Monologue

Some people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. Some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. By the law of our country, parents have the right to make important decisions about their children's lives. Parental obligations end when a child reaches the age of majority, which is 18 years old. Until that, parents are free to make all decisions relating to the welfare of their child as they see fit. Because of that law, some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. However, other people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. There are parents who prefer to make all decisions for their kids. Some of them do it because they are afraid to see their child suffering through setbacks, oth...

succeeded in some sort of individual field. Anyway, judging by his expression, I must say that he is very proud of himself. I would guess that the students in p2 are taking a maths exam as I can see calculators on each desk. The fact that they look so serious makes me believe the problems to solve are really challenging.  I personally like picture 1 better as I would like to be as happy as he is. MONOLOGUE Some people say that being away from friends makes your friendship stronger. Why do you think they say that? Do you agree? Give reasons. Introduce your monologue and rephrase the statement. It sometimes happens that good friends move away. It might be because of moving house, changing school or for family reasons. There are people who believe it doesn’t matter as being apart can make the friendship even stronger. Give reasons why people might think so.

Buying on credit is an alternative way

MONOLOGUE Buying on credit is an alternative way INTRODUCTION: Buying on credit is an alternative way, it is said because it is a form of borrowing. MAIN BODY: First of all, credit card offer us a useful form of short term borrowing if you can repay your bill in each month. For example, when you are travelling or just need to unexpectedly make a ig purchase. However, before deciding to borrow money it is important to know if you will be able to repay it back in the future. People must know that free lunches don't exist and anyway they must pay later. PERSONAL OPINION In my opinion credit card is an ,,easy money" and often peole don't know what happens later. We should live according to our abilities and don't buy things when we haven't got enough money. CONCLUSION So, as you can see buying on credit is an alternative method and we should use it only then, when we know if we ...

Computers in every classroom

Computers in every classroom Nowadays computers are becoming more and more unavoidable. We read newspapers from internet, make bank transfers, work and study with them as well. Although computers are making our lifes easier I do not support placing computers to classrooms. Firstly, when students sit in front of the computers from lesson to lesson then their scholastic proficiency will degenerate because they will surf on the internet, chat on MSN and so on. It is doubtless that computers in classroom scatter students attention. Furthermore, computers damage students health. The rays what computer screen vomit are very harmful, so staring at computer screen too much will cause intense damages to people eyes. So from that viewpoint it is absurd to put computers to every classroom. On the other hand, computers in every classroom would make students life easier. They could take notes by computer and a...

QUESTIONS AND ROLE PLAY When you have completed your monologue, you will be asked 4-5 questions related to the topic of your monologue. This is nothing like asking and answering questions: try to behave as if in a real conversation. Respond naturally in 2-3 utterances but you are not expected to be lengthy at this stage. Speak fluently with appropriate pronunciation and intonation and only natural pauses. Express yourself confidently, clearly and politely. If you fail to understand the question, say `Pardon?' with the rising tone and the interviewer will interpret the question to make it clear for you

there are going to be more people next year either to praise or suffer from it. But not the emotions count at the moment, the future does we must all learn from this wonderful book that wit is not easily gained, however once it's collected, it'll be never lost again. The first chapter includes three specially chosen units. Unit one includes reading about the UK, learning how to form questions, listening, some vocabulary exercises, monologue and, of course, an `extra word exercise' about Ireland. The sweetest part will be probably the last one since I used to like the game odd-man-out in middle school. We often played it, as well as Bingo and Puzzle, but finding a word lost in a bizarre of difficultly read context was still my favourite! I have high expectations for it. Unit two is somewhat odd-man-out. It has economy vocabulary and two huge countries: the US and Canada

,,From whom the bell tolls" Hemingway. Spanish civil war. Franco vs the Republicans. Three days are described. Protagonist is Robert Jordan. American, but teaches Spanish, joins the Spanish guerillas-the spanish partisans, in the fight against the facist. He is wounded and left to die. We get this sense of betrayal-most powerful emotions. The bell tolls for everybody, the bell is symbolically the funeral bell, it conserns everybody. The message of the novel is presented through inner monologue. When jordan joins the war agains facist, he wants to fight all tyrannia and improve social conditions, he has all the typical features of Hemingway heroe, tough, competent, brave. Seems to be against all forms of governments, comes to conclusion that the republicans way is the best. He finds communism helpful. The question is wheter bloodshed is justified and humane. Unlike earlier hemingway heroes Jordan is an intellectual

