interactions in creating a climate for innovation, international technology flows and collaborations are taking on growing significance. Future research will focus on improving the indicators used to map interactions in national innovation systems as well as the linkages to the innovative performance of firms and countries. These indicators are at an early stage of development and do not approach the robustness of more conventional measures such as R&D expenditures. A main goal is to improve the comparability of studies across countries by encouraging those engaging in analysis of innovation systems to focus first on measuring a core set of knowledge flows using similar indicators. At the same time, specific analyses will be directed to deepening the understanding of certain types of flows in national innovation, namely: human resource flows;2) institutional linkages; 3) industrial clusters; and 4) innovative firm behaviour.

This suggests that in the future, aswell is in the present, the cyberattacks not only will be virtual threats, but will directly turn into a physical threat to the human life. Reasons behind security related shortages This raises the question of how come the internet of things is left quite unsecure and open for manipulation which can cause not only virtual threats but also real, physical damage which could be deadly at the worst case scenario? The largest inhibitor to proper security measures comes from the fact that the IoT devices are not as capable as for instance , computers, due to the lack of processing power, which leaves less opportunities to properly secure them. Moreover there is most likely a issue of consumer knowledge as well, which makes the companies produce a cheaper, less secured device then a more costly, better secured device, because the consumer prefers the cheaper version. As the IoT is a

Some scientists predict that we will reach ten billion people count by the year 2050, but who knows, maybe by then we have used up all the irrecoverable resources and have to move half the population to the moon and Mars to start contaminating them also. Countries like China have taken measures to stop the population. A chinese family can only have one child and if they go above the limit they have to pay a fine even though richer families don't care much for that. So even though there's a very big fine about 90´000 families have gone over the limit and are under investigation. If we would all think globally instead of just ourselves or our country, we could keep the population growth under control. Countries who only think of rising their

2) Environmental Performance Indicators The environmental dimension of sustainability concerns an organisation’s impacts on living and non-living natural systems, including ecosystems, land, air and water. The environmental dimension of sustainability has achieved the highest level of consensus among the three dimensions of sustainability reporting. It is particularly important to provide environmental performance information in terms of both absolute figures and normalized measures. Both measures reflect important, but distinct, aspects of sustainability. Absolute figures provide a sense of scale or magnitude of the use or impact, which allows the user to consider performance in the context of larger systems. In reporting on environmental indicators, reporting organisations are also encouraged to keep in mind the principle of sustainability context. With respect to the environmental measures in

Cheetah The cheetah is most famous for its speed. It is the world's fastest land animal, having been known to run at speeds up to 70 mph. However, it is able to sustain this pace for only a short period of time. In order to be able to move this quickly, the cheetah has a slender body, a small head, and long legs that allow it to travel about 24 feet in a single stride when running. It weighs between 90 and 140 pounds, stands at about 36 inches tall, and measures 72 inches in length. Not only is the cheetah's physical shape designed for speed, but it has other special features as well. For instance, the spine of the cheetah is flexible enough to act as a spring when the cheetah runs. It also is the only cat without retractable claws. This allows the claws to always be exposed, acting like cleats when the cheetah is running. The tail is also designed to help maintain balance at high speeds and during quick turns. Other features of the

The pamphlet reveals a vast number of social and religious problems: one of the major at those days was beggary. The satire was written in 1729, at the time, when economic situation of the country was extremely prejudiced by another crop failure. Thousands of poverty-stricken Irish were dying of starvation, causing the country's population to fall. However, despite the famine and constantly increasing number of deaths, the government did not implement measures to improve the existing situation. Thence, Swift, being an Irishman by birth and feeling disappointed of the ruling classes, proposes a solution to the problem by publishing his shocking work, the bitterest satire A Modest proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public (1729). In A Modest Proposal Swift finds out a solution to stop the famine. The author

There have been countless studies, but none of them are proven, the death penalty would actually be an effective scary effect. In fact, quite the contrary is suggestive evidence: getting evens measures may have a negative impact on violent society, morality and the death penalty may increase aggression and even brutal and change society. Another against says that if the offender is killed, he can not no longer the second time the crime was committed (the so-called perpetual incapacitation). This is true while others penal fettles, isolating the offender of a society is the death penalty in front of at least one advantage.

These lacrosse games lasted from sunup to sundown for two to three days straight. These games were played as part of ceremonial ritual to give thanks to the master. Field lacrosse There are ten players on each team: three attack, three midfielders, three defenders and a goalie. Each player carries a lacrosse stick. A recovery of exports, domestic trade, and household consumption stimulated economic growth in 2010. The recession left a deep mark on general government finances and the debt ratio, turning previously strong budget surpluses into deficits. In addition to marginal growth prospects, general government finances will remain in deficit during the next few years. The great challenge of economic policy will be to mitigate a possible recession in 2012 in which measures supporting growth will be combined with general government adjustment measures. overwhelmingly prevalent in the Western society.54 It can be argued that there is considerable confusion and national anxiety `about what role young people below the age of majority should play in community and political life`. 55 On the one hand, the gradual recognition of children as social actors both at local and national levels has encouraged the policy makers and the media to some extent to take more effective measures in providing the voices and representation of the most marginalized minority in society. For example, the children`s television news bulletin and website of BBC Newsround which is the only news programme for children in the UK, recognises children as active and valuable citizens. Its reporters are producing news stories that aim to `equip children to handle their lives better by giving them the information they need about the world around them
3 billion projected increase will be in the less developed regions, with nearly half (49%) in Africa." Already strained with relentless population explosion, many developing countries, such as in Sub Saharan Africa and Southern Asia, will experience a degradation of their quality and length of life as they face increasing difficulties to supply water, food, energy and housing to their growing populations, which will have major repercussions for public health, security measures and economic growth. Increased Global Warming and Climate Change • According to the Center for Biological Diversity, "The largest single threat to the ecology and biodiversity of the planet in the decades to come will be global climate disruption due to the buildup of human-generated greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. • People around the world are beginning to address the problem by reducing their carbon footprint through less consumption and better technology.

