a significant percentage (even a majority) of the population is struggling to survive. Politics have led to dire conditions in many poorer nations. In many cases, international political interests have led to a diversion of available resources from domestic needs to western markets. This has resulted in a lack of basic access to food, water, health, education and other important social services. This is a major obstacle to equitable development. Poverty has also been described as the number one health problem for many poor nations as they do not have the resources to meet the growing needs. But poverty is not restricted just to developing countries. Industrialized nations are also seeing a sharp increase in poverty. While the current form of globalization is resulting in additional wealth, the disparities are sharp. Less people are turning out to be benefiting while an increasing number are left behind.

not necessary to kill something just to have a trophy on the wall at home. People can be proud of what they have done, but decreasing the population of a species largely will cause the specific animal breed to go extinct faster than it would happen via natural causes. Therefore, humans should stop hunting endangered species to slow down their extinction, as these species offer balance in the wildlife, are used without purpose in medicine, and may even reduce poverty. Species on the brink of extinction affect us more than we realize. Sure, pandas are cute, and rhinos are fun to look at, but is there anything more to that? All animals and plants form a very important part of our ecosystem that also includes our lands and waters. Remove one part from the environment and damage will be done. For example, after the last wolves were killed in Yellowstone Park in 1926, problems began to emerge. During the 70 years

Famine Carmen Kaljulaid 11 a World Hunger, Poverty & Famine: How They Fit Together 923 million people across the world are hungry. In essence, hunger is the most extreme form of poverty, where individuals or families cannot afford to meet their most basic need for food. Hunger manifests itself in many ways other than starvation and famine. Most poor people who battle hunger deal with chronic undernourishment and vitamin or mineral deficiencies, which result in stunted growth, weakness and heightened susceptibility to illness. Countries in which a large portion of the population battles hunger daily are usually poor and often lack
are concerned about the ‘conditionalities’ imposed on borrower countries. Often the conditionalities are attached without due regard for the borrower countries’ individual circumstances and the prescriptive recommendations by the World Bank and IMF fail to resolve the economic problems within the countries. As a example author is using Ecuador that is a small country in South America. In 1968- 1998 IMF and World Bank interviened with large loans to help the country but the growth of poverty increased form 50% to 70%, under or unemployment 15%to 70% and the public debt grew from 240 million to 16 billion (Perkins, 2004, lk 239). This essay is going to explore how this kind of thing could have happened? The idea is not to blame well-known organizations. The idea is to observe and explain what happened to Ecuador and discuss if the criticism about this matter is grounded. In this essay author is going to use a book “ Confessions of an Economic Hitman“ by John

As it is a widespread social problem it's also one of the worst ones, because the hatred directed to different races or even nationalities makes the foreign people feel bad and also to hate the locals. There are advantages as well as disadvantages of getting international aid. International aid could help in improving the country's position in the world. International aid can contribute to fighting global poverty, hunger and help get access to medical care. It can also provide to solve problems like terrorism, rehabilitation and many other problems. However, receiving countries could misuse international aid. Money could use to fund illegal activities and the strengthening of armed forces. International aid should be used very wisely and judiciously, only then can we eliminate poverty and hunger and other problems in the world.

