Arts & Crafts movement

Arts&Crafts Movementi on piiritletud aastatega 1861-1914. · Arts&Crafts Movement ideed pärinesid kunstikriitiku ja teoreetiku John Ruskin`i kirjutistest, kuid realiseerusid kunstniku William Morrise tegevuses.

The Role of the Hippie Movement in 21st Century Britain

They also promoted the use of psychedelic drugs which they believed expanded their consciousness. Hippies participated in alternative arts and street theater and listened to folk music and psychedelic rock as part of their anti-establishment lifestyle. Some hippies lived in communes or aggregated communities of other hippies. It kinda identifies with the famous “yolo” (You only live once) thinking. I’m not exactly sure if this can be put under the role of hippie movement in 21st century, but if I start to think about this, it is almost the same. Hippies in 1960’s used different drugs etc to expand their counsciousness; today’s (not only) hipsters use also drugs and alcohol to relax and get away from reality. This generation is a return to the hippie era. Among a select group of mostly college- graduates from more affluent, educated families, there is decided a turn away from

However, he later concluded that the Bible has "many profound truths which one cannot escape" and decided to enter the seminary. King was very precocious student, he skipped both the ninth and the twelfth grades and entered Morehouse College at age fifteen without formally graduating from high school. He had degree of sociology. King married Coretta Scott, on June 18, 1953, they became the parents of four children. During their marriage, King limited Coretta's role in the civil rights movement, and expected her to be a housewife. So let’s turn to the his activist movement and orator career. First of all, all started from religion, King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, when he was twenty-five years old, in 1954. His views was strongly based on Jesus Christ beliefs, so the main influence was Jesus Christ. Besides, he thought, that we should love our neighbor as yourself, and also love enemies, pray for them and bless them

Wave-energy

There are several possibilities to harvest different forms of energy from the sea. One of these options is the usage of waves for the generation of electricity. The devices needed to perform this task are called wave energy converters. Wave energy is indirect solar energy in twice. At first there is the wind, which is caused by variations in atmospheric pressure due to a differential solar heating of earth's surface by the sun. Different regions of pressure drives a force which rises a movement of atmospheric air masses that causes the earths wind system. If wind strikes over the surface of an open water, waves are induced. First they are very flat with only a low level of energy. When there is a long distance over the water on which wind can attack the small ones, they became bigger and bigger with a lot of energy inside them. Physics of wave energy To have a better understanding of the technical possibilities to harvest the energy

17101850 The century and a half following the Great Northern War, which ended with the Peace of Uusikaupunki, was a relatively static period in Estonian history with few momentous events. This was the time of the crystallization and the culmination of serfdom, when various socio- political and cultural undercurrents were also active, preparing the ground for the industrial society and the national-democratic movement in the second half of the 19th century. The 1710 of the corporations of knights and towns, until Alexander II (18551881), established the relationships between Estonia, Livonia and the Russian Empire. The Baltic Landesstaat reached its full development.

Teadvus on kadunud vaid ajutiselt, piisavalt tugev ärritaja on võimeline inimest äratada. Selles aspektis erineb magamine koomaseisundist ja anesteesiast. Enamusel inimestel on magamise ajal silmad kinni, osa ajast on magajad liikumatud, teatud ajavahemike järel liigutavad nad ennast unes. Unetsükkel kestab 90-100 minutit, tavaliselt on magamise kestel 4-6 tsüklit. Esimest nelja faasi nime...

He was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement and fought for the rights and social equality for people of all races using non-violent methods. These methods included giving his famous speech in which he spoke about racial discrimination and asked for equality and acceptance among all races. This speech accomplished many things, but most importantly it made people become conscious of the fact that racism was an issue that needed to be solved and it changed how people treated each other. Baroque Baroque (pronounced /brok/ b-ROHK in American English or /brk/ in British English) is an artistic style prevalent from the late 16th century to the early 18th century in Europe.[1] It is most often defined as "the dominant style of art in Europe between the Mannerist and Rococo eras, a style characterized by dynamic movement, overt emotion and self-confident rhetoric". The popularity and success of the Baroque style was encouraged by the Roman Catholic Church, which had decided at the time of the Council of Trent, in response to the Protestant Reformation, that the arts should communicate religious themes in direct and emotional involvement. The aristocracy also saw the dramatic style of Baroque architecture and art as a means of impressing visitors and expressing triumphant power and control

For example, from Estonia many doctors have gone to Finland where the salary is three times bigger, but at the same time, there are not enough doctors in Estonia. The second bad thing for new member countries in this rule is free movement of goods. One way, it is very good that people can buy goods with better prices, because there would be no duties. In the other hand, it's bad for local companies, who must compete with whole Europe and at the same time they have to adopt the new rules (ecological, health protection at the working places etc) what usually need big investments (cleaning equipment, infrastructure).

