H Where the card was for so long
Muriel´s Christmas card
Little Muriel Parkinson liked the boy who was staying at her mother´s
guesthouse. Leslie Ruggles was (1) C, which brought him to the Parkinsons´
house in Margate. During the summer they became close friends and were
always together.
Soon Leslie was well enough to return to his home in London. The two children
were sad but (2) D .
And sure enough, Muriel Parkinson reacived a Christmas card from Leslie. It
arrived, however, (3) E, for it has just reached her. It was posted the Christmas
after that happy summer they spent together. It dropped through the slot of the
door where Muriel, 81, (4) G ago. Her illness had forced her to leave her home
and move into an old people´s home. Now no one can clear up the mystery of
the Christmas card (5) F to arrive.
