-How much does life weigh-

rtf

''How much does life weigh?''

Then comes the question that cannot be proven whether this loss is our souls or not. The movie ''21 grams'' brings up a subject that everything we are weights only 21 grams. It is a weight of a chocolate bar, a hummingbird. Still, without these few grams we cannot live without. With these facts, life seems truly inconsequential to me. The first thought, that came into my mind, was whether this is all we are actually worth. It depends on a person, I believe that life is worth as much as you make it worth. Some may hold into these 21 grams one truly valuable life with everything in it. Others may hold a life, that has just passed by. These are the people who have done nothing but just existing for their whole lives. Something needs to be done in order to be content with your life. Before actual dying, people start to think their whole life through. This is the time, when we forget the little things that once seemed awfully important, and start to think a little further

Essay You can never have too much money

You can never have too much money I have often heard people say that they can never have too much money. Money is definitely very important in our society. Also it is often said that money changes people. It is obvious that it changes how people look, but what is more important, is that wanting more and more money changes people’s values. There is nothing wrong with wanting a little bigger salary, more money from parents and so on, but you must remember that you can not be greedy and selfish. Perhaps people should pay more attention on things that do not cost, for example friendship.

How much do you know about biology?

organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy.[1] Biology is a vast subject containing many subdivisions, topics, and disciplines. Although biology in its modern form is a relatively recent development, sciences related to and included within it have been studied since ancient times. Natural philosophy was studied as early as the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indian subcontinent, and China. Much of modern biology can be encompassed within five unifying principles: cell theory, evolution, genetics, homeostasis, and energy. Cell theory states that the cell is the fundamental unit of life, and that all living things are composed of one or more cells or the secreted products of those cells. Evolution is now used to explain the great variations of life found on Earth. Genes are the primary units of inheritance in all organisms. A gene is a unit of heredity and corresponds

Argumentative essay "Too many people spend too much time playing games and sports"

Too many people spend too much time playing games and sports Most of the people are not able to imagine their own world without either games or sports. Some say that people nowadays spend too much time playing games and sports. It is my opinion that it is important to do sports and playing games is developing. First of all, there aren’t too many people who do sports, i’d say too less. Most people I know enjoy staying indoors. I think everyone should take part in sports in order to have healthy body and a healthy mind. Secondly, playing computer games is rather good than bad. Games help people relax and they can teach us a lot about history or geography as well.

Somerset Maugham "French Joe" kokkuvõte!!

People in Sydney told me not to go, because there was nothing to see and I should get my throat cut. He had come up from Sydney in a Japanese tramp. He arrived in he middle of the night and one of the sailors told him that if he turned left he should presently come to a two-storey building, which was a hotel. The boat pushed off. He didn't like the idea of sleeping on hard stones on a jetty. So he started walking towards the hotel. He seemed to walk much more than a few hundred yards which it should be, but a little bit later he saw a building. No light showed, but his eyes were used to the darkness, so he found a door. There was no door bell, he knocked with his stick as loudly as he could, then a window was opened and there was a woman. She came down and greeted him warmly, then took him upstairs and showed him a room. The woman was in a red flannel dressing-gown, her hair was a little bit over her shoulders in long black wisps

Beowulf poem and Grendel book-comparison

Beowulf(poem and Grendel(book) comparison

Comparison of "Beowulf" and "Grendel" by John Gardner The text has more or less the same meaning in both of the extracts. The differences lie in the language use, character types, speakers, layout etc. In the original "Beowulf" epic Grendel displays nothing but the most primitive human qualities. He is a grotesque monster who terrorizes a small community of Danish warriors. Therefore he can be called a flat character. In the book "Grendel" the protagonist and antagonist have been swapped. Gardner greatly alters the monster's characterization. In his novel, very little separates Grendel from his human counterparts: he has a high level of intelligence, as well as a human capacity for both emotion and philosophy. As the text is written in the first person point of view through Grendel's eyes, one gets a quite good picture of him. Unfortunately he is fighting with the inevitable. He keeps attacking and eating t...

Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town

Too much money is being spent on preserving the old part of town The Medieval Old Town is the center of Tallinn. Most of the major national and international companies are headquartered near the Old Town. Since the economy is not in a good shape right now the question of financing the old parts of Tallinn has been raised. Many people claim that spending money on preserving the old parts of Tallinn is not the best idea when people are having hard times. They are having trouble with making money in the first place. Also there are other fields, which are more important than the Old Town, such as education that need to be financed. Nevertheless, the Old Town is very important to tourism. For this reason money spent on old parts of Tallinn is not money wasted. Tourism is extremely important in todays economy and the Old Town of Tallinn is the main Estonian tourist attraction. It even became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site ...

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip school because of the bad weather, teachers should put homework and the work that should

The park includes castle complex, luxurious gardens with more than 800 sorts of plants, large beach, amazing terraces, cafés, mysterious spring cave, singing stage and much more. One of the main reason I like it is that there you can always find place for yourself. You can walk in the park, relax on the beach, read on a park bench or just enjoy incredibly beautiful views. There are a lot of interesting places to see. One of the most visited places are the area near terrace, where you can find wonderful rose garden, which is very colorful and aromatic. Efficient initiatives to help protect the environment

Efficient initiatives to help protect the environment Just like our bodies, the environment functions best when it's in balance. Unfortunately, we're not quite there. Many of us believe that we lead lives that respect nature but our consumption habits give us away. Many little habits that seem to be sustainable are in fact polluting. Along with pollution, issues like depletion of resources, the rise of consumerism, and the "throw away" culture have led to serious issues. That being said, the fight's not over yet. Fortunately, more people than ever are both aware of and active in the protection of the environment. To protect the environment, waste management and recycling are crucial. When we recycle, used materials are converted into new products, reducing the need to consume natural resources. If used materials are not recycled, new products are made by extracting fresh, raw material from the Earth, through mining and forestry. R...

If students prefer internet to books, then schools would start using computers instead of books. When money is so important, then why people say that its the root of all evil. Money is also something that causes a lot of troble. For example when you have it much then some people only are friends with you because they need money. Like, they play friends with you only because they know that when they need money then they can borrow that from you. Also it causes troble too when you do not have money. Because when you do not have it you think that you are so unhappy only because you do not have money. It is because you cannot buy things you think you need to be happy. But I do not think it does. I think we borrow it from the future. Firstly we are using too much water nowadays. We are wasting it and not thinking about the future, but we should. Lately the media has started to speak more about the need for clean water, specially in some parts of the Earth. In the past people did not have showers or baths, toilets with water, dishwashers. These and many other things use more water, than people used to. Secondly we are producing a lot more, than we maybe should. It seems like the most meaningful thing nowadays is money

We always think we have so much time. We postpone our duties, work and responsibilities. But it is such a shame to waste time, because we never now what might happen tomorrow. Secondly, it would be much easier to do these things today not tomorrow. Everybody should live one day at a time. When life gives us a chance to explore something new and exciting and meet interesting people, we should definitely use the oportunity. I think you have to be quite spontaneous to enjoy life. Computers are able to do everything that make our life easier, but why are there still so many different opinions about ones' usefulness? The positive side of having computers in our life is how much it actually changes our life and makes it easier. There are no problems, I mean literally no problems that computers could not do. Computers are used to find information, read news, study, and some even play computer games. But to be exact, computer is not only that small box that stays under our desks or the lap-tops that are well known today. Let's put that number in context. If you are a sports fan, you could afford a 248-season contract for one of the most paid basketball players in the world, Lebron James. At that time it was eight times the budget, which was approved by the Estonian Government. So it was a heavy sum to pay. In Britain I think they can only blame themselves. You see, unlike many other nations, the UK has no single core constitutional document. In this sense, it is said not to have a written constitution, but much of the British constitution is embodied in written documents, within statues, court judgments and treaties. So in my opinion that's a stupid system. Because if you watch other countries how much do they pay for compensation claims then it's nothing. Though in other countries there are huge sums what civilians get from companies. A former female police officer was awarded an estimated £1,000,000 in a package, after complaining of bullying and sexual and racial harassment. For instance I think

