Agatha Cristie - The Clocks
found the body lying on the ground after she went in.
The investigation begins when two police inspectors Colin Lamb and Dick Hardcastle start
to question people who lived nearby. Since the police dont get very far, Hercule Poirot is hired
to solve the case. Particular intrest in this story will be on Josiah Bland and Valerie Bland,
because it is found that Josiah had another wife long time ago, who is now dead. The family
come into a lot of money, but they cant collect it because Josiahs ex-wife is already deceased.
They attempt a fraud - Valerie will be acting as Josiahs ex-wife. All goes well, but then a man
shows up in the town - the man who knows Josiahs ex-wife's mother. Thats why the man was
found dead in Miss Pebmarsh's hotel room - she was the mother of Josiahs first wife. The
Bland's decided to kill the unknown man or he might ruin their scam. Josiah and Valerie Bland
are put to jail.
To sum it up, it is a well written story. It's a good book for ages 16 and up
