Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died in Vienna in 1791. In his last few years he composed most
of his best-known shymphonies and operas. The causes of his early death have caused a lot
myths.
Mozart's works are voluminous. He has created over
600 cataloged piece of music. He has written many
operas, the best known of these are "The Marriage of
Figaro" and "The Magic Flute". He wrote religious
music, too: a number of motets, vespers, litanies and 19
Mass, including the last and unfinished because of his
death "Requiem". Unfinished "Requiem" was finished
by Mozart's student and good friend Franz Xavier
Süssmayr. He has written 41 symphonies, the best
known of these is the E flat major, G minor and C
major. He has also written a violin, wind instruments
and piano concerts. The most important of chamber
music is string quartets and quintets and piano sonatas
and piano fantasies.
Peter Shaffer wrote a play called "Amadeus" about
