Should the monarchy be abolished

Since 1800, most of the world's monarchies have been abolished, and most of the nations that retain monarchs are constitutional monarchies. The most recent nation to abolish its monarchy was Nepal, which became a republic in this year, on May 28. Currently 44 nations in the world have monarchs as heads of state, 16 of which are Commonwealth realms that recognize Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom as head of state. After commonwealth realm there are some more types of monarchy: constitutional, semi- constitutional, absolute and subnational monarchies. Many nations formerly with absolute monarchies, such as Morocco, have moved towards constitutional monarchies, although the monarch retains tremendous power. Among the few states that give the monarch claimed full power (both head of state and government) are Brunei, and Saudi Arabia. Should we support other countries to abolishing the monarchy? This is not a yes or no question.

Argumentative Essay

Argumentative essay Should monarchy be abolished in Britain?! The monarch's power over the nation has fallen so drastically that nowadays Britain's political system is described as constitutional monarchy. In fact the power is reduced so much that it is argued weather monarchy is needed at all. Firstly, kings and queens have been a part of Britain for centuries so the idea that royal families should no longer exist just does not seem right. I strongly believe that abolishing monarchy will cause more problems than it solves. The biggest impact will be the major fall in truism. Nearly everyone I know who have been to England have gone there to visit some part of the monarchy related attractions. Secondly, to my mind, monarchy is a symbol of military and political power. To this very day there are countries whose flags are market with Great Britain's flag. The most notorious of those is of course Australia.

House of Winsdor

Most fans know all the royal names and faces, the line of succession to the throne, and even the family's rarely- used last name. But let's start from the beginning. The House of Windsor is the reigning royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. The dynasty is of German paternal descent and was originally a branch of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, itself derived from the House of Wettin, which succeeded the House of Hanover to the British monarchy following the death of Queen Victoria, wife of Albert, Prince Consort. The name was changed from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor (from "Windsor Castle"[1]) in 1917 because of anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I.[2] There have been four British monarchs of the house of Windsor to date: three kings and the present queen, Elizabeth II. During the reign of the Windsors, major changes took place in British society. The British Empire participated

English Parliament

I think that this is the most interesting history I had to study. During this subject (British civilization), I discovered some exciting facts, occasions which took place in the British history. One of these "discoveries" was the English Parliament. I was amazed how fast it grew within the centuries, from eleventh to seventeenth centuries. The political history of British Isles over the past 800 years has been largely one of reducing the power of the monarchy and transferring authority to a London-based Parliament as the sovereign legislative body for all of Britain. This development has resulted in political, social and religious conflicts, as well as evolving governmental and constitutional institutions. The early political history of the British Isles is the story of four independent countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland), but a dominant English political and military expansionism over the century.

Comparison of Estonian and British State system

Comparison of Estonian and British State system Iam here to talk about Estonian and British state system, which have some similarities and differences. First of all the regime: Estonia is a democratic republic when the United Kingdom is constitutional monarchy. The head of state in Estonia is president who currently is Toomas-Hendrik Ilves and the head of state in United Kingdom is queen Elizabeth the second. Estonian president has a serving time of 5 years then in United Kingdom monarch rules the country till he or she dies, of course there are special occasions for that too. Second of all I want to talk about parliaments: Estonian parliament is unicameral and has 101 members and is elected for four years, when the British parliament is bicameral and has 1455 members currently and is elected for five years. Bicameral parliament means that there are two separate assemblies. There are quite a few minor difference...

The national flag of the United States of America consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the upper-left corner bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars. The fifty stars represent the 50 states and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen colonies that rebelled against the British monarchy and became the first states in the Union. The flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is sometimes called the Union Jack because it symbolises the administrative union of the countries of the United Kingdom. This red, white, and blue flag was first used in 1801.