In scientific prose the division into paragraphs is conditioned by the logical treatment of the problems. New paragraph developing new ideas. In fiction, this principle hardly works. If the writer presents a long description as one paragraph, it means that he attaches equal importance to every sentence. If separate sentence is patterned

James's works, many of which were first serialised in the magazine The Atlantic Monthly include narrative romances with highly developed characters set amongst illuminating social commentary on politics, class, and status, as well as explorations of the themes of personal freedom, feminism, and morality. In his short stories and novels he employs techniques of interior monologue and point of view to expand the readers' enjoyment of character perception and insight. Often comparing the Old World with the New, and influenced by Honore de Balzac, Henrik Ibsen, Charles Dickens, and Nathaniel Hawthorne of whose work he wrote "too original and exquisite to pass away" James would become widely respected in North America and Europe, earning honorary degrees from Harvard and Oxford Universities, in 1911 and 1912 respectively

courses. Process is important for learning. Courses taught as lecture courses tend to induce passivity. Indoor classes create the illusion that learning only occurs inside four walls isolated from what students call without apparent irony the "real world." Dissecting frogs in biology classes teaches lessons about nature that no one would verbally profess. Campus architecture is crystallized pedagogy that often reinforces passivity, monologue, domination, and artificiality. My point is simply that students are being taught in various and subtle ways beyond the content of courses. AN ASSIGNMENT FOR THE CAMPUS If education is to be measured against the standard of sustainability, what can be done? I would like to make four propsals. First, I would like to propose that you engage in a campus-wide dialogue about the way you conduct your business as educators. Does four years here make your graduates better

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

Kapp likes to explore themes expansively; their variants may deviate from the original: Example 20. The closing theme (Corno solo) is consoling, drawing a deep breath, a mild and somewhat melancholic companion to its forerunners. In the developmental process the subsidiary theme has been fully transformed into a grave, massive and forceful brass sound. The main theme appears tumultuously. The second monothematic movement is a quiet, wistful unison-monologue for bassoon and violoncellos. The composer’s free meditation, sounds like a compound of different interwoven, increasingly strenuous, motifs. The former loneliness and sadness has been replaced by inner tranquillity: Example 21. The Finale is based on a theme, an ancient melancholic Estonian tune, with variations: Example 22. The composer is attempting to rid himself of bleak thoughts. The sixth variation

She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she was totally unaware, in seemed, of other people or her surroundings. Her head was facing downward and slightly to the left, as if she were addressing someone sitting in the empty seat next to her. Although I don’t remember the precise content, her monologue went something like this: “And then she said to me… so I said to her you are a liar how dare you accuse me of… when you are the one who has always taken advantage of me I trusted you and you betrayed my trust…” There was the angry tone in her voice of someone who has been wronged, who needs to defend her position lest she become annihilated. As the train approached Tottenham Court Road Station, she stood up and walked toward the door with still no break in the stream of words

"God,Thailand. what a beautiful beach. Calm. Translucent turquoise water. I should really go back to I wonder what time it is in Thailand. But ... why is there a mangy German shepherd on my beach? Orange collar. That makes no sense. Kind of looks like John's dog. Actually, I owe John a call. F*ck. Did I put his birthday party in the calendar? Birthdays and clowns. Clowns?! Why the hell am I thinking about clowns?!?" And so my internal monologue continues until 3:00, 4:00, or even 6:00 A.M., rotating through images, ideas, commitments, anxieties, and fantasies. This mental slide show is combined with perverse sleep yoga: sometimes the twisted- into-a- pretzel posture, sometimes lying on my back like Dracula in mock-paralysis, and always ending in the fetal position with a pillow or arm between my knees. Fetal position never works, but I continue to try it, like a full-bladdered dog scratching at a door that never opens.
