Animal rights movements and their views on hunting

Animal rights movements and their views on hunting Koostaja: In Wikipedia there are listed 34 animal rights organizations [8], so in this report author has picked out some of these organizations and will introduce their views on game management and hunting. First hypothesis before deeper research is that all such organizations are against all sort of hunting. When mentioned animal rights people usually think about people fighting against wearing furs and keeping animals in cages, but when delving deeper into this there are many problems that animal rights organizations/ movements are addressing. There are also those organizations that have not made any statements about hunting, some of those concentrate only on pets (mostly cats and dogs) but some just don’t mention hunting in any way

"Wild animals in danger". Ettekanne inglis keeles.

As a result, forests are been cutting down. And what has taken the place of these green, natural places? Houses, farms, cities, streets, roads and factories. Because of this (and pollution, too) several species are dying all over the world. In addition , if one animal, bird or insect disappears, all the others suffer too. And all living beings belong to the circle of life. And when one link is missing, the circle of life can´t function normally. A further problem is hunting. Man has always been a hunter. He still is. But many modern hunters don't just kill for food - they kill for profit. And that´s wrong ! There are, however some solutions. We should make more laws, that protect the animals in danger. Open more national parks, building fewer new roads, planting more new forests and cutting pollution. These are things, that everyone can help with, if they wanted to.

They are also illegally hunted for their fur. To protect them, there have been many special wildlife parks set up. Elephants live in Central Africa and are the largest land animals alive today. They eat grass, twigs and some fruit. In many Asian countries elephants are symbols of wisdom and are famed for their memory and high intelligence. Once numbering in the millions, the African elephant population has dwindled to between 470,000 and 690,000 individuals because of people hunting them for their tusks. The elephant is now a protected species worldwide, also the hunting and trading of ivory has been banned to protect them. The Rhinoceros, often colloquially abbreviated rhino, lives in Africa. They eat grass and plants. Rhinoceros also have acute hearing and sense of smell, but poor eyesight. However, they are hunted for their horns. To protect them, the selling of rhino horns has been banned and their areas are guarded.

A boar (adult male) weighs around 350 700 kg (7701,500 l while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time at sea. Their scientific name means "maritime bear, and derives from this fact. Polar bears can hunt their preferred food of seals from the edge of sea ice, often living off fat reserves when no sea ice is present. The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, with eight of the nineteen polar bear subpopulations in decline.[6] For decades,

Retelling the Aboriginal people

For thousands of years Aborigines lived as hunter-gatherers along the coast and in the inland desert areas, following the same lifestyle as their ancestors. 3. Finding food and water Aboriginal tribes obtained water from trees and roots and even squeezed water out of the bodies of frogs. Women collected anything that grew or moved, including fruit, lizards, snakes, roots, grass, etc. Their skill in finding food even in the most extreme conditions often kept the whole group alive. 4. Hunting Large mammals, now extinct (väljasurnud), roamed some areas (hulkusid mingitel aladel) of Australia and provided (andsid) meat for the aboriginal hunters. Other areas were richer in vegetable food, but there was no organised agriculture or domesticated animals. Food therefore was not easy to obtain. Tribesmen recognized the tracks of animals and developed extraordinary skills in tracking their pray. 5. Traditions, arts and beliefs.

Zealand about 1000 years ago, when navigator Kupe discovered the land in 950 AD. He named it Aotearoa The Land of the Long White Cloud. Although these facts can be debatable, I will focus my attention on this interpretation of Maori history. After the Maori arrived to New Zealand, they started to develop into tribes and sub tribes, this tribal system is still in use. Their culture had almost no influence from the rest of the world. They evolved a culture endorsed by agriculture and hunting. Of course the Maori were warriors as well. They had inter-tribal battles, mostly over territory and the losers became slaves or food. Regardless of that they are historically not to be considered as cannibals. There was only one tribe that were, other tribes just kept the heads of their defeated to secure their mana or enemy's power. The Maori had a complex social structure of tribes, sub-tribes and clans and a concrete society made up of nobility, priestly and slave classes

In primordial times hunting provided most of what was needed for survival food, clothes, and other necessities. Hunting taught people to cooperate and developed their physical abilities. For centuries, the right of hunting was reserved for noblemen. Today, game management is no longer the prerogative of select few anybody can become a hunter. There are hunters all over the world. Protecting endangered species will make a difference in humans life

Protecting endangered species will make a difference in humans' life In the nature of humankind it is natural to hunt animals. However, nowadays hunting endangered species will make humans be just killers, because it is not necessary to kill something just to have a trophy on the wall at home. People can be proud of what they have done, but decreasing the population of a species largely will cause the specific animal breed to go extinct faster than it would happen via natural causes. Therefore, humans should stop hunting endangered species to slow down their extinction, as these species

