The invention of the telephone inglise keel

This invention is recognized to be the first electromagnetic telegraph of the world. (The development of the modern telephone involved an array of lawsuits founded upon the patent claims of several individuals.) Some of the inventors who gave their contribution for inventing the telephone are: Innocenzo Manzetti - Innocenzo Manzetti considered the idea of a telephone as early as 1844, and may have made one in 1864. He is considered by many Italians as the inventor of the telephone. Johann Philipp Reis - In 1860 Reis was the first who produced a functioning electromagnetic device that could transmit musical notes, indistinct speech, and occasionally distinct speech by means of electric signals. Antonio Meucci - An early voice communicating device was invented around 1854 by Antonio Meucci, (who called it a telettrofono.) In the 1880s Meucci was credited with the early invention of inductive loading of telephone wires to increase long-distance signals.

The industrial revolution

In the 1850s, British engineer Henry Bessemer (1813-1898) developed the first inexpensive process for mass-producing steel. Both iron and steel became essential materials, used to make everything from appliances, tools and machines, to ships, buildings and infrastructure. The steam engine was also integral to industrialization. In 1712, Englishman Thomas Newcomen (1664-1729) developed the first practical steam engine (which was used primarily to pump water out of mines). By the 1770s, Scottish inventor James Watt (1736-1819) had improved on Newcomen's work, and the steam engine went on to power machinery, locomotives and ships during the Industrial Revolution. The invention of telephone

The invention of telephone The telephone is one of the greatest inventions in history. Early telephones were nothing like the ones we have today. Telephone is the Greek word for "far sound." Before the invention of telephone, people used fax, postal letters and birds to communicate. Alexander Graham Bell was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who intented the first telephone. His mother and his wife were both deaf and that was the main reason which caused his interest to hearing devices. Bell invented the telephone by accident when he was trying to invent a device that could send more than one telegram at the same time. His research on hearing and speech further led him to experiment with hearing devices which eventually culminated with the telephone in 1876.

The invention of the car changed the world

The invention of the car changed the world. World is used to move unstoppably. How many of us can possibly imagine our everyday life without cars in it? We´d find it to be rather difficult. Probably the fact would blow up our day schedules and most of the plans that are made. In the olden days, a car was a poduct which was ment to be only for the rich ones. To the contrary, nowadays cars are very easily available for everyone (!).Speaking of which, it´s not much to mention that one extremely wierd and sad occasion would be that some people take advantage of haveing a car and tend to take up too high speeds for showing how tough fellows they are. Often boasting like this can cause big devastations, meaning accidents and all kinds of fines, not mentioning times, when a driver might be under influence of the alcohol, which is definitely the worst possibility of all. But that´s the world we live in ...

bother to think about creating something new and refreshing. They're happy with what they've got and don't need anything new and confusing. All things considered, though, I still think that people love making something out of nothing. It is just so fascinating and you never know what might come out of it. And if we keep creating new things, we can really make our lives easier and most certainly more interesting. I couldn't agree more with Charles F. Kettering, an American inventor, who once said, "Our imagination is the only limit to what we can hope to have in the future."

The history of movies starts in early 1900s. American inventor Thomas Edison, began making short motion pictures at the turn of the century. In 1903, a movie called "The Great Train Robbery" was the first one to tell the whole story. Movies were silent at this time and orchestras played music in theathers, so movies would have sound. The Jazz Singer in 1927 was the first movie to have sound. A year later, 1928, a funny animation movie "Steamboat willie" was produced. 1920-s were also the rise of hollywood. Oxford University

The University of Oxford The University of Oxford, located in Oxford, England, is the second oldest and still remaining university in the world. The first one is the University of Bologna in Italy. But as for English speaking countries Oxford is a firm leader. There are evidence of teaching going far back to the 11th century, but a clear date is not known. In 1167, Henry II banned English students from studying in France which made Oxford's popularity grow rapidly. From then on, Oxford was named a real university and got it's first chancellor in 1201. For years, Oxford only accepted male students until four womens' colleges were opened thanks to the Association for Promoting the Higher Education of Women. First of them was Lady Margaret Hall, which was opened in 1878. Women have been able to be full members of the university and to take degrees since 7 October 1920, almost 900 years after the Univ...

