The role of the Secretary in business

ESSAY The role of the Secretary in business Secretarys are usually women so most of the people generally think that Secretary's job is to make coffee, wear miniskirt and just be beautiful. Of course that is the most common wrong belief. Secretary is actually really important in the company. But what are Secretary's main tasks and why is she so important in business? I think that Secretary is very important person in the company. All clients and guests meet the secretary first so she is the first contact of the company and its reputations depends on how great is the customer service. Future career

Future career Around the world there are so many different peole who do different jobs. My mother works in a hospital. She's a nurse of extraordinary medicine. She loves her job, because she thinks it's interesting to help all these people. She has also worked in a bank and when she was younger she was a secretary. When she graduated high school she wanted to become a stewardess, but life went the other way. My father works in Finland. He is a builder. Sometimes he is abroad for several months. He worked couple of years ago at the same hospital where my mother works. He was an ambulance driver. i can't say that some jobs are unnecessary or pointless, but i can say what jobs i don't like. I think i don't want to become a doctor or even a nurse, because i don't stand blood.

A lot of women spend a lot of time on their body to be in fit because they want to be liked (meeldima). I think that men spend more time on their looks then in old times. They work out more (trenni teevad). It is very important to visit the doctor usually, every month, because health is important. Jobs and employment My greatest achievements is that I graduated the 9 grade. I can be successful in a lot things, like singing and dancing, but mostly when it comes to work then I can be a great secretary. Because I have worked as a secretary for some time. I think that people sometimes fail at what they're doing because they don't know anything about the job or activity that they are doing. When I am choosing a job I must first like the job and it has to have a good pay (salary). Now the most important thing, when you are choosing a job is the money!!!! A short story

working day except that day. ,,Oh, great," I said ironically. I wanted to call a taxi, but found out that I had left my phone at home while I was rushing around. Fortunately, my friend lived nearby, so I rushed to her house. When I arrived, she said her mom had driven to work 5 minutes ago, otherwise she would have picked me up. So we called a taxi but I had to wait for another 15 minutes. When I finally arrived I had already given up hope. I was suprised by a secretary who greeted me with a smile and said she was happy that I had received her message about the one-hour-delay of the interview. But I didn't have my cellphone with me, so I wasn't able to read that message! It turned out that the people in that company were all very kind and they gave me the possibility for a one-day work trial. When I had finished the day I left as a new employee. When I thought about the day's adventures, I smiled. Everything had come out right in the end.

The History of Flag Day

organization, known as the American Flag Day Association, was organized for the purpose of promoting the holding of Flag Day exercises. On June 14th, 1894, under the auspices of this association, the first general public school children's celebration of Flag Day in Chicago was held in Douglas, Garfield, Humboldt, Lincoln, and Washington Parks, with more than 300,000 children participating. Adults, too, participated in patriotic programs. Franklin K. Lane, Secretary of the Interior, delivered a 1914 Flag Day address in which he repeated words he said the flag had spoken to him that morning: "I am what you make me; nothing more. I swing before your eyes as a bright gleam of color, a symbol of yourself." Inspired by these three decades of state and local celebrations, Flag Day - the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 - was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. Estonian Independence Day

February 24: Independence Day The Republic of Estonia was founded on February 24, 1918 when the Salvation Committee, Päästekomitee, declared the independence of the Republic of Estonia. This date was celebrated as the Day of Independence until the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940. During the Soviet occupation, the Independence Day was festively celebrated in Estonian communities around the world. Every year, the US Secretary of State sent greetings on the occasion to the Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the United States, Ernst Jaakson. On February 24, 1989, the red flag of Soviet Estonia was replaced by the blue-black-white Estonian national flag on Toompea and since that time the Independence Day has been celebrated as a public holiday again. This year Estonia will celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the declaration of the state independence. A Quest for Independence

in one week, and the tale has become one of the most popular and enduring Christmas stories of all time. William Makepeace Thackeray William Makepeace Thackeray was an English novelist of the 19th century. He was famous for his satirical works, particularly Vanity Fair, a panoramic portrait of English society. Thackeray, an only child, was born in Calcutta, India, where his father, Richmond Thackeray (1 September 1781 13 September 1815), held the high rank of secretary to the board of revenue in the British East India Company. William had been sent to England earlier, at the age of five, with a short stopover at St. Helena where the imprisoned Napoleon was pointed out to him. He was educated at schools in Southampton and Chiswick and then at Charterhouse School, where he was a close friend of John Leech. He disliked Charterhouse, parodying it in his later fiction as "Slaughterhouse."