This large, solitary cat has the greatest range of any wild land mammal in the Western Hemisphere, extending from Yukon in Canada to the southern Andes of South America. An adaptable species, the cougar is found in every major North American habitat. The Mountain lions of Yellowstone region were significantly reduced by predator control measures during the early 1900s. It is reported that 121 lions were removed from the park between the years 1904 and 1925. Then, the remaining population was estimated to be 12 individuals. Mountain lions apparently existed at very low numbers between 1925 and 1940. They maintain a secretive profile in the Yellowstone region. Although the cougar population numbered in the hundreds during the early 1900s, controlled hunts between 1904 and 1925 decimated the population
Randomiseeritud grupid e. sõltumatute gruppide k-plaan (independent-subject design or between-groups design) Põhiprobleem: randomiseerimisprotseduuri valik (124-125) Mudel 2: Tasakaalustatud grupid (matched –subject design) Põhiprobleem: mis tingimuste osas grupid võrdsustada? kuidas grupid võrdsustada? (mathed pairs, ad lib matching, random blocks) Pikaajalises uuringus: katsealuste väljalangemise probleem (128-129) - kuidas seda vältida?? Mudel 3: Sõltuvad grupid (repeated measures or within-subject design) Põhiprobleem: kas on võimalik ülekandeefekt? st kas on õigustatud selle plaani kasutamine? Mudel 4: Tasakaalustatud sõltuvad grupid (repeated measures sequence counterbalanced) Probleem: õige tasakaalustatus, vältimaks süstemaatilist ülekandeefekti (järjekorra efekt võib vahle olla ka iseseisev uurimisprobleem!) Mudel 5: Faktoriseeritud eksperiment (factorial experiment) Põhiprobleem: optimaalne faktorite arv ja valik
Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II but suffered through a devastating civil war (1936-39). A peaceful transition to democracy following the death of dictator Francisco FRANCO in 1975, and rapid economic modernization (Spain joined the EU in 1986) gave Spain a dynamic and rapidly growing economy and made it a global champion of freedom and human rights. The government's major focus for the immediate future will be on measures to reverse the severe economic recession that started in mid-2008. foundation problems. Engineers have to make sure that the soil under a building setlles evenly. For example, uneven settlements caused the leaning of the Tower of Pisa, which started when the tower was being built. The constructors thought that they had straightened the tower up by building its upper part vertically, in other words with vertical support, but the 60m tower is still going over at the rate of about 2.5 cm every eight years. And its top is now out of plumb by 5 metres. Various measures are being studied to arrest this dangerous rotation, but the Pisans are resolved to stabilize the tower in a leaning position, since no tourist would travel far to look at a straightened-up tower. Finally, there are wind loads. The forces, exerted by winds, on buildings have dramatically grown in importance with the increase in building heights. Wind velocity grows with height, and wind pressures increase as the square of the wind speed. Also wind causes some building oscillation
habitats and inhabitants. Firstly, rising sea levels will have a serious impact on beaches— a place which humans love to visit recreationally and a prime location for real estate. It is ideal to live on the coast, due to a more moderate climate and pleasant scenery, but beachfront property is at risk from eroding land and rising sea levels. Since the threat posed by rising sea levels has become more prominent, property owners and local government have taken measures to prepare for the worst. Additionally, many coastal states add sand to their beaches to offset shore erosion, and many property owners have elevated their structures in low-lying areas. As a result of the erosion and ruin of properties by large storms on coastal lands, governments have looked into buying land and having residents relocate further inland. turbidity. The zooplankton of the lake consists of smaller animals building up the summer biomass. The amount of bottom animals is low but variable in different years. pic: plaktonic algae About 35 fish species are in Lake Võrtsjärv. Pike-perch, eel, bream and pike are the most important commercial fishes. In the fifties and sixties Võrtsjärv was known as a ruff lake since inferior fish prevailed in catches. After the application of measures proposed by scientists of the Limnological Station ,big and valuable fish species became dominating. The natural eel have been caught in some years. The total yearly fish catch averages over 400 tons in Lake Võrtsjärv, with the share of valuable fish 60-70%. Pic: eels The coastal area of Lake Võrtsjärv is covered with woods, fields, hayfields, wil
The United States grew to be one of the great powers of the world. The nation fought in the First World War. After the war women got the right to vote for the first time. In 1929 the Great Depression began with the stock market crash. Banks, factories and farms shut down and many Americans were unemployed. Franklin D. Roosevelt, who won the presidential election in 1932, promised a New Deal. Over the next two years, millions of unemployed were given jobs and numerous measures were also taken to help the farmers. In 1941 the United States entered the Second World War when Japan attacked the Hawaiian Islands. The war ended in 1945 when the USA dropped the atomic bombs on two Japanese cities and made Japan to surrender. Today about 30 million of 260 million Americans are black. When they were freed after the Civil War, the Southerners were angry at them and showed a lot of prejudice. Until in 1870 the blacks didn't have civil rights or the right to vote
