Sin City - review

Bastard". Sin City had a very good actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, Brittany Murphy, Benicio Del Toro, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood, Michael Clarke Duncan. All the film is in black and white with a few colored details. It makes perfect environment and makes you feel like in a comic books. Sin City is shared into four parts and all those parts are wrapped together like one masterpiece. All the film is about are corruption and different characters who manage themselves through the grimy and violent city. Frank Miller had bring some remarkable characters into his comic novel like Marv, who is huge hulking thug and almost impossible to kill. I was very impressed by that film. It gave me a whole new movie experience. Every scene looked like a masterpiece. Actually every frame was like a perfect photo of a city full of violence and passion. Sin City is a "must see" movie

Saint John church Jaani Kirik

Saint John´s church is about 140 years old. On the 1st of January it had its last praying and then the key of the church was handed over to the renovators. Residents of the Saint John´s church moved into the church of Niguliste. When the church was handed over, the people had a very grand goodbye(farewell) to the church even though it was only left temporarily. The first organ was built in 1869 by Gustav Normann. 1905 church started collecting money to get a better organ. In 1913 a real masterpiece of modern organ making was made. On the 16th April Saint John´s church got a new organ that was shipped from Germany. It was 6 metres high and 3 metres wide. Right now there should be approximately 4 organs in the church. People are worrying right now about the cracks in the floor of the just renovated church. The cracks were made from the constructions on the freedom square. If the cracks turn any bigger, then the tower of the church may fall bringing at least half of the church down with it

His first full length talkie "The Great Dictator" was an anti-fascist masterpiece ridiculing Hitler. After WW II he spoke out against the McCarthy witch-hunts against communists. regular exercise, rejuvenating leisure, fulfilling relationships, family, and a close-knit community. None of these things are not essential, but life without these is not that fun. A good society would enable for most people to have most of these luxuries and would allow everyone to have just like the least of these items (even like 1-3 would be enough). Most of the time desirable things are not indispensable, but most of the people who will read my masterpiece could not live without these things. E.F. Schumacher once said: “I’m not at all contemptuous of comforts, but they have their place and it is not first.” and I could not agree more with that saying. If only more people would have this kind of approach to their lifestyle, it would be easier to for us all to live. Good society is not a paradise, but it is enough for us to get awesome life. Kafka's Hunger Artist

Kafka's Hunger Artist Kafka, in his masterpiece "The Hunger Artist," suggests that humans can never satisfy their desires. This is illustrated through the metaphorical hunger artist for whom nourishment is not being nourished at all. The viewing public's interest is derived from their desire to see the hunger artist cheating, but to view this would put an end to that desire. Finally, Kafka presents this idea while the artist is at the circus and describing when people wish to view the starved man. The hunger artist's nourishment is spiritual. The man only wishes to be honored by the public. As he continuously spirals downward in his health, he looses all forms of material nourishment. As the days go on, there is conflict between the artist and the audience, as they do not believe him honest in claiming not to have eaten. By searching for the audience's approval, a symbol for spiritual nourishment, he loses both material and spirit...

Apperances are deceitful!

People's eyes are attracted to beauty and it's quite natural. We look at flowers, landscapes, pieces of art, and so on. We understand why it is beautiful. People also think of a man's/woman's appearance as of a masterpiece of nature and enjoy it as much as a landscape in the Alps. But is the essence of this beauty the same? Landscapes are parts of nature, pieces of art are created by gifted people; these objects are not alive, don't possess an intellect, so it is much easier to define the essence of it's meaning and purpose. Humans have divine gift of speech, abstract thinking and freedom of action. We can't but agree that it's very difficult to define, what is hiding behind good looks. Our mind is used to

