Dorian Gray, Lord Henry Wotton, Basil Hallward

Dorian Gray Dorian Gray is the kind of person you could look up to from far far away but whom you would never want to be. To others he seems pretty, almost ideal but in the real world there is no such thing as an ideal person. His good looks does him no good in more than just one way. It makes him vain and obsessed with his appearance. Also looking good is something everyone wants to achieve. And people who envy you often gossip and start nasty rumors about you. A person like Dorian Gray worries about his fading beauty and would do almost anything to keep it. For example he would wish a pretty portrait of himself age instead of him. It is easier to hide away a ugly-looking painting, that depicts the eeriness of your soul, than yourself. All that matters is the present day and the face that you see from the mirror. Right? As it turns out, even for Dorian, the saying out of mind- out of sight doesn't really work. You can only

environmental friendly. Secondly, an e-book has a lot of good qualities, for example, you can purchase a book every time you want in spite of going to the book store. Also, if you have a smartphone or a laptop you will always have your books with you, just in case you want to read. An e-book is also more environmental friendly. But an e-book has also some disadvantages. For example, you have your laptop or smartphone battery life to worry about and you can catch some nasty software bugs in the reader and cause it to freeze up. To sum up, everyone has their favorite ways to read a book and I think that both will survive because there will always be people who prefer a traditional paper book to an e-book and also people who prefer an e-book to a traditional paper book.

help with. From time to time we fight but have you ever heard of sisters who don't have their differences but we resolve them quite fast that sometimes we even forget why we were fighting at the first place. I like the fact that she doesn't get angry when i borrow something of hers and the same goes vice versa. To be quite frank I adore my sister and sometimes even admire the things she is willing to do for me because sometimes I can really act nasty against her but as I said before we resolve our differences fast and the hate part just fades away. The fact that my sister is willing to take blame for something I've done and tries to protect me is the most heart touching and I know even when we are fighting that deep down we still love and care for each other.

among the British and American audiences alike. Billed as a "situation tragedy" on the BBC, it ran three seasons and later spawned a couple of specials. Atkinson made his major feature film bow with a small, yet comical role in the James Bond thriller, Never Say Never Again. In the late '80s he starred in a few films penned by Curtis. It was while they were filming The Tall Guy that Atkinson and Curtis created Mr. Bean, an average British Joe with a clumsy nature and a nasty streak and launched a series. With virtually no dialogue, the comedy and its star became famous worldwide. Running for six years, Mr. Bean developed a cult following and by the late '90s had spawned a feature film.

Weather and climate

Colors of these leaves that just start to wither are warm and they comfort me when I feel down. Days become shorter and the nights longer. It isn't so hot in the daytime anymore. At the end of summer apples, pears, plums and other fruit become ripe. In the South there are many oranges, peaches and tangerines. Autumn is pleasant when it does not rain. Generally autumn is a rainy season of the year. When it rains the weather is nasty. The sky is covered with heavy clouds. It drizzles. It is muddy and wet.

Bullying

Sometimes the best thing you can do for a person who is being bullied is just to be there for him or her and be a friend. Whether this means agreeing to walk home with him or her after school, sitting with him or her on the bus or at lunch, trying to include him or her in your school or social activities, or just spending some time with him or her and trying to understand what he or she is going through. I know what feeling you have when someones is calling you with nasty names or talking rubbish about your parents. It will make such an anger inside you that you really want to kill that person who is bullying you. It's hard to talk about serious things with adults sometimes, but they can help to stop bullying. Tell an adult that you trust and can talk to your parents, your teacher, your best friends or even your neighbour. If you've told a grown-up before and they haven't done anything about it, tell someone else

Persia or Italy, but local legend insists the delicacy was invented right here at Tallinn's Town Hall Pharmacy. Long ago, so the story goes, a town alderman fell ill and summoned the apothecary to prescribe a cure. The expert apothecary knew an elaborate formula he was certain would work, but the alderman insisted that the apothecary test the medicine on himself. As fate would have it, the apothecary caught a nasty cold, so the preparation (and guinea pig) duty fell to his young apprentice, Mart. Being a clever lad, Mart replaced each bitter ingredient with a sweet one. Not only did the tasty remedy work, but the alderman loved it so much that he ordered it in large quantities and made it famous throughout Tallinn and beyond. The sweet bread-like confection became known as Mardileib, or Mart's bread.

ACCESS ASSESSMENT COVER SHEET Student Name: Alex Callaghan EC1305063 Course: Access to Humanities Tutor: John Gordon Assessment Title: Critically evaluate Locke's theory of limited government Number of Words 1616 NOTE: The ESSAY should be 1500 words in length. Student signature - Alex Callaghan Date - 24/04/2014 Critically evaluate Locke's theory of limited government The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings, capable of laws, where there is no law there is no freedom. John Locke Although John Locke is not the progenitor of social contract theory and is not by any means the last philosopher to wrestle with this concept, his views on fiduciary power, majority consent and limited government have been instrumental in western political thought from the time of the publication of his Two treatises of government to the present day. Analysis of literature: prose (2 assignment)

Leopolda perhaps doesn't like Indians, she always says to Marie that the Dark One wants her most of all. Marie stands out for her. 9. Analyse the relationship between Marie and Sister Leopolda. Give examples of the sadistic tendencies of the latter. How are the girl's pain and suffering brought home to the reader? Are the two heroines in any way similar? Sister Leopolda is the sadistic nun who tortures Marie, she seems to actually think she is doing Marie some good with her nasty behaviour by driving the devil from Marie's mind/body. One day, she decides to pour boiling water over Marie to chase the Devil out, declaring, "I will boil him from your mind if you make a peep... by filling you your ear" She puts Marie to sleep behind the stove. She stabs her through the hand with the fork, then takes the poker up alongside her head, and knocks her out. As a result of the painful torture she gets high on adrenaline. At

When such a match was lost by a black fighter, the homicide rate during the following 10 days rose significantly for young black male victims but not young white males. On the other hand, when a white fighter lost a match, it was young white men, but not young black men, who were killed more frequently in the next 10 days. When these results are combined with the parallel findings in Phillips' suicide data, it is clear that widely publicized ag- gression has the nasty tendency to spread to similar victims, no matter whether the aggression is inflicted on the self or on another. Perhaps nowhere are we brought into more dramatic contact with the un- settling side of the principle of social proof than in the realm of copycat crime. Back in the 1970S, our attention was brought to the phenomenon in the form of airplane hijackings, which seemed to spread like airborne viruses. In the 1980s,

In the end it is all the same, it does not matter when you are writing your music… or whether you believe it is important (for yourself at least). All depends on your inner charge and talent. I will answer for it, he never cared three straws about her-- who could about such a nasty little freckled thing?" Elizabeth was shocked to think that, however incapable of such coarseness of expression herself, the coarseness of the sentiment was little other than her own breast had harboured and fancied liberal!