Samal aastal hakati riigi olukorda parandama ning võeti vastu seadus millele põhinedes eraldati väikeste lastega peredele 1,6 miljardit eurot. Nende sissetulek kasvas 400 euroni kuus. KASUTATUD ALLIKAD Lyman, Eric J. choose you; indeed, friendship cannot grow where there is any calculated choice. It comes, like sleep, when you are not thinking about it; and you should be grateful, without any misgiving, when it comes. So no man who knows what friendship is ever gave up a friend because he turns out to be disreputable. His only reason for giving up a friend is that he has ceased to care for him; and, when that happens, he should reproach himself for this mortal poverty of affection, not the friend for having proved unworthy. For it is inhuman presumption to say of any man that he is unworthy of your friendship, just as it is to say of any woman, when you have fallen out of love with her, that she is unworthy of your love. In friendship and in love we are always humble, because we see that a free gift has been given to us; and to lose that humility because we have lost friendship or love is to take a pride in what should shame us.
family and continued teaching the boys for two more years. On the other hand Robert´s teachers were folk songs and ballads of his country. He knew a great number of them by heart. These years Robert read any book he could get. At the age of thirteen Robert had to take over most of the work on the famr because his father was growing old and weak. Those were hard times. Robert suffered from illnesses because of the hard work and little food. But inspite of all hardships and poverty at the age of fifteen Robert began to write. After his father ´s death the poet had to support his large family. He helped his brothers and sisters all his life even though he never had much money. Unfortunately, Robert Burns was not a successful farmer. The family had to live very poorly indeed. In Edinburgh he came into contact with the literary circles of the Scottish capital. He also toured Scotland and Northern England collecting ballads and folktales

Charles Dickens was born in 1812 in Portsmouth. His father was a clerk who earned relatively little money. In 1822 his family moved to London and Charles's education was interrupted by need to take poorly-paid work in factory because his father got into debt and imprisoned. In 1823 he became solicitor's clerk and a year later a newspaper reporter. His first short story was published in 1825 anonymously without payment and later he began writing under pen name `Boz' and described conditions of poverty in England. Ten years later he married Catherine Hogarth with whom he had 10 children. In 1842 he visited USA where he was treated as a celebrity because he was very well-known there. Between 1837 and 1865 some of his finest writings were published, many of them in instalments or monthly parts such as Oliver Twist and Christmas Carol. When Dickens and his wife separated in 1858, he began to work very hard and at his health, he eventually became exhausted and ill
Robert was sent to school at the age of six. Reading and writing, arithmetic, English grammar, history, literature and Latin - that was Robert Burn's education. When Burns came to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, a new and enlarged edition of his poems was published. He died in poverty at the age of thirty -- seven in 1796. On 25th January people all over the world celebrate Robert Burn's birthday by having Burn's Night Dinners. Robert Burns was Scotland's greatest poet , who wrote hundreds of songs and poems about love , the life of working people , the countryside , and his love of Scotland. On Robert Bern's birthday people read out some more his poems and sing the famous song Auld Lang Syne.

mindlessly buy things they do not even need. According to that there is overconsumption which also causes huge waste dumps. Lastly there is abuse of the natural resources in Estonia. While wasting paper, people do not think that it is made of both wood and water which should be saved. Therefore there is over-intensive logging and the area of woods is decreasing. To sum up there are no such environmental problems in Estonia such as widespread hunger and poverty whilst there are some smaller problems in comparison with the Third World countries. of income to many countries, it was not so couple of decades ago. This young branch of industry started developing in the second half of last century, when people had more money and sources than ever before. Importance of tourism to countries such as Egypt, Greece and Spain can not be questioned, as employment, service industry and opportunity to sell goods, is related to it. Tourism has also helped to build up certain regions, which otherwise would still be struggling in poverty. Futhermore, to make country desirable destination, governments have to keep crime rate under control, which makes life safer for locals as well. On the negative side, relentless waves of tourists increase our carbon footprint. Transportation increases pollution and creates gridlocks. Often big hotels consume unreasonably large amount of water, while locals are left in dry. And after all, tourist are not the ones who suffer from the effects, locals are.
large fine or sent to jail. I think that just putting criminals in prison does not help neither does it change them. Thus, when they get out of prison or pay their fine, they usually tend to fall back to their old ways and commit another crime. Criminals have different backgrounds so they have different reasons for their deeds. Some come from broken homes, some may have been influenced by their friends, some may have commited a crime out of lifes circumstances, for example poverty, and some crimes might happen by an accident, by human error. During and after their imprisonment criminals should get some mental help. A psychologist could figure out what is the reason for their criminal activity and could give them advice. If the criminal has some serious financial issues that he has not caused he should be given a job so that he could run his life back on tracks. I think that criminals should not just be sent to jail but given mental and (reasonable) financial

