The letter to Australia

The letter to Australia

I have never been in Australia, so I want to ask some question from you. I hope you don't mind and you will have a time to respond to the letter. I have heard that there is a weird and wonderful musical instrument called a didgeridoo. Did you saw it? How it looks? And how they play it? I'll like if you will talk to me about it. It seems a very interesting instrument. Australins have a strong sense of humour and I have read that they will tell anti-English jokes to the English, anti-lawyer jokes to the lawyers and anti- mother-in-law jokes to mothers-in-law. Is is true? Did Australians laugh about you? They are very easy-going by nature. They put a high value on their leisure time. I hope that when I go to Australia, I will see kangaroos and koalas. I have seen they only in Zoo, not in nature. Did you see any animals in nature? Do you know that the cutest animal spends 80% of its time asleep in eucalyptus tree? I didn't know it before.

Letter of complaint 30/03/2009 Dear Mr Friedberg, I am writing to complain about the last three movies you made: "Disaster Movie", "Meet the Spartans" and "Disaster Movie". I recently saw all of them but unfortunately they are really bad. In the first place you promise that your movies are very funny, but they don´t. The jokes are just lame. Only 5th graders would laugh when they hear the jokes. I know that these movies are meant to be parodys but you should show more respect to the original movies. In addition to that the acting is very poor. You should have hired some well know actors. Maybe they would have saved the movies. Also the movies had lots of mistakes in them. For example the positions of furniture changed in several frames. The mistakes could

England and the United States in the 20 th century but it describe action in 1920s and 1930s when the Second-World-War was taken place. ,,Jeeves and Wooster" have 23 episodes. The first season are directed by Robert Young, the second by Simon Langton and the two last series are directed by Ferdinand Fairfax. The theme song is an original piece of music in the jazz/swing style written by composer Anne Dudley. Like I was saying the action discribe 1920's and 1930's and that's the reason why the jokes are more controlled than today. You can see and feel the 30's environment and how peoples are polite and wear smart clothes. Bertie Wooster is young jovial but empty-headed gentleman. He always fall into troble, but his improbably well-informed and talented valet Jeeves help him out. More closely I am going to talk about series 4, episode 1, because this is the only episode what I had seen, but I think it's enough to have my view about that comedy cycle

Estonians: What we’re really like

We love sports and working out is a part of our lives, that's why you don't see almost any overweight people in the streets. We are reputed to be quite stubborn, I don't think that's true about our stereotype. I do think that we're too reserved. We're too tense all the time and don't really go with it when somebody is trying to make us laugh. It takes a little time until we warm up and start to communicate. Somehow we tend to make jokes on ourselves. Then you may realize, that you can really have fun with us.

the United States in 1913 Chaplin was discovered by the film producer Mack Sennett. Over the next couple of years Chaplin made a series of short slapstick films for Sennett's Keystone Company. In these films Chaplin developed a character that wore baggy pants, tight frock coat, large shoes on the wrong feet and a black derby hat. By his thirteenth film, Caught in the Rain (1914), Chaplin began to direct his own films. Chaplin now slowed the pace of his films, reduced the number of visual jokes but increased the time spent on each one. Chaplin placed the emphasis on the character rather than slapstick events. The themes of his films became more serious and reflected his childhood experiences of poverty, hunger and loneliness. Chaplin's work revolutionized film comedy and turned it into an art form. Chaplin's films were highly successful and became a household name throughout the world. Charles Chaplin died in Switzerland on 25th December, 1977.

In summer he had a haircut called ,,cornrow", but now his hair is taid back in a ponytail. He is attractive and good looking person. Every time I see him, he smiles. He tends to be very positive and cheerful. He is active and has no difficulty making new friends. I also find him to be courteous and kindhearted. If his friends are in a trouble, Robin always tries to help them. Robin can be very humorous. Sometimes it is very funny to listen to his jokes during the break. He also has an artistic side. For example, some time ago, when we were practising our play ,,Highschool Musical", Robin played different roles. For all these reasons, I really like him. I wish I could see more of him, as we see each other mostly at school. However, we chat a lot at school and sometimes we are messaging. What I like most about him is that Robin is very humorous. I´m really glad that Robin is a good friend of mine.

they are with two men called Ernest , but in the end they settled it . Gwendolyn's mother Lady Bracknell , who refuses to support their marriage also winds down. The actors who played in this play aren't famous, but I think they should be . I didn't find the content of the play itself really interesting, but the actors made it enjoyable. For me the content was a little bit too childish, unrealistic which is one thing I hate by plays, films and books , but still it made me laugh , the jokes where really felicitous . In conclusion I think this play is suitable for people of all ages , there is something for old folks and a little bit more for younger audience . Of course it can be really interesting for those who love fairytales .