Henry Ford

Slaid 1. Henry Ford Henry Ford in the eyes of of many, the leading figure of modern capitalism: he gave us Fordism- not just the a way of manufacturing but a new form of intustrial organisation. Indeed, according to Henry himself, he 'invented the modern age'. His vision was that all his employees could afford his products. He also invented the modern corporation- yet the Ford Motor Company was almsot wholly driven by the needs of production. Finance, marketing, cost accounting, managerial structure, and all the other accoutrements of modern corporations were of little or no intrest to Henry Ford. Henry Ford also regarded himself as a leader of the American people- as indeed were all business people in his eyes. But his belief that he understood the people better than their political leaders is best represented by his claim during prohibition. For Ford, at least early on, the seduction of wages still required its opposite for effective ...

Milking machine

A hand cranked suction pump drew milk from all four teats at once. • Such devices created a continuous suction on the udder, damaging the mammary tissue and frequently causing the cow to kick. • In 1859, John Kingman, of Dover, NH, patented a tin teat cup with elastic flange for use with a suction pump milker. • The first successful use of teat cups with a vacuum milker is found in the 1860 patent of L.O. Colvin, perhaps America's most famous inventor of early milking machines. This lever operated suction device drew a great response from the agricultural press. • However, the Colvin milker still subjected the cow's teats to constant vacuum, causing blood to pool there. Colvin sold the English patent for this machine for $5000, and, at least 1500 machines were sold in England, according to an article in The Agricultural Gazette. • In Scotland, William Murchland invented a very successful

The suspension setup is referred to as 'oléopneumatique' in early literature, pointing to oil and air as its main components. There have been many improvements to this system over the years, including variable ride firmness (Hydractive) and active control of body roll (Citroën Activa). The latest incarnation features a simplified single pump-accumulator sphere combination. The system had one key negative impact on the inventor, Citroën - only specialist garages were qualified to work on the cars - making them seem radically different from ordinary cars with common mechanicals. Auto manufacturers are still trying to catch up with the combination of features offered by this 1955 suspension system, typically by adding layers of complexity to an ordinary steel spring mechanical system Air Suspension. Air suspension is a type of vehicle suspension powered by an engine driven or electric air pump or compressor

The first photographer was Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in the year 1826, using a camera made of wood made by Charles and Jacques Vincent Louis Chevalier in Paris. process. In 1712, Thomas Newcom and John Calley built their first successful steam engine. Nicholas Cugnot built the first mechanically propelled road vehicle in 1769. Cugnot's vehicle was powered through a two - cylinder piston connected steam engine. It used high pressure steam as the power source. Watt patented late in 1781 a connection from the piston to a rotating gear. This set-up is still used in the internal combustion engine. Scottish engineer and inventor William Murdock created a vehicle that was powered by a miniature steam engine. In 1813, the precursors to the steam engine train was built by William Hedly. Between 1800 and 1825 steam powered travel increased. Boats, vehicles, and trains used steam engines. The method of steam production was by burning some substance. Superheated steam was produced in an experiment by Jacob Perkins in 1823. His experiment was called a flash boiler

Games Programming with Java and Java 3D

GLU is a standard part of every OpenGL distribution. The OpenGL Utility Toolkit (GLUT) is another standard component, made up of libraries for window management, call-back driven event processing, utilities for creating 3D solids and wireframes, fonts, and timers, all supplied in a platform independent manner. However, most programmers find GLUT too inflexible for serious applications, and tend to code up the necessary features themselves. Open Inventor (http://www.sgi.com/software/inventor/) supports a scene graph interface on top of OpenGL, with a variety of pre-defined objects such as cubes, materials, cameras, lights, input devices, views, and editors. It simplifies tasks such as scene traversal, interactions, picking, and bounding box calculations. It is available on UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms. A drawback is the speed of its scene graph implementation. Kahlua is a Java wrapper for Open Inventor (http://www.igd.fhg.de/CP/kahlua/).
