The good and bad points of being rich and famous

Such people find it difficult to make true friends and maintain relationships long-distance. People around them look only to benefit from their fame and fortune, or socialize with them just because they are equally rich. Family is often not there, or children and parents just live a different life. They also don't have privacy - press is looking at the famous people all the time. There are both positive and negative aspects of money and fame, but most important is how people react to it and use it. In my opinion it's better to be normal than famous and rich because you have time for your family and you have your freedom....

Corporal punishment

Corporal punishment In my opinion corporal punishment is unnecessary in our society, because nowadays students may react too fiercely. I believe with all the changes taking place in our world today, it is not realistic to think that the idea of corporal punishment would ever take hold again in schools. I think that most children would respond negatively to a change like this and that this change would only create more of a problem in the long run. Bullying can have a very bad effect on the child who is being bullied and on the child who is allowed to go on bullying....

Homeless

The number of homeless has been growing in recent years, especially among the young. Many young people come to big cities in search of more exciting life. Because cheap accommodation is scarce ( ) , they can found themselves on the streets, living the life of a tramps. This unhappy experience can make them reject society and its values. As they wander the streets, dirty, without jobs, people who are working react angrily, calling them lazy good-for- nothings. When a woman leaves an abusive relationship, she often has nowhere to go. This is particularly true of women with few resources . Lack of affordable housing and long waiting lists for assisted housing mean that many women and their children are forced to choose between abuse ( ) at home or the streets. Whether a person is young or old, a permanently homeless state is the result...

Logical argument

8.2 Questions based on conditions with sentence adverbials " then" and "so" We punish murderers and rapists on Earth, so why shouldn't the same people rot in hell? but if you want to go to a nicer locality, you can spend all day getting there. Then how do you go about making your own arrangements? Other people are part of the environment and they have a right to react to wrong-doing to protect society. Then why shouldn't God send evil people to hell? That's why I'm advocating self-sufficiency as a goal. Then can you tell me what's wrong with helping one another out? 8.3 Deduced questions and conclusions with sentence adverbials "In that case" and "so" Scientists... often observe links between certain phenomena. In that case, would you describe astrology as a Science?...

Autodes kasutatavad pneuma-ja hüdrosüsteemid

While not using high pressure mineral oil, the system aims to achieve a result similar to the hydropneumatic suspension arrangement introduced in 1954 by Citroën. With a "leg up" on other companies, GM used its experience with commercial busses' air suspension to introduce systems for its car lines, beginning with the 1958 model year. Air bags at each wheel replaced the standard coil springs, and had sensors to keep the car level under load and in turns. It was too slow to react in sudden maneuvers, however. Period reviews rated the air suspension somewhat superior in ride quality, but not dramatically. Some reliability issues plagued these systems, as well. Thus, as an option, air suspension was short lived in that era. Vehicles that use air suspension today include models from Maybach, Rolls-Royce, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover/Range Rover, SsangYong, Audi, Subaru, Volkswagen, and Lincoln, among others....

Irene still hasn't officially been told by Soames. Aunt Anne is old and bedridden. She hears the new from Forsyte 'Change, and tells Aunt Hester to warn Soames to be very very careful. We find Soames ranting at Irene about something or other fairly unpleasant. He doesn't like June much. He gets the news about the house out under cover of the burst of irritation. She doesn't react . He clearly expected a reaction, and asks her if she heard. She already knew. She tells him that if he wants to know what she wants, he should ask her. Soames storms off. Irene reacts after he leaves, wondering what she's going to do. Bosinney has finished the plans of the house. He presents them to a puzzled Soames. Soames knows about painting, but not about architecture. All this talk about regularity is all very well, but won't it look like a barrack? Won't it be cold...

"Anna Karenina" kokkuvõte

"Anna Karenina" Lev Tolstoi Part 1 The novel opens with a scene introducing Prince Stepan Arkadyevitch Oblonsky, "Stiva", a Moscow aristocrat and civil servant who has been unfaithful to his wife Darya Alexandrovna, nicknamed "Dolly". Dolly has discovered his affair - with the family's governess - and the house and family are in turmoil. Stiva's affair and his reaction to his wife's distress shows an amorous personality that he cannot seem to suppress. In the midst of the turmoil, Stiva reminds the household that his married sister, Anna Arkadyevna Karenina is coming to visit from Saint Petersburg. Meanwhile, Stiva's childhood friend Konstantin Dmitrievich Levin ("Kostya") arrives in Moscow with the aim of proposing to Dolly's youngest sister Princess Ekaterina Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya, "Kitty". Levin is a passionate, restless but shy aristocratic landowner who, unlike his Moscow friends, chooses to live in the country on hi...