John Kennedy

S. gave secret assurances of non-interference for an impending coup d'état. On November 1, 1963, South Vietnamese generals overthrew the Diem government, arresting and soon killing Diem (though the circumstances of his death were obfuscated). Kennedy sanctioned Diem's overthrow. One reason to support the coup was a fear that Diem might negotiate a neutralist coalition government which included Communists, as had occurred in Laos in 1962. Dean Rusk, Secretary of State, remarked "This kind of neutralism...is tantamount to surrender.During his time in office, Kennedy increased the number of U.S. military in Vietnam from 800 to 16,300. It remains a point of some controversy among historians whether or not Vietnam would have escalated to the point it did had Kennedy served out his full term and been re-elected in 1964. Fueling the debate are statements made

sapped his remaining resources. The French Revolution had ignited new conflicts between Great Britain, France, and the United States. The new American government, realizing the need to prepare for war, began to rearm. The War Department issued contracts for the manufacture of 10,000 muskets. Whitney, who had never made a gun in his life, obtained a contract in January, 1798 to deliver ten to fifteen thousand muskets in 1800. Ten months later, Treasury Secretary Wolcott sent him a "foreign pamphlet on arms manufacturing techniques," possibly one of Honoré Blanc's reports, after which Whitney first began to talk about interchangeability. After spending most of 1799-1801 in cotton gin litigation, Whitney began promoting the idea of interchangeable parts, and even arranged a public demonstration of the concept in order to gain time. He did not deliver on the contract until 1809, but then spent the rest of his life publicizing

The mysterious affair at styles

Emily hasn't changed since Hastings last saw her, and there is no question of who is running the show at Styles. Emily Inglethorp's presence and conversation dominate everyone's life at Styles. This domination must upset someone very deeply because soon Emily is found dead from strychnine poisoning. Emily was a forceful person but even so, who would want to kill her? One obvious answer is Emily's current husband, Alfred Inglethorp. He started out being the old lady's secretary and got promoted to husband. "Rotten little bounder" is how John Cavendish describes him. Inglethorp is years younger than his wife and gushes attention on her in a very obsequious manner. The second suspect to consider is John Cavendish himself. John, the older of two Cavendish sons, was a lawyer who has settled down to the life of a country squire. John's dislike for life at Styles is obvious from the first. The situation between Inglethorp and his

English Parliament and Elections

friend from Winchester" etc. This was created to take off the heat of a debate. An MP's life The informality of the Commons may result from the fact that in history the members were supposed to be ordinary people just representing people. This way the MPs were not even paid until the 20th century. This way only rich people were able to afford being a member of the Parliament. Even now they don't get paid very much one MP has to share an office and a secretary with two other MPs. Most MPs are full-time politicians. But the old tradition where the MPs have other jobs reflects from the working hours of today. The Parliament doesn't sit in the morning. Work time is "gentlemen's hours" and they start their work later. They have a lot of holidays too. But it isn't as easy as it seems. Actually an MPs spends more time than an average person at work, the debates may continue into the night and this way it is one of the longest sitting Parliament in Europe

Washington and Texas

of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texan state flag and on the Texan state seal. The origin of the state name, Texas, is from the word, "Tejas", which means 'friends' in the Caddo language. Government Texas has a plural executive branch system limiting the power of the governor, which is a weak executive compared to some other states. Except for the Secretary of State, voters elect executive officers independently these candidates are directly answerable to the public not the governor. This election system has led to some executive branches split between parties and reduced the ability of the governor to carry out a program. When Republican President George W. Bush served as Texas's governor, the state had a Democratic lieutenant governor, Bob Bullock. Criminal law Texas has a reputation of very harsh criminal punishment for criminal offenses
