Niagara Falls
· From largest to smallest, the three waterfalls are
the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the
Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie mostly on
the Canadian side and the American Falls entirely

The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on
the American side, separated from the other

Geology
· About 10,900 years ago, the Niagara Falls was

and Lewiston, New York, but erosion of their crest

Falls, which are approximately 2,600 feet (790 m)
wide, have also changed their shape through the
process of erosion; evolving from a small arch, to
a horseshoe bend, to the present day gigantic
inverted V.