Homereading - body language

Body language Body language means communication with the movement or position of the human body. It can be conscious or unconscious. It is something that is noticed by everybody but is not always given enough attention. We sometimes ignore it and try to hide behind words, but we should never forget that we cannot fool everyone! Children react to body language because they experience the world through intuition. The same can be true for adults when feelings are involved. People who are in bad shape emotionally will often place great importance in it. In fact, they often pick up the smallest hint of a lapse in attention in the person they are speaking to. And they frequently jump to the conclusion that they are boring or a nuisance - thus compounding any sense of depression or poor self-esteem....

My charity day

My charity day If somebody has always had everything what he needs, then he does not think much about that how other people can make out with their lives and needs. That is why me and my friend Joan decided to devote one day to make other people happier. 42 I was waiting that day for months and when my clock alarm rang that morning I was so excited about what is going to happen. I woke up at 11 a.m, ate my breakfast and then went to shower. We decided to do the charity in Old Town, our destination was sell as much our clothes, what we do not need anymore, as we can. All the money, what we received, went to charity. 76 In the beginning we set up our clothes and then we started to waiting our first clients. It was our fist time to do something like that in the public and at the start we did not know how people would react for that activity. We were nicely surprised, because we did much better job than we first expected. ...

Gothic story

That was the last thing Ella remembered when she woke up- she had fainted and now when she looked at the timepiece she noticed it was five o'clock. It was still dark outside and the house was silent. There was a noise she couldn't identify coming from the garden and then some footsteps and a weak knock on the door. For a second Ella couldn't decide whether she was dreaming or not and if she should react to the knock. She then, very slowly got up and went to the door. She saw nothing from the peephole- it was too dark outside. Ella decided to open the door very slowly. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw a bloody hand fall in from the gap. Now she noticed a black figure lying on her doormat. Ella fainted again. This time the last thing she heard was the unknown figure moaning the words "Karma". The next time Ella woke up she was in a hospital. As a result of a concussion she didn't know...

The process by which humic acid forms in humus is not well understood, but the consensus is that it accumulates gradually as a residue from the metabolism of microorganisms. Transition and heavy metals--for example, Fe3+ or Pb2+--as well as other compounds having aromatic or hydrophobic (water-insoluble) chemical structures (i.e., organic pesticides or anthropogenic hydrocarbons), react strongly with humic acid. This property makes it an effective agent in sequestering many of the pollutants in terrestrial and aquatic environments. Fulvohape Väiksema molekulmassiga kui humiinhape. (slide) It means watering the concrete to keep all the previous factors as low as possible. (slide) Degradation of concrete is mainly caused by chemical affects such as reactions with sulfates, sea water, acids and alkalis and physical affects including frost, fire, wind and water erosion. The chemical processes are complicated and need special circumstances to react. As a result of those, concrete usually cracks. (slide) Sea water, however, may fill the pores of concrete in marine areas, which makes it even more durable. And finally, concrete usually contains steel constructions to shear strength and compensate stressed areas. (slide) But if the concrete gets damaged, the steel is also affected by corrosion. The corrosion is mainly caused by CO2 or chlorides, which can be found in sea water and road de-icing salts...

Stress

If you have trouble holding your breath, speed the exercise up but keep to the ratio of 4:7:8 for the three phases. With practice you can slow it all down and get used to inhaling and exhaling more and more deeply. Once you develop this technique by practicing it every day, it will be a very useful tool that you will always have with you. Use it whenever anything upsetting happens - before you react . Use it whenever you are aware of internal tension. Use it to help you fall asleep. Exercise 3: Breath Counting If you want to get a feel for this challenging work, try your hand at breath counting, a deceptively (petlik) simple technique much used in Zen practice. Sit in a comfortable position with the spine straight and head inclined (painutatud) slightly forward. Gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then let the breath come naturally without trying to influence it...