becoming weaker". Richard promised to bring an end to the Hundred Years' War that Edward III had started. Writers agreed that Richard was a "most beautiful king", though with a "face which was white, rounded and feminine", implying he lacked manliness. He was athletic and tall; when his tomb was opened in 1871 he was found to be six feet tall. He was also intelligent and well read, but when agitated he had a tendency to stammer. Richard nevertheless enjoyed tournaments, as well as hunting. " Polar bears live near the circumpolar at north in areas where they can hunt seals at open leads. Scientists estimate that there are between 22000 to 27000 polar bears. Its closest relative is the brown bear. Adult male polar bears are 2,5 to 3 meters tall. They weigh 250 to 770 kilograms. Adult female bears are smaller. They are about 1,8 to 2,5 meters tall and weigh 90 to 320 kilograms. Polar bears usually eat seals usually the ringed seasl, but sometimes the bearded seals. When hunting is good, polar bears will typically eat only the fat and leave the rest of the carcass for scavengers including arctic foxes, ravens, and younger bears. Polar bears also sometimes kill and eat both walrus and beluga whales. They have even hunted short-legged reindeer and sometimes even birds and bird eggs. Polar bears are top of the food chain in the Arctic. They help to keep the balance of nature by preventing an overpopulation of seals. In

evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that bread within the family, raise, feed and look after the progeny. Of course there are exceptions like lions (lionesses do hunting which ensures food for their families), seahorses (males bear the eggs) and some others, but in general law of nature is such. So it is not surprising that this law applies for the human beings, but we are truly exceptional species. Our mind that led us through enormous changes in society fetched us to such state of affairs that nowadays many women place their careers first. The reasons for that are very different: suppressed sexual needs, uncertainty in helpmates, need

Common Kingfisher - Jäälind

Common Kingfisher breeds 6-7 eggs a time for 19-21 days. Only mother feeds the birds, although father is always nearby. After breeding time the relationship between parents ends and they break up. Common Kingfisher eats mostly fish, whose length does not exceed 6cm. It also eats bugs and other spinelesses, especially dragonfly babys. Very rarely it also eats tiny frogs. Common Kingfighter gets its food as far as 1km from nest. When hunting for food, Common Kingfisher often sits still moveless over the water and monitors the catch. When the catch is near, Kingfisher goes for it. When it spots the catch, it dives into water, grabs the fish and carries it to the nest or goes to hunt for more fish.

Other colour variations: there are also unconfirmed reports of a "blue" or slate coloured tiger, the Maltese Tiger, and largely or totally black tigers, and these are assumed, if real, to be intermittent mutations rather than distinct species. Biology and behaviour Tigers are essentially solitary and territorial animals. In the wild, tigers mostly feed on larger and medium sized animals. Tigers are thought to be nocturnal predators, hunting at night. Even with their great masses, tigers can reach speeds of about 4965 kilometres per hour (35 40 miles per hour). Inglise keele report: Animals in danger of extinction

b) Animal Rescue Facilities provide homes for animals in need. They are not being sold, transferred or used for breeding. Where possible, many animals are placed in habitats together to enrich their lives by sharing their home with others of their kind. To sum up, there are over 10,000 endangered species around the globe, who can still be saved. In order to do this, governments should raise awareness of environmental issues and introduce laws forbidding hunting, restricting land development or creating preserves, because nowadays the future of nature is in the hands of man.

Arctic Ground Squirrel

Arctic ground squirrels are usually active between four in the afternoon and nine or ten at night. On rainy and cloudy days, they will stay in their burrows. Colony is made up of burrows that are dug about three feet under the ground. The burrows are connected with a series of tunnels. Arctic ground squirrels are very vocal. They are called "sik-sik" by the Inupiat Eskimos in Alaska because of the sounds they make. Threats Unsustainable hunting for skins for local trade. Habitat degradation through grazing by increasing numbers of livestock. Drying of water sources and droughts. Bigger animals like arctic foxes and wolves, grizzly bears, lynxes, eagles and wolverines. Melting ice, which is caused by global warming. Thank you for listening !

A group of Danish scientists wondered whether global warming would make the hairy, meat-eating wolf spiders of northeastern Greenland bigger, since longer summers mean more hunting time. The spiders can live for at least two years, and the researchers found that, in years when spring came early, the animals grew larger, on average. For example, when spring came 30 days earlier than usual, some spiders grew exoskeletons that were 10 percent thicker than average, resulting in bigger bodies overall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA0u2J1bKAc Snakes There are around 3000 snake species in the world, and about 375 of these are venomous. Tigers

Female tiger's cubs grow fast and they are old enough to eat meat. At the moment it is not a problem because there is plenty of food because it is deer mating season and the deer are less alert to danger. This makes them easy targets but water and deer also attract wild dogs. Wild dogs are danger to the cubs but luckily they mainly kill deer. It is the hottest time of the year and the grass is dried up but soon come monsoons. It makes hunting difficult for the tigers because of too big deer herds but there is also another serious problem. Female tiger is attacked by a new male tiger but she and her cubs are not injured. New male is trying to take over and it succeeds killing an older male and a young cub. Finally male tiger injures female tiger and she dies. Her cubs are left alone and nobody cares for them. The cubs fail to hunt and they disappear. After several weeks of searching female cub is seen

It was then let out in small holdings for hay and dairy produce. Sport Many sports are played in the park including tennis, netball, athletics, cricket, softball, rounders, football, hockey, australian rules football, rugby, ultimate frisbee and running. In addition, there are three playgrounds for children each with an attendant, and there is boating on the main lake