Essay: online news and newspapers

information is available on the next day morning. I can say that, not like others, I prefer old-fashioned newspapers, because of the feeling what reading them offers. For example: fresh newspaper, which smells good on the table, morning coffee, turning pages and reading pleasure. Newspaper is exclusive. Only chosen ones can in the newspapers, space is limited and stupid comments below the articles are missing. Instead of these are readers letters, jokes and some famous person´s opinion. There are no advertisements and you don´t have to click anywhere. People are talking a lot about diying newspapers. In 2009 Vockees Media Research made a research, where 293 USA newspapers died because of financial crisis. 230 of them were weekly newspapers. Advertisement, which feed newspapers, is moving in internet. So what happens next? I guess that after 10 years newspapers are dead because of an internet and there is nothing much to do about it..

The advantages and disadvantages of social networking

The advantages and disadvantages of social networking

Who would not want to get daily updates from their loved ones and see what is new in their life. Thanks to social networking sites, there are no boundaries as to where and when you can message or even videocall someone. However, all the information put on the Internet leaves a trace. It can not be deleted and it can be easily found by anyone who is interested. This can be harmful, as more and more employers are conducting background checks on their future employees. Some foolish jokes and posts about parties may cost people their dreamjobs. What is more, private details put online can lead to identity theft or fraud. Every piece of personal information added to the profiles, are added risks to being the victim of such crimes. Fraudsters can use even a seemingly pointless piece of information to their benefit and for example wipe out your credit card. Fortunately, nowadays social networking sites are constantly improving their security settings and try to avoid such events.

The simple way of starting is greeting with sweet smile. Then you could ask the person you are talking with how is he doing or what brings him here. Add some jokes and follow the flow. If this human is interested in you, he will promote your chat as well. To conclude whole this story, I can say, that everything matters of place, people and situation. Valentine's day

First it was celebrated only in schools and kindergartens. Children sent Valentine's cards to teachers. But it came popular with older people, too. In schools children paste little paper hearts on their cheeks. Children give as a gift each other teddy bears and chocolate boxes. Middle-aged people often gift red roses. In Estonia there's now a new custom: Valentine cards contest. Valentine's Day in Estonia is celebrated to remember good friends. Poems and jokes Be My Valentine A man walks into a post office one day and sees a middle-aged, balding man standing at the counter methodically placing "Love" stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them. He then takes out a perfume bottle and starts spraying scent all over them. His curiosity gets the better of him; he goes up to the balding man and asks him what he is doing. The man says, "I'm sending out 1,000 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'" "But why?" asks the man.

To swear or not to swear ?

howstuffworks.com/swearing1.htm). As can be seen, swearing has many reasons, but the first one is probably the most common. Using a swear word to emphasize something is often necessary as it shows how people really feel about things Secondly, swearing can be also quite beneficial. It can be a a useful substitute to physical violence as swearing often frees people from anger or frustation.Swear words can also be used in a more positive manner, in the form of jokes and humor, storytelling, self-deprecation or even social commentary. If one may want to emphasize how great one feels something is, a swear words emphasizes the positive feelings you have for that object, situation, person or event ("This concert is fucking awesome!"). Sure, one could just say "This concert is awesome," but the addition of the swear word emphasizes the emotional reaction we have toward it -- and easily conveys that emotional reaction to others (psychcentral

Hip-hop

Though rap is usually an integral component of hip hop music, DJs sometimes perform and record alone, and many instrumental acts are also defined as hip hop. Hip hop arose in New York City when DJs began isolating the percussion break from funk, or rock songs for audiences to dance to. The role of the MC was originally to introduce the DJ and the music, and to keep the audience excited. The MC would speak between songs, giving exhortations to dance, greetings to audience members, jokes and anecdotes. Eventually, this practice became more stylized, and came to be known as rapping. By 1979, hip hop had become a commercially recorded music genre, and began to enter the American mainstream. It also began its spread across the world. In the 1990s, a form called gangsta rap became a major part of American music, causing significant controversy over lyrics which were perceived by some as promoting violence, promiscuity, drug use and misogyny

