Primordial dwarfism
A rare form of dwarfism that results in a smaller body
size in all stages of life beginning from before birth.
Potential causes
Many forms of dwarfism are usually the result
of a spontaneous mutation in a single gene
from averagesized parents.
By genes inherited from one or both parents.
Diagnosis
Through prenatal testing.
Most cases are not identified until after the child is
born.
Treatment
Hormonal therapy.
Limblengthening surgery.
Most forms of dwarfism cannot be treated or cured.
Prevention
Prompt treatment of any childhood illnesses
and proper nutrition.
During pregnancy avoiding cigarettes and
alcohol.
Some causes of dwarfism are genetic. There
are no ways to prevent them.
