plausible ones seem to be dialect levelling and koineisation in the south-east region. These phenomena are a consequence of long-term accommodation of speakers from various backgrounds. The role of the media in its spread is overestimated, but one thing is certain about them. They have created animage of a monster that endangers the `pure' English language. References: Ryfa, J. better and current drug policy is not showing any positive effect either. The reason why Estonia should consider decriminalizing cannabis is that the history of decriminalizing cannabis has shown us that the use of narcotics has gone down. Great examples for that are the Netherlands and Portugal. Portugal decriminalized all narcotics in 2001 and decided to treat possession and use of small quantities of drugs as a public health issue, not a criminal one (Ingraham, The Washington Post 2015). It has had a major effect on society and Portugal now has the second-lowest drug-induced death rate in EU. The Netherlands has a policy of toleration regarding soft drugs and its mortality rate is well below the EU average rate. Second reason why Estonia should consider decriminalizing cannabis is that there has never occurred death by overdosing cannabis. People do feel sick after abusing marijuana, but the
EUTHANASIA Many hotly debated social questions revolve around choice. Giving people access to assistance in dying is one of them. The issue is too sensitive to come to a smple conclusion. The basic question is : should a person who is terminally ill and who feels that their life is not worth living, who is repeatedly asking for euthanasia and who is of sound mind be given assistance in dying so that they could do it in a dignified manner rather than have their lives prolonged by medical technology? Ultimately, it's a question of choice: empowering people to have control over their own bodies.
How can the issue of intolerance be addressed by the government? Intolerance in society is actually the intolerance of it’s individual members. Intolerance is rooted in fear and ignorance. People are afraid of the unknown, it is natural. But it can only grow, if it gets encouragement, either from parents, who are also ingorant or school, who just do not teach children any better. And fighting intolerance requires Law. Intolerance can be fought with education. Tolerance can be teached at an early age only, later it is difficult change a person’s values. And if intolerance starts with the fear of the unknow, education can help. Government should emphasise education more and more. Children should learn about tolerance and human rights and about other ways of life. School should teach children to always be open-minded. Teaching about tolerance and human rights and that the world is bigger than it seems, has to be taught at an early a...
Are student organizations beneficial for students? This essay will deal with the following aspects of the question „Are student organizations beneficial for students?“. It is noticeable that student organizations are quite popular subject right now. Topical issue is that there may be different opinion about how beneficial student organizations for students really are. Student organizations usefulness could be disputable, beacause there are always postive and negative side to everything. One the one hand it appears that some students might support and think that student organizations are really advantageous for them and others do not support that idea. For example many stundents might complain about that sudent organizations are full of politics
Dear Mr Smith, I am writing in because of a problem I have with the new neighbour, David, who has moved in downstairs. Unfortunately, his habits seems to be different than mine. The issue is that David is a musician who plays his electric guitar very late night. I understand he is in a band and needs to practice but I think he can not do this in apartment. I work in home, so for me, it is important to have silence so I can concentrate on my work. But when David is playing all the time it is unable to get any of my works done, except when he is out. Sometimes I have been forced to leave the apartment and work at the library because of the guitar playing was disturbing.
Essay Often the United States is referred to as the land of opportunity. No wonder a lot of people want to experience it – in fact a survey found out that about 165 million adults worldwide would immigrate to the United States if they had the opportunity. Unfortunately not everyone who decides to live in America does it legally and that’s where the problems begin. Illegal immigration is not a new issue in the United States. For many years immigrants have crossed the American border through Mexico, the Pacific Ocean or some other way. Also there are people who enter the country with a visa but stay for a longer time than it allows them to. Every day thousands of immigrants come to the United States and in March 2010 the estimated number of illegal aliens in the States was about 11 200 000. About eight million of them had jobs. But why are there so many illegal immigrants in the US

