Js living just fine compared to other ethnic groups. Like others, standing in food
lines, integrating, getting into big universities (though not in certain areas).
End of SU, hyper-nationalism, first time since Civil War, Panyat (Memory), violent
antisemtism in the street. Pensions disappeared in a day. Where no govt, perhaps
pogroms. Violence turned out to be more against people with darker skin.
Still coming from SU. Should be 0 according to census from 70s[?]. 70s and 80s, Js
to US as refugees. No longer in 1989. No longer political danger, just like others
from political perspective. Long wait, $. Many didn't want to wait, most to il. 92-94,
