Conventional medicine has little to learn from alternative medicine

On the other hand, alternative medicine is better when having relatively mild condition, such as headaches, then a doctor would probably write out pain killers. Not much help in the long term. Alternative medicine is also the last chance, when having an untreatable condition, like cancer. Conventional medicine seeks to solve problems by masking or eliminating symptoms, which is not always the best solution, because it does not reveal the real cause of the pain. In conclusion, conventional medicine has a lot to learn from alternative medicine. It is also very important to use the right treatment, in more serious cases conventional one. Alternative medicine is not very faithworthy.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest

She had really difficult childhood, because his father was former Soviet spy and defected to Sweden and especially cruel towards the whole family. Mother wasn't enough strong to protect herself and kids from father. Lisbeth was the one who decided to take a step towards his dad. This brought a 13-year old kid to a mental hospital. The reason why she is so different from the other people is that she is the second best hacker in the world; she has a photographical memory, and don't want to reveal herself to anyone. *Aleksnder Zalachenko Lisbeth's father, who's responsible for Salander's difficult childhood. Was raised in the Russian military. He defected to Sweden in the 1970s and acted as a source for Sweden's Secret Police. He is now in his 60s. He is still under the protection of the "Säkerhets polisen". Actually it was one organization inside "Säkerhets polisen" called the section, that dealed with Zalatchenko, and hardly anyone knew about this union.

Ultimate Interview

"The efforts began a few years earlier and final result was in 1947" He replied. "Who was responsible for our independence?" "There were so many. Whom to mention? If I name one, it will be a injustice to another. " He replied. "Is corruption the number one enemy in our country?" "Some research is going on the subject and I can answer with certainly only after seeing the report" He replied. The interview board was very pleased with his original and thoughtful answers and asked him not to reveal the questions to others, since they were planning to ask the same questions. When he went out naturally others were curious to know what was asked. He politely declined, but one persistent Santa would not leave him. "At least tell me the answers" he pleaded, and our friend obliged. Then it was the turn of this Santa. When he went inside, since his resume was slightly illegible, the board member asked him." By the way, what is your date of birth?"

John Constable

using these as a basis for his large exhibition paintings, which were worked up in the studio. His pictures are extremely popular today, but they were not particularly well received in England during his lifetime. He did, however, have considerable success in Paris. Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows was painted by John Consatble in 1831, one year after his wife's death. He later added nine lines from ,,The Seasons" by 18th Century poet James Thomson that reveal the painting's meaning: That the rainbow is a symbol of hope after a storm that follows on the death of the young Amelia in the arms of her lover Celadon. I like the name of the painting Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows, because there is everything very clearly depicted in the painting is the perception and the message. In front of the painting you can see chariots with horses and in the background can be seen church and rainbow

Now you see me review

A year later a troupe of magicians called The Four Horseman, performs on Las Vegas. They represent a big difficult illusion, where a random person from audiance is teleported to bank in Paris in few seconds. About a minute later, the cash starts to fall down from the ceiling over the audience. The next day, FBI arrests The Four Horseman, and the big thrilling chase starts. The FBI, leaded by the general agent (Mark Ruffalo) and an Interpol detective (Mélanie Laurent), tries to reveal the secrets of the magic trick. At the same time The Four Horseman outwits them many times. Parallelly to the FBI a lordly ex-magician (Morgan Freeman) tries to find out the bank robbing secret. The film scrolls up to big finale, what ends with a culmnation and a lot of surprises. I truely enjoyed the movie. I have seen Louis Leterrier's films and "Now You See Me" is the best of them for sure. There was enough tricks and magic to keep you up waiting for the next illusion

Ishiguro's technique is to allow these characters to reveal their flaws.  Ishiguro's novels often end without any sense of resolution. The issues his characters confront are buried in the past and remain unresolved. But in the end, many of his characters accept their past and who they have become. Statistics reveal that, on average, a child watches up to 5 h of television per day and spends an average of 6 to 7 h viewing the various media combined. Body image issues have been on the rise rince the introduction of social media websites that hoste the idea of ,,perfect" or ,,idealized" body sizes. Report for Pride and Prejudice

In the end they marry and so does Jane with Mr. Bingley. Personal opinion I believe that Jane Austen tries to say that we should not judge the book by its cover and that we should look in the person's character deeper. I think that she has excellently achieved her purpose. The book is really well-written, the writing is effective and beautiful. She writes with great clarity and precision, and fills the dialogues with irony, making many characters reveal their foolishness to the reader through their ridiculous comments. Generally the characters are vivid and believable. The book is both humorous and deeply serious. Humour can be found everywhere in the book, in it's character descriptions, imagery, but mostly in it's conversations between characters. The strengths of the book are the descriptions of the personalities, dialogues and nature, which give a really good overview. The book also shows that while men and women

