforded mainly by the so called ice fjords, in which glaciers from the ice caps pass through valleys to the sea, where they form thousands of icebergs each year. The climate is extremely cold, although the south experiences a short summer. The mammals of Greenland are more American than European and include muskox, wolves, lemmings, and reindeer. The varieties of seal and whale, and most of the species of fish and seabird, are also American rather than European

coast by the Atlantic Ocean and western coast by the Pacific Ocean. Canada is so big that it contains six time zones. This huge land mass has been divided by nature into 6 distinct geographical regions. Stretching across the north is the Artic region. On the east there is another geographical unit called the Applachian Region after the range of mountains which run through the New England states north into Canada. Moving west, we come to the largest region of all, the Canadian Shield. This extends like a huge semi-circular ring around Hudson Bay. It is rugged, stony and with thin soil. Southeast of the Shield is the Valley of the St. Lawrence River which embraces the parts of Quebec and Ontario that lie along that river and Lakes Ontario and Eire. West of the Shield, we find two vertical bands of land that run from the Arctic southward into the US. This is called the Interior Plains Region. Next, the most westerly area is nearly all mountain, running

Much of the area is covered with farms producing large quantities of wheat and other grains. The region is also rich in oil and natural gas. Northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba are covered by the Great Canadian Shield a rocky landscape with lakes, rivers and forests. The Canadian Shield is a vast horseshoe-shaped region. It curves round Hudson Bay from the Arctic coast of the Northwest Territories to the coast of Labrador, the mainland part of Newfoundland. The Canadian Shield covers about half of Canada and is made up of extremely ancient rock. The Canadian Shield mostly consists of eroded hilly terrain and contains thousands of lakes. territories of Commonwealth. There is also the Indigenous Australian flag, which represents the Aboriginal Australians. The flag with its colours of red (representing the land), black (representing the people) and the yellow in the middle (representing the sun) is a source of pride for Indigenous Australians. The present coat of arms was granted by King George V in 1912. It consists of a shield containing the badges of six Australian states, enclosed by an ermine border. The shield is a symbol for the federation of the states, which took place in 1901. The crest, which is above the shield, is a seven-pointed gold star on a blue and gold wreath. The seven points of the star represent exactly the same thing that they do on the flag. The supporters of the shield are native Australian animals: the red kangaroo and the emu. Usually the coat of arms is depicted on the background of sprays of golden wattle with a scroll beneath it containing the word `Australia'.

Australia

The national flag of Australia has the union Jack in the top left corner, which represents the history of Australia as a former British colony. The stars on the flag represent each of the states, the territories and the country's location on the Southern Hemisphere. Each state and territory also has its own flag. The Commonwealth Coat of Arms is an emblem signifying the national unity of Australia. It includes six parts, each representing one State. The shield on it is supported by a kangaroo and an emu. The Golden Wattle frames the Coat of Arms. The Golden Wattle is the official national floral emblem. It's an evergreen shrub that grows in the south and south-west part of Australia. The national colours green and gold, come from the floral emblem the Golden Wattle. These colours have been worn by people representing Australia, especially sportsmen and women, for a long time. The Opal is Australia's national gemstone

They are also called as the Western Australian Shield. The Nullarbor Plain is an uninhabited limestone plateau. It is characterized by amazing cave and tunnel systems, which contain valuable information about ancient Australia. The east is the mountainous part of the country. There is The Great Dividing Range. It runs along the Pacific coast and finds it end in Tasmania. The mountains are old and worn down. The highest mountains on the Australian mainland are in an area known as the Australian Alps. because our government still operates under the British monarchy, and the flag is a symbol of the Crown. In the old days the Union Jack was a very common symbol of Canada, but these days you'll only occasionally see it flown at certain government buildings, such as court houses or city halls. The national flag is far more common, and except in certain circumstances, takes precedence over the official one. On the flag is a 11 pointed red maple leaf. The Arms of Canada consists of the shield, 3 royal lions and three maple leaves. The Beaver is Canada's official national animal. This is because in the old days when Canada was owned by a large fur trading company beaver pelts were Canada's primary export to the world. The Moose is another popular Canadian animal. National tree is maple three and floral emblem is maple leaf. National colours are red and white. National athem is ,,O Canada"-

Newfoundland & Labrador and Alberta

km2. Newfoundland extends between latitudes 46°36'N and 51°38'N. Labrador is an irregular shape: the western part of its border with Quebec is the drainage divide of the Labrador Peninsula. Lands drained by rivers that flow into the Atlantic Ocean are part of Labrador, the rest belong to Quebec. Labrador's extreme northern tip, at 60°22'N, shares a short border with Nunavut. Labrador's area (including associated small islands) is 294,330 km2. Labrador is the easternmost part of the Canadian Shield, a vast area of ancient metamorphic rock comprising much of northeastern North America. The Long Range Mountains on Newfoundland's west coast are the northeasternmost extension of the Appalachian Mountains. The north-south extent of the province (46°36'N to 60°22'N), prevalent westerly winds, cold ocean currents and local factors such as mountains and coastline combine to create the various climates of the province. Northern Labrador is classified as a polar tundra climate, southern

The eagle holds a scroll in its beak inscribed with E pluribus Unum, which is Latin for one from many (one nation created from 13 colonies). The eagle grasps an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of thirteen arrows in its left. The olive branch and arrows are symbols for the power of peace and war. A shield with thirteen red and white stripes covers the eagle's breast. The red and white stripes of the shield represent the states united under and supporting the blue, which represents the President and Congress. Above the eagle's head is a cloud surrounding a blue field containing thirteen stars which form a constellation. The constellation denotes that a new State is taking its place among other nations. The national anthem is called “The Star-Spangled Banner”