Canada and the United States. Climate/Land The northern part of Canada has very long, cold winters. Over most of the rest of Canada the winter are longer and colder than in the United States. Only in the southern part and on the west coast is the climate as mild as in the western part of the United States. Towering mountains, crystal-clear lakes and green forests make Canada's far west a beautiful region. Fields of wheat and other grains cover Canada's vast prairies. Much of Canada is covered with forests. Western forests produce much timber. Much of Canada's soil is thin and rather poor. During the Ice Age almost all of Canada was covered with sheets of ice. These ice sheets moved southward. As they did so, the carried away much soil from Canada and pushed it down into the United States. Stretching west from the Great Lakes and Hudson Bay there are great prairies. West of the prairies there is a mountain Wonderland. The

November 12, 2014 Dear sir or madam, I have just read your advertisement for school-leavers to appear in the city guide’s job. I would very much like to present our town’s most beautiful sights. I am an 18-year-old girl. I do not have any work experience. I think I am very friendly and I really enjoy meeting new people. I like to socialize and I can speak English, Estonian and German very well. Others think I am conscientious and I have good knowledge of history. If I got this job, I would very much like to present our town’s most beautiful sights. First I think that I would like to show The London Eye, because it gives

Prepare them for the mystery, for something we have no idea about how it’s going to be. If I had no younger relatives, I’d have to dissagree with him - I mean, when I was in secondary school I had to study mostly only those subjects I’d really need in the future. But I have some relatives younger than I am. The youngest is 9 right now. And when I look at what she must study, well, I studied it in 4th or 5th grade and I didn’t have to study that much with that heavy pressure. He also talks about talent and how we call it. We see a kid with a tremendous ability and we think right away that he or she is so talented. Actually, what I think is that kid had just found something he/she feels passinoate about and practiced a lot. Of course there are some super kids, who haven’t practiced that much but are still very good at what they’re doing. Just not that much as much we think there are. I mean, for a kid it’s easy to look talented

The computer has greatly improved our lives today Nowadays, computers are a big part of our lives and they have made pretty much everything simpler and more entertaining. On the other hand, the misuse of them can be extremely dangerous. On the positive side, computers are great tools for school and different jobs. Using the Internet it is possible to communicate with each other and access to information faster. Until here, I have done really well at school. I have some few bad marks and lots of good marks. Teachers are usually satisfied with my results. Ofcourse my mother still ,,knows" that I could do better. But I'm already doing better. I guess she's never satisfied with my work. As a family were doing perfect. I think as I'm now completely got over my adolescence age, we don't fight so much anymore. It's nice because now the homely atmosphere is much effortless. And as we get along well, I hope that my summer plans will be bigger than ever. Including the trip to London to visit you. I can't wait to tell you and oncle Jo about Estonia, there's so much to talk about. Don't forget to send me your new address! Best wishes .....(name)

Word processing versus handwriring hinne 5

Word processing versus handwriting Technology has definitely changed the way I write, in both quality and quantity. For me writing is more of a chore than an enjoyable activity. To be honest, I hate writing; essays, and assignments, even long e-mails sometimes bother me. When I sit down with my laptop to write an essay I look at the word processing screen and all I see is how much I haven't written and how much I have left to write. The task in front of me becomes more daunting and frustrating. I feel like when I write on the computer my words are chosen to simply fill a page. Handwriting provides an escape from the looming word counts and page numbers. We discussed in class how writing by hand forces you to think out your sentences and chose your words more carefully. I agree that while typing we simply type whatever comes to mind and completely. This