Dorian Gray, Lord Henry Wotton, Basil Hallward

To sum up Dorian Gray may look good from the outside but is restless and constantly fighting his demons in the inside. He is not worth anyone's affection or jealousy. Basil Hallward Basil is the perfect example of an isolated artist. He has a talent and his paintings are beautiful but as a perfectionist he is eager to point out mistakes. As art is his true passion, Basil puts his heart and soul into it. That is what makes him a bit paranoid, thinking that some of his paintings reveal too much of himself. He lacks the ability to look himself through other's eyes and understand that even though he may see the world in his work, others see it only as a pretty portrait. Basil struggles with his privacy issues as part of him wishes to share his art with others, but the other part is shy and protective over the paintings. If you get to know him, you'll find out that there is more to Basil than just art. He is a good natured but a bit obsessive person

Philip Larkin poetry analysis

Philip Larkin poetry analysis For my poetry analysis paper I chose Philip Larkin's works, because he was the first British poet whose works I read. I think that his poems are interesting. They reveal much about Larkin's life and about the social issues in the 20th century. Larkin is also considered to be one of the greatest English poets in the 20th century. I think that Larkin was quite interested in politics. For example his poem ´´Talking in Bed´´ begins with the lines /Talking in bed ought to be easiest, Lying together there goes back so far/. At first it gives the reader an idea that he is talking about two lovers, but actually he is talking about England and USA

As soon as Simon was left alone, he picked up the pistol, ran to Linnet's cabin and shot her adding the letter ,J' on the wall. He returned, shot himself in the leg using the

Slumdog Miliooner

Another show they use to add impact is the bird's eye view shot. They use this particular shot when Jamal and the show host were still facing off. Using this shot made you feel that they are in a gladiator type arena and they have nowhere to hide, it is just two people squaring off. This shot gave me as the audience the impression that Jamal and Prem are rivals fighting it out. This was Boyle's purpose for the audience to experience. Using cinematography adds further impact because they reveal power balances between Jamal and the show host. Another technique used in this film to show conflict between Prem and Jamal was the use of dialogue and gesture. In this movie an example of the dialogue was by the way Prem talks and his personality. In this movie Prem is a very arrogant, selfish and an unfriendly person. When Prem talks in this movie he is constantly talking sarcastically trying to make Jamal seem like a joke so that he gets intimidated. An example is when

English literature of the 14th, 15th century

would give a good meal and a night at the inn to the best storyteller. Altogether 144 stories, GC only managed to write 24 before his death. It is studied as a faithful reflection of 14th century life in England. GC was amused by his own characters and rarely criticises them sharply; shows a very deep understanding of human motivation. His comments reveal his profound understanding of the social problem of his day. o The Prologue paints the setting of the story. Introduces each character (30). GC himself functions as the narrator. He tries to be objective and tries to keep a distance from the characters. The descriptions are very vivid and economic. He pays attention to the pilgrims' clothes. E.g. the Knight has come back

Comparative law

A judge, therefore, in a civil law system, has considerably less authority or autonomy than a judge in a system based on common law. 2.What is Comparative Family Law? At the most basic level, comparative family law is the comparison of legal systems for the regulation of intimate and family lives. Comparison can be functional, serving to inform the discussion about similar or different institutional arrangements to address analogous legal problems arising all over the world. Comparisons can also reveal the structural nature of law, leading to questions about the role of legal narratives about family law, the effects of those narratives on the state and the structure of society and more importantly law as a form of legal reasoning that travels across time and space to create new institutional forms and doctrinal arrangements. The field of Comparative Family Law is undergoing rapid development despite initial constraints.