Margit Tepner k0848752 Sustainability aspects of biofuels 1. Introduction The literature review will discuss the sustainability aspects of biofuels. Food production will be the main concern as it is the most debated issue, but other aspects, such as land use change and water consumption will be also considered as they are essential aspects in the biofuels sustainability criteria. The review will discuss the viability of biofuels based on the current technologies. Second-generation biofuels are not yet commercially viable and therefore will not be discussed; although they could significantly improve the sustainability of biofuels when they break through to the industrial scale. 2
Climate change represents a change in these long-term weather patterns. They can become warmer or colder. Annual amounts of rainfall or snowfall can increase or decrease. Global Warming: Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about global warming caused by human activities. The increasing infrastructure instability is an important issue in relation to the influences of global climate change in urban areas. A serious issue pertaining to this is the dual nature of damage triggered by events combined with climate change and natural hazards. For example, catastrophic damage could result from the combination of global warming with a great earthquake, which is a worst-case scenario.
Estonian Business School Anzelika Levitskaja ÕBE 11 Summary On the basis of the above, I would like to summarizy explain what are the main principles of the internatinal meetings. First and foremost must be determined issue to consider after that organizers begin to plan. Next important issue that such meeting`s participants come from different countries, so identifying their nationalities must be taken into account. Meetings that last for several days need to be scheduled for any social program for the participants. Now consider the reasons for suchkind of meeting. There are: - rewarding performance; - creating opprtunities for professional development; - to introduce new products; - increase a sales pitch. Now move on to the problems typical in international meetings
ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM The term acid rain refers to what scientists call acid deposition. It is caused by airborne acidic pollutants and has highly destructive results. Scientists first discovered acid rain in 1852, when the English chemist Robert Agnus invented the term. From then until now, acid rain has been an issue of intense debate among scientists and policy makers. Acid rain, one of the most important environmental problems of all, cannot be seen. The invisible gases that cause acid rain usually come from automobiles or coal-burning power plants. Acid rain moves easily, affecting locations far beyond those that let out the pollution. As a result, this global pollution issue causes great debates between countries that fight over polluting each other's environments.

The same words can mean different things to people from different cultures, even when they talk the "same" language. When the languages are different, and translation has to be used to communicate, the potential for misunderstandings increases. Second are "behavior constraints." Each culture has its own rules about proper behavior which affect verbal and nonverbal communication. Whether one looks the other person in the eye-or not; whether one says what one means overtly or talks around the issue; how close the people stand to each other when they are talking--all of these and many more are rules of politeness which differ from culture to culture. Third factor is "emotional constraints." Different cultures regulate the display of emotion differently. Some cultures get very emotional when they are debating an issue. They yell, they cry, they exhibit their anger, fear, frustration, and other feelings openly. Other cultures try to keep their emotions hidden, exhibiting or sharing only the
and vegetables, such as stem, core, seeds, and skin, were removed before further sample preparation. In this method all vegetables were cooked in the microwave. Equal weight portions of the same food were composited and blended to a homogenous mixture. Frozen samples were further dried in vacuum before analysis. An important part of analysis is sugar determination. In this method, samples were analyzed for mono- and disaccharides by high-performance liquid chromatography. In the issue, from 14 baked products most of them contained varying levels of fructose, glucose, and maltose; only three contained sucrose..All of the 19 fruits contained fructose, glucose, and sucrose; six contained maltose. The last method of analysis was Soluble and Insoluble Dietary Fiber Determination. In this type of analysing the samples were analyzed for soluble and insoluble dietary fiber fractions according to specials oils
THE IMPACT OF THE MEDIA ON BAD BODY IMAGE IN CHILDREN Kristiina Tammik What is body image? Body image is the perception of one's own body, based chiefly in comparison to socially constructed standards or ideals The way you perceive yourself How you feel IN your body What you believe about your appearance What is the issue? Negative body image is important to recognize because often, whether the person has control over the issue or not, it leads to harmful results. Poor body image comes from the idea that there is only one type of "perfect body". It is a big problem in today's society and is causing major issues in many lives. Facts 42% of 1st-3rd grades want to be thinner At age 13, 53% of the girls are `'unhappy with their body" Grows to 78% to when they are 17 Numbers thrive to 80% in their women hood. Ishiguro's technique is to allow these characters to reveal their flaws. Ishiguro's novels often end without any sense of resolution. The issues his characters confront are buried in the past and remain unresolved. But in the end, many of his characters accept their past and who they have become. of carcinogenic and even mutagenic compounds. When a leaky engine releases this oil into the street, it runs to the sewer and from there it becomes part of a laundry-list of contaminants that makes its way into waterways. Even a small drip of oil can turn into a disaster when you consider the fact that there are more than 250 million cars on the road in the United States alone. Even if all of these vehicles were in perfect working order, the disposal of the used oil would still be a huge issue. Clean Up Beaches and Waterways Wherever you have waterways that see a lot of human recreation, you will almost always see lots of evidence of human use. Wrappers, bottles and other trash are unfortunately a common site at many well-used beaches and rivers around the world. It should be fairly obvious that the trash from these places often ends up in waterways and can cause pollution. Plastics are an especially big issue when it comes to water contamination at beaches and waterways.

there was very fun and the atmosphere was great. Secondly, you claimed that at the camp were 30 students, but actually there were only 15 of us, maybe even less. The final point I want to make concerns accommodation. We did not spend the nights in old tents. All of us slept in modern, wooden buildings with many more showers than you claimed to be there. Could I please ask you to look into these matters. I would like to see correct information about the camp in the next issue. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Kaire Lusti

The book gives good insight on why we still have problems with racism around us and how much worse it was back in the 19th and 20th century. It has a good mixture of educational and historical topics and humour. Although many things are told the reader through metaphors, the meaning of the metaphor is often explained, as the book is told through a kid’s point of view. I would recommend this book to high schoolers, as it explains important topics that are still an issue to this day and it may be an eye- opening book to some people.

