Lack of incentive, too much emphasis on heavy industry, poor distribution of resources. How to define J community? Synagogues? Institutions? Most important population. IN SU, by definition of govt. As historians, focus more on collective ID than personal ID, though also significant. There were yeshivas in late SU, though not many. Forests. H clubs. J culture, rel, hist clubs. Neighborhoods. Places of work, even if unconsciously; pushed out of applied sciences. Section 5[?] forced Jews to survive as Jews. Pew Report Less than ½ of US belong to any sort of institution, even regular life cycle stuff. , Js living just fine compared to other ethnic groups. Like others, standing in food lines, integrating, getting into big universities (though not in certain areas). End of SU, hyper-nationalism, first time since Civil War, Panyat (Memory), violent antisemtism in the street. Pensions disappeared in a day. Where no govt, perhaps pogroms

I find it interesting to learn about other cultures and how they live. Estonia is a culturally diverse society. It is home to approximately 1,4 million people and not all of them are Estonians. Beside us consider Estonia as their home: Russians, Ukranians, Belorussian, Jews, Tatars, Germans and Poles - among of many others. They all have chosen to live here and they want to be taken as a part of our nationality. They want to be accepted and esposed. I can't understand people who can't be tolerate. I think it would be absolutely dreadful if all the people were just the same. We wouldn't have anything to learn or we couldn't widen our world-view. We would be monolingual and look all the same. existence is to worship God. He is known as a personal God who responds whenever a person in need or distress calls him. There are no intermediaries, such as clregy, to contact God who states, I am nearer to him than jugular vein." The reciprocal nature is mentioned in the hadith qudsi, ,,I am as My servant thinks I am." Allah is the term with no plural or gender used by Muslims and Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews to reference God, while 'ilah is the term used for a deity or a god in general. Some other non-Arab Muslims might use different names as much as Allah, for instance ,,Tanri" in Turkish, ,,Khoda" in Persian or ,,Khuda" in Urdu. Is it said that belief in angels is fundamental to the faith of Islam. The arabic word for angel, malak, means ,,messenger", like its counterparts in Hebrew(malakh) and Greek(angelos).

2 With the exception of Buddhists, all of the world’s major religious groups are poised for at least some growth in absolute numbers in the coming decades. The global Buddhist population is expected to be fairly stable because of low fertility rates and aging populations in countries such as China, Thailand and Japan. Worldwide, the Hindu population is projected to rise by 34%, from a little over 1 billion to nearly 1.4 billion, roughly keeping pace with overall population growth. Jews, the smallest religious group for which separate projections were made, are expected to grow 16%, from a little less than 14 million in 2010 to 16.1 million worldwide in 2050. Adherents of various folk religions – including African traditional religions, Chinese folk religions, Native American religions and Australian aboriginal religions – are projected to increase by 11%, from 405 million to nearly 450 million.

cause problems with other children and life would be harder and stranger. Nowadays attitude towars black people is changed but there were times when they were hated and treater evilly. This was not just race problem, it was also affected by cultural differences. Now people are more tolerate but still is seen that some people do not treat them as eqaul. There are so many different religions all over the world. Usually those religions do not bother us but for example islam and also jews are not tolerated in some parts of the world. For me it is quite hard to understand because first of all, we, Estonians and me myself also are mostly not deeply religious and I am not sure if I really know what religion means to them. Secondly, I think those people who have sometihng agains those relgions, do not know about them and their nature, what those religons belive in. People should be tolerate because religion is everyone's own choice. One thing that causes issues are abortions

As young Estonians often like to go study or live abroad, the population is aging as well – young people move away, while older stay there. Many different nationalities live there: besides Estonians there are Russians, Ukrainians, Belarussians, Finnish, Tatars, Latvians, Poles, Lithuanians, Jews, Germans and others. Due to this fact, the most popular languages spoken as a mother language are Estonian, Russian and Ukrainian. Nevertheless, there is still just one official language of Estonia, which is Estonian. Most of the people, approximately 900,000 live in the cities, such as Tallinn, Tartu, Narva. The most common sector that people work in is the service sector. People in Estonia are also involved in other sectors of industry, such as wood, construction, electronic and energy.

public opinion. (Habermas, 1991). The readers had no doubt to question the content of newspapers and it quickly became obvious that they were a powerful weapon to shape a public opinion, even when the content was not true. One of the most famous cases of exploiting the media and called to be one the biggest lies in history was during the World War II, when Adolf Hitler controlled all the press and launched massive campaigns to promote anger against the Jews. His theory was that if you tell a lie that`s big enough and repeat it, people will eventually believe it. (McGrath, 2013). Many think this kind of situation could not be possible today as information can flow much freely now. People can instantly communicate around the globe and no nation is so isolated and locked in as the situation was 70 years ago. People had no way to spread the word themselves and information was coming only one-directionally from the controlled press. The