character that wore baggy pants, tight frock coat, large shoes on the wrong feet and a black derby hat. By his thirteenth film, Caught in the Rain (1914), Chaplin began to direct his own films. Chaplin now slowed the pace of his films, reduced the number of visual jokes but increased the time spent on each one. Chaplin placed the emphasis on the character rather than slapstick events. The themes of his films became more serious and reflected his childhood experiences of poverty, hunger and loneliness. Chaplin's work revolutionized film comedy and turned it into an art form. Chaplin's films were highly successful and became a household name throughout the world. Charles Chaplin died in Switzerland on 25th December, 1977.

The other problem, a little bit connected to the first one, is the greenhouse effect. The light from the Sun reaches us and after that the light reflexes from the Earth's surface back to the space, but thanks to the pollution, it absorbs and reflexes back to us again, causing global warming. The third problem is the fastly growing population. There are now more than 7 milliard people in the world and the number is still getting bigger. That leads us to the overcrowded cities, poverty and hunger. The recession causes the unemployment and different disagreements. To prevent that and much more, what may come in the future, we must think more about the environment and the people and animals, whose living in it. There are many campaigns about the recycling and reproducing, like "Teeme ära" and many others. We have to sort the packages and bottles we buy and help ourselves in that way, because we don't want our children to grow up in pollution and bad environment.
change drastically their personality. That is why we can not prevent all crimes every time or build a perfect society: because we are still plain humans. But we can improve on an environment by providing a higher level of education and security. In doing so, there will be a decrease in the attempts of crimes, since a higher level of social development was properly provided. Our world is well known by having a high level of poverty and all sorts of crimes. This is a consequence of bad governments that hav not provided the least welfare throughout the centuries. So, i agree with that statement. However, in my opinion our goverment has been doing some progress regarding crime prevention and social development. In its turn, even in a decent society no lacking primary needs there will be another kind of crimes, apparently harmless, such as: political corruption, bribery, money laundering, extortion, etc. The

Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - balancing the needs of human and natural systems. My vision is of a world free of war, hatred, and greed. It is a world in balance with nature, a place where poverty and starvation have been abolished and replaced with equality for all. It is a time where we have liberated ourselves from the grip of racism and discrimination and embrace individual and cultural diversity. I see a future in which we meet the basic needs of every man, woman, and child and extend to all the opportunity to realize their hopes and dreams for a better life. It is a vision where education and health are accessible to everyone and where all human beings share in clean water and air

different periods (childhood, adolescence) of Jamal. Some questions do not refer to points of his life (cricket champion), but by witness he comes to the right answer. I think it was an excellent movie with fantastic cast and acting. The director Danny Boyle is a master. Every scene is explosive- emotionally and visually. I loved the story of Jamal, it was very colorful and the special effects within were superb. The film gave me a good overview of the Indian orphans, slaughter, poverty, organised crime, enslavement and police brutality. But what i loved the most is that, besides all the brutality there is warmth and humanity in this film. The romance in this film is also breathtaking, the love story of Jamal and Latika is so sweet, that it brought tears to my eyes. The end is very moving and a wonderful soundtrack completes the entire experience. This is one of my favourite films what i have seen in many years, so I would definitely

Chinese toy factories introduction There’s a reason how US children can have their toys so cheap. About 75% of the world's toys come from China, where migrant workers are paid an average salary of $240 a month. Extreme poverty in China's rural areas drives many people from the countryside into the cities to look for these types of jobs. facts Every day, the workers have to arrive 15 minutes before the regular work shift begins for a work assembly. Their living conditions are prison-like. Up to six people share small, cramped dormitories and up to 50 people share one bathroom. Schools send student workers to these factories to do “internships."
