My schoolmates` reading interests The aim of this report is to describe my schoolmates" reading interests and to give recommendation to the librarian. The report is based on a survey and its charts. It can be clearly seen that boys and girls have different reading interests and thus librarian has to buy different kinds of books. Firstly, poetry is popular among girls. About 17% of them are interested in it, but only 9% of the boys are interested in it. Moreover, girls are bigger romantic novels" readers than boys. 34% of girls and only 11% of boys like romantic novels. However, boys are very interested in reading thrillers. When 51% of boys like thrillers, then only 21% of the girls like it. Secondly, it is worth mentioning that there are also one similarity in girls and boys reading interests. The rate of students who love historical novels is pretty much the same. 28% of the girls and the 29 % of boys like to read historical novels.
The nation's land pollution problems are aggravated by the 15 million tons of pollutants that are added yearly to the existing 250 million tons of pollutants. In 1994, 24,000 acres of the country's total land area were affected. Radiation levels from the nuclear accident at Chernobyl exceed currently accepted safety levels. To sum up, environmental problems should be handled by local and international authorities also. Every single person should take care of environment and moreover we have to bring up our children to be conscious citizens of a clean and preserved planet.
How terrorism has changed the world? Over the decades millions of people have died innocently and lost their homes and beloved ones. Many countries have been attacked by the terrorists. As a result it all affects world politics and global relationships. It can be said that after the 9/11 disaster in the United States we have extremely strict security control system. The traveling is much more proctected by plane. Moreover there is no hitchhiking anymore due to stricting the security checks. Even though it can't be said to the other types of transportation. Terrorism in the Internet has also decreased, whereas computer specialists develop better hardwares to avoid crimes in electronically. Furthermore people are more aware of the jeopardies in the Internet. Terrorism in religious countries is fairly nonsense. War between the two different beliefs will probably never end
people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. As expected, women occupy most of their time on child care. However it is surprising that they spend nearly one fifth on building. Moreover, people can chat without paying for expensive message service. For instance, messages over the internet are more than ten times cheaper. On the otherhand, social networks are making people lazier. In fact, it is comfortable to sit behind computer and text instead of meeting eachother. I am trying to say that many schools have more urgent problems than low level of computerizing. Only some prestigeous schools can afford themselves to have a PC for every student. On the other hand, living in the 21st century means using computers a lot, so why not let children get used to this? Moreover, a computer can be very convenient and useful for students. Shopping has become a favourite past time among young people I think that the fact is that shopping has become one of the most favourite past times among young people, because nowadays in the cities are shopping centres. Opponents of this view say, that the main reason why it is gone this way is that fashion is getting popular among adolescents. Many people are in favour of clothes and accessories what are followed by the latest trend.