Even if the movie were not based on a real story and would have been made up, it would be a masterpiece in any case. Of course the topic is common which makes the movie more interesting and exciting for us. The director David Fincher has done a great job by not trying to force some characters to the audience. He wants us to draw a conclusion and pick a side, not the film. Which is a clever thought forming many discussions on the movie. Stephen's Chapel. Ever since these early times, the Palace of Westminster has been home to the English Parliament. In 1834 there was a huge fire that destroyed much of the old palace. All that remained was the chapel crypt, The Jewel Tower and Westminster Hall. It was Lord Melbourne, the Prime Minister, who saved the great hall by arranging for the fire engines to be brought right into the hall and personally supervising the fire fighting operation. The magnificent Gothic Revival masterpiece you see today was built between 1840 and 1888, this was the work of Charles Barry who designed the buildings to blend with nearby Westminster Abbey. The two imposing towers, well known landmarks in London, are the clock tower, named after it's bell called Big Ben, and Victoria tower, on whose flag pole the Union Jack flies when parliament is sitting. In 1780 David returned to Paris and a few years later he exhibited his masterpiece Oath of the Horatii in the Salon. The Salon was a place where all the great men in Paris, who later on were participants of the Revolution, would gather, discuss relevant topics and enjoy culture. The message behind the Horatii impressed many important figures of that time, including Thomas Jefferson, who appreciated the message of patriotism and individual sacrifice on the painting. (Roberts, 1989, p.4, 5) In the Oath of Horatii David used

The Most Important Buildings in Lai Street in Tallinn

The spire of the St Olaf`s Church has been opened to the public. The view of the Tallin Old Town and its vicinity is magnificent. Lore has it that citizens of Tallinn pursued two objectives at once when building the tower. Concerned about their sailors and guests of the city, they wished to erect a lighthouse that could be seen even from the shores of Finland. On the other hand, the magistrate and the citizens wanted to use the excesses of their funds to create such an architectural masterpiece for their hometown, the likes of which could not hav been found in any other European city. Tallinn's architects of the old days probably aimed to reach the Heavenly Father or to defy the skies at least. 14 Summary The aim of the report was to find additional material about the houses on Lai Street that would be helpful for the students of Tallinna Mustamäe College while doing their guide practice exam in form eleven

McCartney and Starr remain active; Lennon was shot and killed in 1980, and Harrison died of cancer in 2001. During their studio years, The Beatles produced what critics consider some of their finest material, including the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), widely regarded as a masterpiece. Four decades after their breakup, The Beatles' music continues to be popular. The Beatles have had more number one albums on the UK charts, and held down the top spot longer, than any other musical act. According to RIAA certifications, they have sold more albums in the US than any other artist. In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of the all-time top-selling Hot 100 artists to celebrate the US singles chart's fiftieth anniversary, with The Beatles at number one

A commission for a statue from the Medicis was not only a great honor; it was also a task that could not be re- fused. For two years, Michelangelo searched for a block of stone out of which he could create the kind of masterpiece the Medicis were looking for. Finally, on a side street of Florence, partially overgrown with weeds and covered with dirt, he found a huge slab of marble lying on wooden trestles. It had been hauled down from the mountains years before and had never been used. Michelangelo had walked past this street many times, but this time he stopped and looked more closely. As he walked back and

He is best remembered as a novelist who wrote numerous seastories and the historical novels known as the Leatherstocking Tales. Among naval historians his works on early U.S. naval history have been widely received but were sometimes criticized by Cooper's contemporaries. Among his most famous works is the Romantic novel The Last of the Mohicans, often regarded as his masterpiece. Cooper's portrayal of Native Americans and the white settlers in The Leatherstocking Tales shows us a prime example of how acculturation operates in various types, steps, and on various levels. It is so comprehensive and credible that many see it as what had charmed the reading public at home and abroad and "determined how the world was to regard the American Indian" for a long time. By the time Cooper started writing

Finally Manly took it up. This quiet scholar, who never married and whose quiet, simple manner contrasted so sharply with his chief's, was to become one of the world's leading authorities on Chaucer. He and his collaborator, Edith Rickert, labored for 14 years to produce their monumental eight-volume work, The Text of the Canterbury Tales, in which, by a tedious collation of scribal errors and variant readings in more than 80 manuscripts of the medieval masterpiece, they reconstructed a text that is as close to the poet's own original as the extant evidence allows. The cast of mind that can thus sort out, retain, and then organize innumerable details into a cohesive whole was just what was needed for the Gothic complexity of the 424-letter Witzke cryptogram. In a three-day marathon of cryptanalysis, Manly, aided by Miss Rickert, perceived the pattern of this 12-step official transposition cipher, with its multiple horizontal shiftings