How to recognize whether the program is appropriate or not? The answer is pacing. If you see, that certain TV program is slow-paced and has the narrative form, then you should know that it can help to develop the long-term memory. But if the program is frenetically-paced, then it usually contains a violence that can inhibit the development of young people and also make children act impulsively and inappropriately. The violence on TV is the main issue that parents are worried about, as violence has a numbing effect on emotions. Moreover, young people can accept violence as the way of solving problems. I believe, that parents should properly control, what their children watch on TV and how long. In my opinion, there should be certain rules for children concerning the media. In addition to that, parents should talk to young people and explain why certain programs are bad or good.

too late. Firstly, there is too much traffic in the city centre and cars emit bad fumes. A good idea would be to introduce parking and riding schemes. In this way there will be fewer cars in the city centre and in longer perspective air will get a lot cleaner. Another problem are factories polluting the air. There are so many factories that there is always smoke covering the city. It would help if we could create industrial parks. In this way less smoke will cover the city. Also a big issue is rubbish being burned. It would be a good idea to introduce a recycling scheme. In result less rubbish will get burned. In conclusion, there are many ways to make our cities cleaner. We all need to do whatever we can and stop blaming other people. As Marie Curie said `'Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.'' We all can help!

Environment in Estonia The aim of the report is to discuss environmental issues in Estonia, what kind of problems we have, what causes these problems and what have been done to solve them. Firstly, the main issue is pollution, that is caused by our own carelessness and thoughlessness. In Estonia there are too many old cars and other vehicles, which exhaust fumes that pollute air what we breathe. Although, there are some newer vehicles like busses and cars that contaminate less and even few electric cars, people do not pay enough attention to it. When the levels of pollution are too high, it may cause some serious diseases.

Pros and Cons of the Capital Punishment. The death penalty is a controversial issue in most countries, but it is completely abolished in our country. Arguments for and against it are based on moral, practical, religious and emotional groups. On the one hand, there are advocates of the death penalty, who argue that it deters crime, improves community by making them sure, that convicted criminals would never find their way out onto the streets to offend again and it is cheaper than keeping convicted criminals in high security prison for the rest of their natural lives.
on December 9th in California. It was directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, who also starred in it. The film tells a story about an old widowed former Ford factory worker Kowalski, who has a troubled relationship with his family members and who is angry at the world. It is quite interesting that Clint Eastwood wanted to star in a movie where he plays a racist character. He also said that it was his last film as an actor. The main issue in this film is gang violence on the streets involving different cultures and races. Grand Torino is not a typical American film at all; it even reminds me of a 1992 Australian film Romper Stomper which talks about the same problem- intolerance. The film also shows that if only people from different cultures want to live together in a friendly atmosphere and in harmony, they can achieve this but it may take time and willingness to understand others.

At 0% brightness, both hue and saturation are meaningless. Brightness as it is described here refers only to relative values within a source that we are looking at (for example, a display screen or printed document). The actual luminance (of a light source) or reflectance (of an object) is a different issue--these values are measured with devices such as photographic light meters. The distinction between levels of brightness is actually logarithmic, not linear as the HSB scale would imply.

Even public figures have a right to privacy The issue of whether or not the public figures deserve more privacy than they are given today is a complicated one. Some people claim that the public officials are constantly disturbed by the media and the privacy for them should be enforced more. But there are individuals who believe that the public figures do not deserve more privacy because they have signed up for their life to be well known. Those for increased privacy for public figures, supporters of more privacy:
Eight years later, a film adaptation was made starring Danny Kaye, though the story was entirely different from the original. In Stiller's movie, Walter is a single guy who is fixated on his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) but can't come up with enough interesting facts about himself to fill out his eHarmony profile. Walter is a photo editor for Life magazine, but he can't find the one shot from a famous photojournalist (Sean Penn) that is meant for the cover of the final issue. So he finally breaks free of his humdrum life to see the world and track down the missing photograph. Stiller ends up starring and directing the entire movie after much negotiation during the pre-production. Jim Carrey and Sacha Baron Cohen were considered for the role of Walter Mitty, while Stephen Spielber was considered to direct movie. Mitty brings his fantasies to life with adventures in frosty mountains and warzones. But most of these adventures are shot in either Greenland or Iceland
(Johnson et al., 2006) Merisutt toitub imedes end suurema kala (peamiselt lõhe, meriforelli, angerja ja tursa) külge rännates niimoodi ohvriga päevi või isegi nädalaid. Suti süljenäärmete eritised takistavad vere hüübimist ja põhjustavad punaste vereliblede hävimist ning kudede lagunemist. 9 KASUTATUD KIRJANDUS 1. Heather A. Dawson, Michael L. Jones. 2009.
