Tess - Guilty or not ?
Tess Guilty or not?
I read Thomas Hardy's book called Tess of the D'Urbevilles. The book is about
young woman's misfortunes. Those misfortunes lead to many desperate actions
but Tess is not quilty of them.
The first misadventure which leads to others is when Tess has to go to the
market. Tess accidentally kills the horse. She feels guilt but in my opinion it was
not her fault because after all it was her father's task not Tess'. Her father could
not go because he was too drunk. However, Tess feels like she is responsible and
that she has to do something good for her family.
In order to compensate her mistake she goes to work for a rich relative in a bird
farm