Turkey and the European Union

They are wary of demands by the European Parliament that Turkey should adopt a "more relaxed position" towards Islam in particular and religion in general. Other groups, too, such as emancipated young woman, atheists and gays, distrust the current government of the moderately religious AK Party, and expect that, at any moment, it will show its "true anti-secularist" colours (Zürcher, E.J., Linden, H., 2004). Examples from Dutch, European and Turkish contexts reveal a huge gulf between the broad public debate on "Islam" and Muslim fundamentalism, on the one hand, and the discussion among European experts and academics on the authoritarian- secular character of the Turkish state, on the other. The former usually gets mired in platitudes about Islam, Muslims, violence and fundamentalism, that do scant justice to the characteristics of Turkish Islam, culture and society. The second debate brings

Essay on water pollution, global warming, acid rain, deforestation, intensive farming

This leads to economies of scale and directly contributes towards meeting the ever-growing demand for food supplies. Disadvantages ✘ Intensive farming involves the use of various kinds of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides. Apart from this, it is also associated with farms that keep livestock above their holding capacity, which in turn leads to pollution, various diseases, and infections brought about by overcrowding and poor hygiene. ✘ Reports and studies reveal that intensive farming affects and alters the environment in multiple ways. Forests are destroyed to create large open fields, and this could lead to soil erosion. It affects the natural habitat of wild animals. Use of chemical fertilizers contaminates soil and water bodies, such as lakes and rivers. ✘ Pesticides sprayed on crops not only destroy pests and contaminate the crops, but also kill beneficial insects. Heavy use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers also affects the workers (who

acerbity: the author begins elliptically with a double negative, only slyly to refute it: "He was not an ill-disposed young man, unless to be rather cold-hearted and rather selfish is to be ill-disposed..." She then ends the paragraph by explicitly skewering both John and his wife: "Mrs. John Dashwood was a strong caricature of himself; more narrow-minded and selfish." Austen thus relies on understatement and irony to reveal her feelings towards her more disagreeable characters. Rational Use of Diagnostic Tests

hyperadrenocorticism. Diagnostic tests Diagnostic tests are often performed to establish a diagnosis or differentiate between two diagnoses in symptomatic patients. Since the goal is to definitively identify a specific disease state, these tests should have good specificity, which means there should be few false positive results. Tests with high diagnostic specificity are often used after screening tests to confirm diagnoses. In addition to confirming a disease state, diagnostic tests may also reveal additional information as well about the severity of disease. They can yield useful prognostic information and establish a baseline for treatment monitoring and disease progression. Often, several diagnostic modalities can be used to seek a diagnosis in a symptomatic patient. Each test has unique characteristics of which a clinician should be aware. For example, both thoracic radiographs and computed tomography (CT) scan can be used to evaluate pulmonary metastases

Movie review

Saito (Ken Watanabe) to infiltrate Robert Fischer's (Cillian Murphy) head to peform an inception to create and plant an idea in his mind. The problem is that memories of Dom's mysterious wife Mal (Marion Cotillard) and children keep invading his dreams, and won't let him accomplish the job without constantly throwing him off task. These haunting demons fill Cobb's head, and he just wants to find his way back to reality to be reunited with his children once again. That's all I'll reveal about the plot because to attempt to summarize it in more detail, would not only be an exercise in futility, but I also don't want to ruin the fun for anyone. Inception is so wisely crafted across the board. The cast does an amazing job. DiCaprio has no doubt become the # 1 pure movie star working today. He brings so much intensity to his performances, and Inception is one of his best. The rest of the players fall into place

Victorian age

Its innovative structure somewhat puzzled critics. Although it received mixed reviews when it first came out, the book subsequently became an English literary classic. In 1850, Charlotte edited and published Wuthering Heights as a stand-alone novel and under Emily's real name.(wikipedia) Wuthering Heights` innovative structure, which has been likened to a series of Matryoshka dolls because it does not follow a linear structure but employs such devices as flashbacks and two narrators which reveal the narrative step-by-step. · What is the plot of the Wuthering Heights? The narrative tells the tale of the all-encompassing and passionate, yet thwarted love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys both themselves and many around them. There are two narratives in the novel. It shows how you can't get anywhere by being evil. · Name Anne Brontë's works.

death at the age of 44.His mother was a quiet, gentle soul who was full of stories of her early life. In later years, Chekhov would say that "we inherited our talent from our father, but mother gave us soul". The other great passion of his formative years was nature, the Russiancountryside. As a port, Taganrog was surrounded on all sides by the landscapes of the Steppe and Chekhov's earliest stories reveal how intensely aware he was of his bond with the Don Steppe. Chekhov had always claimed that medicine was his wife and literature his mistress. Chekhov had lived for much of his career as a writer under the shadow of the great literary colossus of the age, Lev Tolstoy. The Seagull [Chaika] suffered one of the most disastrous first nights of any of Chekhov's plays when it opened in St Petersburg, in 1896, as a benefit night for a comic actress who had a huge, rowdy, popular following.
