Third World countries are often described as "developing" while the First World, industrialized nations are often "developed". A lack of material wealth does not necessarily mean that one is deprived. A strong economy in a developed nation doesn't mean much when a significant percentage (even a majority) of the population is struggling to survive. Politics have led to dire conditions in many poorer nations. In many cases, international political interests have led to a diversion of available resources from domestic needs to western markets. This has resulted in a lack of basic access to food, water, health, education and other important social services. This is a major obstacle to equitable development.
Being an exchange student An exchange student is a high school student who has made a desicion to study abroad for one year. In addition, to experience the lifestyle of another nation. Being an exchange student has its advantages and disadvantages. First advantage would be living in a foreign country, a new language is quaranteed to be learned. While communicating with other people, a person may find himself around new possible friends. Secondly, gaining the new experiences could change one´s life forever. Every country has its own culture and it is claimed that spending some time abroad makes a person able to see cultural differences from another perspective
