parent or caretaker intentionally causes physical symptoms in a child in order to indirectly assume the sick role
or gain attention from the medical system.

There are two types of MSBP presentations: doctor addicts and active inducers. Caretakers in the first category
are ,,obsessed" with obtaining medival treatment for their children'is nonexistent illnesses. Despite repeated
negative tests and examinations, these parents believe that their children are ill, and their deception is limited to
the false positivse reporting of history and sympoms. In the second and classic MSBP presentation,
caretakers make direct efforts to induce symptoms of illness in their children.