The Universe according to Douglas Adams

since it was impossible to do this before time travel was invented, there is a certain amount of confusion as to how the idea was arrived at in the first place (113). Flight was a recurring theme in the novel. One of the common definitions is the following: "Flight is the process by which an object moves, through an atmosphere (especially the air) or beyond it (as in the case of spaceflight), by generating aerodynamic lift, propulsive thrust, aerostatically using buoyancy, or by ballistic movement, without direct support from any surface." The way Adams had envisioned it was that the general rule of thumb was to throw oneself at the ground and miss. This was achieved by getting distracted enough so one would not acknowledge the fact that one was flying. Drawing any attention towards oneself was not recommended, as the laws of gravity would notice and instantly drop one back to the ground. Interstellar distances were crossed using the Bistromathic Drive. The whole idea behind

DANCING Since earliest times, people have awlays enjoyed dancing. Dancing generally means moving your body. Usually to music and rhythm. Dance is presented in a spiritual setting or as a performance. Dancing is a good way to spend leisure time. It's good for relaxing and expressioning one's feelings. Dancing helps lift one's mood and gives a good feeling. It is a field of sport that keeps people beautiful. Dancing also develops one's movement. Dance is the world's most famous metaphor. It is the hidden language of the soul. Dancing is dreaming with your feet. All it takes is to convince your mind to move your feet. To touch, to move, to inspire. This is the true gift of dance. The only way to dance, is to believe in yourself and do it. It is not possible to say when dance became part of human culture. religious or repress his desires. In ´´Annus Mirablis´´ he is writing how the freedom of sexual intercourse came in 1963. The Beatles became popular and Lawrence's novel Lady Chatterley has been the subject of a high profile court case, after it was banned as being obscene. Larkin was happy about the new era and new possibilities, but he says that it's already too late for him. Larkin was not only interested in politics, but he was also part of the Men's Movement. Other members were also for example Ezra Pound and Thomas Stearns Eliot. Larkin wrote about violence towards women and about violence against images of women. In his poem ´´Sunny Prestatyn´´ the protagonist is a girl. I think that she may represent femininity or the whole female race. In the second stanza Larkin writes´´ She was slapped up one day in March.´´ And he is describing in a quite brutal way how her teeth are hit out and how a man with tuberculosis is raping her

world and its lovers of beauty. ([http://artradarjournal.com/2010/01/21/what-is-street-art- vandalism-graffiti-or-public-art-part-i/] 14.01.18) 2. WHERE DID IT COME FROM? Some of the earliest expressions of street art were certainly the graffiti which started showing up on the sides of train cars and walls. This was the work of gangs in the 1920s and 1930s New York. The impact of this subversive culture was extraordinarily felt in the 1970s and 1980s. This cultural movement was recorded in the book The History of American Graffiti, by Roger Gastman and Caleb Neelon. These decades were a significant turning point in the history of street art – it was a time when young people, by responding to their socio-political environment, started creating a movement, taking the ‘battle for meaning’ into their own hands. Soon, this subcultural phenomenon gained the attention and respect in the ‘grown-up’ world.

Uni ja unenäod referaat

Selles astmes tekivad aeglased suure amplituudiga deltalained. See aste hõlmab 3–8% kogu uneajast. 4. aste – sügav uni ehk deltauni. Silmamunad püsivad paigal. Sel ajal on magajat kõige raskem üles ajada. See aste hõlmab 10–15% kogu uneajast. 5. aste – Kiire ehk paradoksaalne uni. Iseloomustus:  Lihastoonus on väga madal  kiired silmaliigutused

The Origins of American Literature

Charles Baudelaire. The mid-19th cent was a period of astonishing literary creativity in Am lit. In the short space of 6 years, four monumental lit works were published: Nathaniel Hawthorne's (1804-64) The Scarlet Letter (1850), Herman Melville's (1819-91) Moby Dick (1851), Henry David Thoreau's (1817-62) Walden (1854) and Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass (1855). This period witnessed the highest lit expression of the Puritan tradition and the emergence of a new cultural and philosophical movement, Transcendentalism. Although the Am frontier was being pushed westward, Massachusetts and Virginia, the Puritan strongholds in the east, remained the centre of cultural activity. The Puritan heritage is clearly evident in the work of Nathaniel Hawthorne, who wrote about the conflict between the good and evil set in the dark, Puritan, New England past. In his masterpiece The Scarlet Letter he uses a mixture of fantasy and realism,

Mangrove forest

MIS ON MANGROVE FOREST ÜLDSE? Mangrove swamps are found in tropical and subtropical tidal areas. Many mangrove forests can be recognized by their dense tangle of prop roots that make the trees appear to be standing on stilts above the water. This tangle of roots allows the trees to handle the daily rise and fall of tides, which means that most mangroves get flooded at least twice per day. The roots also slow the movement of tidal waters, causing sediments to settle out of the water and build up the muddy bottom. KAARDIGA SLAID Mangroves can be found in over 118 countries and territories in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The largest percentage of mangroves is found between 5° (degrees hääldad seda kraadi märki) North and 5° South latitudes.[20] Approximately 75% of world's mangroves are found in just 15 countries. Asia has the largest amount (42%) of the world's

extravagant hairdo and several fingers were grossly retouched - it is nonetheless in better condition than many of Leonardo's other paintings. The sitter's hair is confined tightly to her head under a very fine net veil with a woven border of gold-wound threads. As in many of Leonardo's portraits, the composition comprises a pyramidic spiral and the sitter is caught in the motion of turning to her left, reflecting Leonardo's life-long preoccupation with the dynamics of movement. This work in particular shows da Vinci's expertise in painting the human form. The outstretched hand of Cecilia was painted with great detail. Da Vinci paints every contour of each fingernail, each wrinkle around her knuckles, and even the flexing of the tendon in her bent finger. Da Vinci had practiced drawing portraits of humans with animals in his journals many times in order to perfect his portraits.