The Jews have used to some extent this “Spider Web Economic” doctrine, but not on the scale of Indians. The Indians are its best ardent practitioners. It is the only and best economic method I have seen which can easily catapult an economy like ours out of its indolent state. I feel totally librated. I feel free. I feel I am in charge. Islam

1 billion and 1.8 billion Muslims, making Islam the secondlargest religion in the world, after Christianity. Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad, God's final prophet, and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (words and deeds of Muhammad) as the fundamental sources of Islam. They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Islamic tradition holds that Jews and Christians distorted the revelations God gave to these prophets by either altering the text, introducing a false interpretation, or both. Islam includes many religious practices. Adherents are generally required to observe the Five Pillars of Islam, which are five duties that unite Muslims into a community. In addition to the Five Pillars, Islamic law (sharia) has developed a tradition of rulings that touch on virtually all aspects of life and society

When Lucifer was cast out of Heaven, one beautiful stone fell from his crown upon earth and from it was made a vessel, which came into the hands of Joseph. He offered it to Jesus who used it in the Last Supper. It was thought to have magical powers. After the cruxification it stayed in the hands of Joseph, Jews cast and water for a year. This time the Roma emperor heard the story of Christ's passion and decided to bring some holy relic to cure his son. Went to dungeon, where Joseph was well and strong. Amazed he set him free. Departed with his sister her husband for a distant land, where the Holy Grail supplied all their needs until one of them committed a sin. Moses (sat on the place of Juda). Luther kirjutas 1542.a kirjastatud traktaadis Concerning the Jews and Their Lies (Juutidest ja nende valedest): "Esiteks: nende sünagoogid tuleb põlema panna ... Teiseks: nende kodud tuleks samuti maha lammutada ja hävitada ... Kolmandaks: neilt tuleks ära võtta nende palveraamatud ja talmudid ... Neljandaks: nende rabidel tuleks keelata õpetamine ähvardades neid vastasel juhul surmaga ... Viiendaks: juutidel tuleks kategooriliselt keelata passi omamine ja privileeg reisida ... London

By the 1840's gas lights were being used to light streets all over London. The World's first Underground railway opened in 1862. At first carriages were pulled by steam trains. The system was electrified in 1890-1905. When Victoria died in 1901, after the longest reign in English history, the British Empire and British world power had reached their highest point The Twentieth Century London grew even more in the Twentieth Century. In the 1930's large numbers of Jews immigrated to London, fleeing persecution in Europe, and most of them settled in the East End. After World War II broke out many children were moved out of London. During World War II, London was bombed by the Luftwaffe. The bombings destroyed much of central London, including a part of St. Paul's Cathedral, although the cathedral suffered only minor damage. The London Docks declined after the war. Between 1972-1982 the Thames Barrier was built to control flooding along the river. This

The steers are often gored in the process. Jake tells Brett not to look, but she watches anyway, fascinated. Afterward, they go to a café and get drunk. Mike makes a few cutting remarks about Cohn following Brett around like a steer, referring to the fact that Cohn went to San Sebastian after Bill and Jake left Pamplona. Mike berates Cohn for not knowing when he isn't wanted. Bill leads Cohn away, and things calm down. Mike remarks that Brett has had affairs before, but not with Jews or with men who kept hanging around. The group shares a supper in which copious amounts of wine mask the shared feeling of apprehension. Summary: Chapter XIV Jake returns to his room that night very drunk. He hears Brett and Mike laughing as they go to bed. Lying in bed, Jake reflects that women make "swell friends" because a man has to be in love with a woman to be friends with her. He feels as if he has been getting something for nothing in his friendship with Brett but that

far out-numbering the southern whites. [3, p.35] The nineteenth century saw a massive increase in American immigration, as people fled the results of revolution, poverty, and famine in Europe. Large numbers of Irish came following the potato famine in Ireland in the 1840s. Germans and Italians came, escaping the consequences of the failed 1848 revolutions. And, as the century wore on, there were increasing numbers of Central European Jews, especially fleeing from the pogroms of the 1880s. In the first two decades of the twentieth century, immigrants were entering the USA at an average of three-quarters of a million a year. In 1900, the population was just over 75 million. This total had doubled by 1950. [3, p.35] Within one or two generations of arrival, most of these immigrant families had come to speak English, through a natural process of assimilation. Cromwell became army commander and lord lieutenant of Ireland. Cromwell then defeated the supporters of the king's son Charles II at Dunbar (1650) and Worcester (1651), effectively ending the civil war. In 1653, frustrated with lack of progress, he dissolved the rump of the Long Parliament and made himself lord protector. In 1657, he refused the offer of the crown. At home Cromwell reorganised the national church, established Puritanism, readmitted Jews into Britain and presided over a certain degree of religious tolerance. Abroad, he ended the war with Portugal (1653) and Holland (1654) and allied with France against Spain, defeating the Spanish at the Battle of the Dunes (1658). Cromwell died on 3 September 1658 in London. The Restoration When Cromwell died, he, his system of government and the puritan ethics that went with it had become so unpopular that the son of he executed king was asked to return and take the throne