popular all around the world, especially because they are partly true. Stephen Clarke himself still lives in Paris with his French girlfriend. "Merde Actually" has one main character whose name is Paul West, but there are also many other significant characters, that come from the previous book "A Year in the Merde". I can say that it would be better to read the first book of this series first, other wise some jokes and thoughts might stay incomprehensible. This novel starts with a description of how and where Paul West is going with his girlfriend Florence. As known, in France, the summer holidays are quite long for working class; therefore a lot can be done. Anyway, Paul and Florence start their holiday by going to stay in Florence's mother's country cottage, which is in Corrèze, almost exactly in the centre of France. unperfectness seems to annoy her, as well as the fact that there are people around her, that take interest in her, even though she is portrayed in the book as an empty, emotionless doll, with a threetrack mind : ,,Edward",,"Edward's toned chest" ,,Charlie's dinner every once in a while" (thank god for the last one!) Nothing else really seems to interest her. I liked her in the first chapter, especially her witty, sarcastic jokes, remarks and observations, which gave the character a great potential to develop, but eventually it failed miserably. And yet, everyone seems to like Bella, including the ohsodesirable male vampire, who never in his immortal life has loved another human being before. It is somewhat understood, why Bella loves Edward he is hot (even though his hotness is quite useless in their relationship, since it was repeatedly stated, that they could never get intimate) but the way Edward's love

In the modern times St. Valentine's Day is big business. Shortly before February 14th card shops, bookshops and department stores display a wide choice of valentine cards. Men often give flowers or sweets for a valentine gift. Although St. Valentine's Day is celebrated widely in Great Britain today, it seems to be still more popular in America. April's fool day is the first day of April. The sport of the holidays is to play silly but harmless jokes on family members, co-workers, and friends. The victim of these pranks is called an April fool. This holiday originated in France. An April fool's joke can only be played between midnight and noon; otherwise the prankster himself is the April fool. Typical pranks are putting salt in the sugar bowl, saying to friend ,,oh my. You have four big holes in your coat... buttonholes, setting the clocks back an hour and so on. In Great Britain and the United States today, April fool's jokes are

Kat whispers that it would be merciful of them to end his life with a gunshot before the agony of his wound begins to torment him. Before they can end the recruit's life, however, other soldiers begin to emerge from their holes. Summary Paul describes the unsanitary conditions of life at the front. Tjaden, tired of killing lice one by one, scrapes them off his skin into a boot-polish tin. He kills them by heating the tin with a flame. Haie's lice have red crosses on their heads, and he jokes that he got them at a hospital where they attended the surgeon general. Himmelstoss has arrived in the camp, proving the rumor true. He was caught tormenting his recruits excessively and has been sent to the front as punishment. Müller begins asking everyone what they would do if the war ended suddenly. Kropp says the war will not end, but Müller persists. Kat mentions his wife and children. The younger men mention women and getting drunk

He encourages Jake to say only things that are ironic or pitiful. Bill says that Jake doesn't know about how popular irony and pity are because he is an expatriate. He teases that expatriates are drunks who are obsessed with sex and who write nothing worth publishing. Bill says that some people think women support Jake while others think that he is impotent. Jake replies that he is not impotent, that he had an accident. They trade jokes about another man who suffered an accident with similar consequences on horseback, although the story in America is that it was a bicycle accident. Bill declares that he is fonder of Jake than anyone on earth. He states that he could not make this claim in New York because he would sound like a "faggot." He makes an extended joke about how the Civil War was all about homosexuality. "Sex explains it all," he says. Bill and Jake pack a lunch and bottles of wine, and head to the river

Laughter This may surprise you, but as a speaker don't be afraid to laugh, where and when appropriate. Laughter is a wonderful sound. And it's contagious. Have you ever noticed how professsional comedians such as Johnny Carson occasionally join in the laughter following their own jokes? When a speaker laughs at the right moment it can make the audience feel good. Dry mouth syndrome A dry mouth obviously hinders good voice quality and is a direct result of nervousness. Here are three ways to minimize the dry mouth syndrome. First, instead of sipping cold water, which tends to tighten the vocal chords, take a hot drink instead. Warm liquids tend to relax the throat and vocal chords. Second, try to force a yawn. Strange as it seems, yawning tends to stimulate

If you want to show that you're confident in yourself and relaxed lean back a bit. But don't lean in too much or you might seem needy and desperate for some approval. Or lean back too much or you might seem arrogant and distant. 8. Smile and laugh lighten up, don't take yourself too seriously. Relax a bit, smile and laugh when someone says something funny. People will be a lot more inclined to listen to you if you seem to be a positive person. But don't be the first to laugh at your own jokes, it makes you seem nervous and needy. Smile when you are introduced to someone but don't keep a smile plastered on your face, you'll seem insincere. 9. Don't touch your face it might make you seem nervous and can be distracting for the listeners or the people in the conversation 10. Keep you head up. Don't keep your eyes on the ground, it might make you seem insecure and a bit lost. Keep your head up straight and your eyes towards the horizon. 11. Slow down a bit this goes for many things
