SIGMUND FREUD Sigmund Freud (Sigismund Schlomo Freud) (6. mai 1856 Freiberg 23. september 1939 London) oli pärit Austria juutide perekonnast. Psühhiaater ning psühhoanalüüsi teooria ja meetodi rajaja. 1909. aastal pidas Freud USA-s rea loenguid. Ameerika Ühendriikidest sai psühhoanalüüsi teine kodumaa, kus psühhoanalüüsi meetod kui psühhoteraapiaon laialdaselt kasutusel. Freudi teooriad ja tema meetodid olid vaieldavad nii 19. sajandi Viinis ning on jäänud vaieldavateks tänaseni. Tema tööd on avaldanud suurt mõju kirjandusele, filosoofiale ning kultuurile üldiselt. Tema tütar Anna Freud oli nimekas psühhoanalüütik. ELUKÄIK Sigmund Freud sündis 1856 Freibergi linnas, mis praegu asub Tsehhis. Ta oli väljapaistev õppilane.
