Iguazu Falls
are on the Argentinian side. Below its confluence
with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River is
kind of like a boundary between Argentina and
Brazil. The name "Iguazu" comes from Tupi
words meaning Water and Big.
Iguazu Falls are located where the Iguazu River flows over the
edge of the Oarana Plateau which is around 23km upriver from
Iguazu's confluence. About half of the entire river's flow
falls into "The Devil's Throat". "The Devil's
Throat" is a long and narrow U-Shaped chasm (fissure) which is 82 metres high,
150m wide and 700m long.
Fun Fact Iguazu Falls have been featured in any movies including Indiana
Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
