Sellest sai maailma levinum usk maailmas. Juutide maa alistati Rooma võimule 1. sajandil eKr. Roomlased mõistsid juutide ainujumalausu erandlikkust teiste uskude seas ja ei nõudnud esialgu juutidelt rooma jumalate austamis. 3. Ehituskunstis võtsid roomlased kasutusele nn rooma ning õppisid ehitama kuppel- ja ristvõlve. Roomlased olid head teedeehitajad. Rooma linna veega varustamiseks ehitati esimesed akveduktid. Tähelepanuväärsed saavutused on amfiteatrid, eriti Colos-seum. Rooma templitest on kõige paremini säilinud vanaaja suurim kuppelehitis Panteon.
