The Secret Life of Bees I watched the movie The Secret Life of Bees. I chose this movie because I am currently reading the book and I like the book very much. So I wanted to know if the movie is also good. The book was written by Sue Monk Kidd and the movie was a adapted version of it. As well as the book the synopsis is set in 1964 in South Carolina. The movie is mostly about a 14 year-old girl named Lily who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. And to escape the lonely and sad life that she has with her father she flees with Rosaleen and they fled to a town in South Carolina. There they start to work in the honey industry. Lily also meets Zach there. The movie was very interesting to me and a bit different form the book. I think that the casting was done great and many of the characters were exactly how I imagined them to be. The movie was really good and I would recommend it highly.

I found it quite humorous book, written in the third person and set in Havana, Cuba. The story is quite easy to follow. The novel was written right before the American embargo and the Cuba missile crisis of the 1960's, so the author was quite surely influenced by the political events at that time and created his own vision of the future. The main character of this book is Jim Wormlod, who is a vacuum cleaner salesman, but is offered a job in the British secret service by Hawthorne. He has to spy on Cuba for England. Jim lives with his daughter Milly, because his wife had left them for another man. Milly is quite demanding, having many wishes and because ebeing in lack of money,Jim decides to take the job offer. As Jim does not have any real information of the secret services, he does not want to give up his good salary and disappoint them, he decides to deceive and tells them that he acutally have a network
It was directed by Danny Boyle and it stars two young actors, Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert Carlyle. The film is set in Thailand. The main character is a young American man who travels to Thailand in search of the perfect vacation. During a stay in Bangkok, he meets a mysterious man who tells him about a secret beach. Richard then heads for southern Thailand in search of the island. Along the way, he meets a young French couple, Françoise and Étienne and he shares the secret of the island with them. The three then start to find the island and finally they get there. Heading further inland, they find a hidden beach where a small clan of travellers has settled. After their arrival many scary things start to happen. The film was very interesting and it is definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. I have seen it for about 4 times and I still watch it with great interest. I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventures.
