The colourful history of Jõhvi Concert H all dates back
to the year 1491, when Jõhvi M anor with its historicist
features stood on the spot of the modern Jõhvi
Concert H ouse. The manor buildings were surrounded
by a spacious park, which can be found next to the
concert house even today, reminding us of the former
glory of the manor.
In cooperation with the Estonian M inistry of Culture and Jõhvi Government the Jõhvi
Theater was built in 2004 and first opened its doors on the 8th of October 2005
under the management of Aivar M äethe Director of Estonian Concert. The architects
of the Concert H ouse are Ra Luhse and Tanel Tuhal. Scenes have been furnished
with modern equipment. Linda M adalik created the grand hall's excellent acoustics.
